Baldur does/did have a wife, Nanna. She is also the mother of his son and only child, Forseti, the Æsir god of Justice. He was a minor deity in most places, but his worship and Cult were very important to the Frisians.

Had Kratos found a way to absorb blood orbs in Norse mythology, he'd have finished it in one cut.
Kratos never went all out on Baldur.
It was stated by Cory he would have made Baldur not recover for weeks if he went all out and the novel says he could have broken all of Baldurs bones in an instant in the rematch if he was the man he used to be.
The first moment Kratos goes all out in the Norse games is when he breaks Thors tooth.
Yeah maybe Baldur could have surpassed Thor over time since he was much younger, Magni is also a good candidate to surpass Thor as he does in the original myth and was stated to have been Thors successor,had he lived longer he may habe surpassed him
False, the novel say Baldur was a CHALLENGE! The strongest foe Kratos faced up to that point (imo, not counting Fear Zeus, none is more powerful than this yet, except PoH Kratos)

Both Thor and Baldur were dealt a bad hand, but while Thor went down a route of apathy and depression, Baldur turned into a crazed violent psychopath. Whereas they tried to make Thor more sympathetic and human in Ragnarok, Baldur is practically 100% irredeemable and inhuman, and in a way, that makes him a much more serious and dangerous foe. There was a chance for Thor to change for the better if he just made the effort, while Baldur was too far gone and only saw red.
irredeemable based on what... him wanting revenge against his mother.... uhhhhh, baldur is literally the actual nice Norse God and isn't like Thor or Odin.... its the same thing with comparing kratos to Baldur... they do strike the most similarities compared to Thor but Baldur wasn't evil like Kratos and never was

Perhaps Baldur will make a come back, since he does return after Ragnarok in the myths, and maybe, just maybe, he may have a change of heart after all that time spent in Helheim (since he technically spends all his time there in Hel's palace until Ragnarok passes)... but who knows. Then again, Baldur supposedly has a twin brother named Hodr and is the opposite of Baldur (Baldur is god of light and Hodr is blind god of darkness)

@@maiqtheliar3502 A lot of people seem to think he got his godhood back when he got the blade of Olympus back, but God of War 3 confirms he did not when Aphrodite says he is no longer the God of War.
@@Bigzig2 he is the son of a god, thus he is a god… unless ur talking about his title specifically “The God of War” then yea technically he isn’t anymore, that was taken from him along with his life in GOW 2. But seeing as all of Greece is gone, as far as we know, I doubt there’s any claimants to Kratos’ throne so fuck it, he can keep the title I guess…
@@mattbailey7832 He is not a god, he is a half human demigod which is not the same thing. God of War 1 makes the difference clear. The Norse gods aren't even close to the Olympian ones in power considering that they got beaten up by a version of Kratos who has neither godhood nor the power of the box. It all stems from Sony just wanting to use the God of War name to attract a pre existing fanbase in a dishonest bait and switch instead of actually making a new God of War game.
@@Bigzig2 kratos is a Demi god son of Zeus(a god) and Callisto(mortal). He got his godhood sometime after ghost of sparta and lost it in gow 2 when he put his powers into the blade. He can use the powers he had in the blade, but he’s still a Demi god and never regained his godhood. In the gow series being a demigod means you’re still super powerful, but it took kratos many amps to defeat zeus

Baldur is like the Old Kratos in a Way. He wanted Revenge against Freya and Alsonif Kratos Didnt Kill him He would have Probably Attacked and Destroy Asgard too( He would relize Odin Lied to Him about Their Being a Giant becauseKratos was not a Giant)( And Here is a Parallel Between Both Odin of Gow and Marvel Comics. Even though Marvel Odin is Not Evil they Both Have Secrets like How Marvel Odin was Trying to Prevent All Father Thor from Going to a Certain Room saying Don't Go.

@@newhybrid101 say what u will, but Thor to me was only remotely interesting in his intro and first fight… rest of the game he is quite pathetic and does not portray the ruthless giant slaying barbaric monster he’s made out to be in GOW 2018.
Instead of doubling down on someone to be feared and pose a legitimate threat to Kratos, they instead chose the VERY ORIGINAL idea of the sympathetic villain. Why should we sympathise with someone who commits a massive cultural genocide? Oh yes cos he has daddy issues! So lame and pathetic, just one of the many dropped balls in GOW Ragnarok…
The game IN MY OPINION gets far too much praise for its story and writing. Graphics sure, gameplay definitely, but it’s story is sub par at best and cannot hold a candle to 2018, and I pray they rectify the shit writing for whatever comes next in GOW

If the first thing he said was "I never wanted to kill those Giants" then that would be bad writing. But in this case it ain't. Kratos changed the fact by having special weapons to kill the gods. Its also IRL too. Apart from that no comparison here stands solid cause the positions and perspective changed within the games. In Greek time the earth was Gaia but in Norse it was Odin who created the earth realm by killing his ancestor Ymir with his spear and build this world with Ymirs body parts.

In my opinion yes and no because the Greek gods win in a straight forward team battle they have more power houses. It’s that simple but if the Norse gods have time to I don’t know make unbreakable curses they would be able to win that fight. I think the directors were set on making these Norse gods puny compared to their Greek counterparts. They only trying to make the drama more strong in the Norse arc and Kratos's redemtion arc. Its like they were set in mind when they were making the first 3, they were making like a demi-god becoming a god fighting a true god looks like and in Norse time they were like Gods have there own politics too. Some back room mafia deal type.

IRL the Norse are not any joke. They are the literal embodiment of ruthlessness, brutality , calamity and war. Ofcourse the Greek people and their religion lasted verylong compared the Viking culture. With this mindset if they forward themselves to Egypt arc they need to make the Gods in them OP.

Who's to say Baldur couldn't access these powers prior? I definitely don't think this is evidence of him surpassing Thor. Thor is broken and sad...but I is Baldur. They even share some similar scars. Truth is Thor has always been the biggest of the big.The most fears of the Aesir. I didn't really hear anything all too intensely convincing in here but I get that feeling of loving a character and wanting to see more of them
well in similar fashion as kratos.... both were evil and ruthless but baldur and kratos share the most similarities, difference is that baldur is actually nice but crazy since he can't feel anything for over 100 winters

Despite what the lore says, Baldur was shown to be more of a challenge for Kratos than Thor. Baldur was also stronger and more of a menace than Thor. The Thor we saw in Ragnarok was a joke compared to how he was described in the 2018 game.
Stronger than Thor? Kratos whooped baldur 2x while Thor went toe to toe with kratos and even killed him unlike baldur 🤣
@@mikel.5414 Yet Kratos beat Thor without ever using Spartan Rage. At least with Baldur, Kratos was forced to overpower him by using his rage in some moments unlike Thor.
I’ll tell yall: I think it was weird. that Kratos apparently got killed by that one hit from Thor. Kratos hits the ground but he doesn’t go flying or anything he just faints. Thor overpowered Kratos that way but other than that it kinda seems like Baldur have more challenge in pure hand to hand but Thor has the mighty hammer which he really relies on. He’d be alot less powerful without it
