Also in his recent interview he said he loves making readers fall in love with characters then killing them for a more dramatic effect. Since he recalled domain expansion being similar to a video games being explained by gojo and since he loves video games. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes this kind of turn. Plus sakuna probably has no idea how video games work so he'd end up getting worked. Also theres so many references to other anime and video games throughout the story it seems like it would tie in nicely while keeping yuji true to his child-like nature which is pretty cool

I think the narrator emphasizes the "guaranteed hit" portion of domain expansions since it was revealed in the leak that Yuji's soul dismantles were extremely effective against Sukuna, specifically the barrier between Sukuna and Megumi's soul. Sukuna himself said something along the lines of "His shrine technique is deadly, but it doesn't matter if he can't hit me." I think what happened is that Yuji's domain was able to dismantle Sukuna's soul back into Yuji's body, which is why Sukuna looks like Yujikuna again. Now, Megumi should be able to control his body.

Crackpot theory: isn’t the cursed realm a boundary between dreams and reality, and we see Yuji and Sukuna do this to their opponents. I think the cursed realm can be accessed by the clashing of cursed energy like the hadron collider. When 2 opposing forces clash it opens up the cursed realm for a lil bit kinda like black flash.

Your theory is exactly what im thinking his innate technique really is. Him being a parallel to mahito, yuji having soul manipulation of some type would make it all make sense. The incident with todo and choso, him getting a version of shrine due to being soul bound with sakuna for so long, him being able to damage soul barriers and souls. It may be a stretch but theres a lot of evidence supporting it at this point

My theory: that's not Yuji talking to Sakuna in his Domain Expansion. That's the spirit/soul of Sakunas twin. That's probably the reason he looks so at ease when talking to Sakuna in the domain.

Pretty sure Sukuna is dead or he took his soul back in his body. Yuji was remembering that he could apply a technique with a sure hit before he used his domain. We're problably not going to see Yuji's domain yet. I think that's being saved for the final battle. This is the afterlife that we see Sukuna in when he defeats worthy opponents.
I bet somehow it gets canceled or overwhelmed by Salina’s but then toji comes back and uses his domain expansion with a binding vow that allows it to overwhelm sukuna and save yuji and then we find out that yuji wasn’t overwhelmed and his sure hit effect did take place allowing megumi to separate into his body and sukuna into a self curse. Megumi then finally nuts up and hits a perfected DE and leaves sukuna one. And that’s when we find everything out, before the final blow
