- Toji and Mahito are both extremely powerful but also are on completely opposite sides of a spectrum Mahito is a curse formed from people and Toji is the only person free of curses. Putting them up against each other is fun and all but as I describe in the video it isn't a very fair fight for Mahito.

Toji is definitely the fastest and strongest character behind Maki. That said, the trade-off for this is that he has no cursed techniques, no black flash, no domain expansion/simple domain and I think the most important thing is that he lacks reverse cursed energy so he can't heal himself. Unless he can utterly overwhelm his opponent, he will lose a fair fight.
He had huge prep time vs. unawakened Gojo, fully studied him, jumped him at his most exhausted, had the only weapon that counters his limitless and had even then he only managed to get in close enough to stab Gojo because he was too focused on protecting Amanai which gave him the opening he needed.
the fact that toji came back without "soul data" but still has his sense of self for the most part, puts kenjakus "soul and body are one" theory pretty much as the definitive thing, such as when geto's body responded to gojo's provocation and tried to strangle kenjaku

It might be that they're thinking of Shibuya Toji with only Playful Cloud vs Post Awakened Maki with Soulsplitter.
It's possible that Toji could damage Mahito with Playful Cloud since he could use Soulsplitter that requires sensing the souls of inanimate objects, but it's not confirmed. So thinking that Shibuya Toji might not be able to seriously damage Mahito has some validity.

I believe Kenjaku knows better than Mahito when he says the soul is the body even if it's Mahito's ability you also need to take into account that kenjaku lived for over a thousand year and is someone that switch body. From what Kenjaku said and what we saw so far he's right and you can see it when Toji took over the body of that old lady grandson and also when Geto's body tried to fight Kenjaku.
Toji taking over the grandson is a bad example because his soul isn't there & The fanbook Gege says Geto fighting back was the equivalent of a dragonfly moving when its head is cut off. Nothing special.
His soul being not there doesn't mean anything , his body was able to overcome the soul of the grandsons which shouldn't be the case, that's just to show how strong tojis soul and body actually is

Good observation but I think mahitos technique is an after effect he won't heal while being hit he will heal after that when the sword is out of his body.

Mahito may have been weaker then, but Nanami and Yuji beating on him was enough to overcome his healing. Toji blending him with the spear and his soul cutting sword would be even worse

Toji's only downfall was his pride he thought he discarded. I doubt he would have the same carelessness when he fought Gojo. Not to mention Toji's body is almost independent of his soul. Having Overpowering a soul based curse due to his body being special alone.
The big sword Toji used is called the Soulsplitter Katana.
From it's name you can probably guess what it's ability is. Mahito's immunity to physical damage will not protect him against Toji and Toji physical prowess is just 20 level above Mahito so he can never touch him.

Yeah kenjaku is an expert on souls, probably beyond mahito. He’s got 1000 years of experience and his technique is body swapping, which involves the soul. Sukuna too. And to the soul theory, Toji wouldn’t have been able to override if mahito was correct, but he was, since the soul is the body
Kenjaku is not an expert on soul. His body swapping works on bodies not souls. When Geto started moving he made a theory based on his experience on bodies and Mahito explanation on souls, he doesn't know anything for sure. Granny has more experience than him on it.
Think of this that way:
1. Mahito can change someone body by messing with soul.
2. Granny can summon someone else soul by using a part hat person body, but would rather summons the body informations and let someone else soul have it. That implies that body informations are enough to use the ability of the dead person.
3. Kenjaku can enters into someone else body and use the body informations to use their ability.
I think the better counter is that Kenjaku's view actually explains why idle transfiguration works the way that it does while mahito's doesn't.

Not true at all, since Toji’s HR makes any action using CE against him difficult or even moot. Mahito can’t track him, trap him in a domain, catch him to even use IT, etc. It’s Toji’s stats + SSK that makes it Uber unfair.

Just because you have no cursed energy and dont have a cursed tool doesnt mean you cant do any damage do a curse either, you just cant properly exorcise a curse for some unexplained reason but what this doesnt mean is that if you hit a curse with 0 cursed energy its just impervious, thats simply just not the case. Maki can hit and damage curses with her bare hands. A cursed tool doesnt have to be some insane weapon either, it can literally just be a random katana embued with cursed energy or a stick with cursed energy lol, literally just a knife with the blood of a curse on it would probably do fine.

Kenjaku with 1000 years of experimentation and knowledge probably has a deeper understanding of the soul than Mahito. kenjaku's entire thing is hijacking the bodies of others, so he likely has a deep understanding of the soul in relation to the body based on those experiements.

I think mahito was holding back but not in the not using his full power way. In shibuya he doesn’t change his shape much against yuji aside from mostly weapons. But we know he can make himself faster and stronger by reshaping his soul. Like gorilla arms or deer/horse legs.

He's forced to hold back against yuji, he states himself that because it sukuna he can't transfigure yuji. Its why that 0.2 second domain was even used.
As for the reshaping thing, wouldn't matter, Toji would still be quicker. Best case scenario for Mahito is that Toji has no Cursed tools, so mahito would just be surviving everything thrown at him until he's able to enter wear Toji down, or due to his rate of growth and learning, he'd eventually become a Special grade on the level of Gojo and Sukuna.
Toji can't protect his soul with curse energy like everyone else, so for both of them if toji has soul split or inverted spear, it's a case of who hits who first. And toji has shown to be much quicker.

I've said this before if you out scale mahito you can literally beat mahito to a pulp and force him to use up all his curse energy which is where his healing comes from so without cursed energy he can't heal
Mahitos healing isnt his technique. Its just a special property of the way he is as a curse. So unless a character can be aware of the shape of their own soul, they cant beat mahito.

First, regarding the Culling Game Incarnated Sorcerers, I think that they can harm Mahito due to taking over another's body and having their souls in conflict, but they also would lose if Mahito got his hands on them a couple of times (like what was stated with Todo), as they do not have the ability to intentionally attack/defend the soul, only doing so as a subconscious thing from the possession. They are not Sukuna and able to stop intrusions into their soul and attack back. And about Toji winning, I think that it fully depends on if he has the Soul Splitting Blade with him. Being able to see the soul means nothing if you cannot hit it, the Heavenly Restriction does not give the ability to hit/damage souls, only to perceive them, so without it, the battle is just one of attrition that Mahito would win due to not taking any meaningful damage and wearing Toji out.
The fact that he can use the soul splitter at all is proof. Seeing the soul is what allows one to hit it, read the mahito vs itadori fight again, the reason he can damage mahitos soul is because he can see the contours of it. Toji blitzes him (this isnt debateable) and tears his head off split soul or not.

For me its a simple one, Toji is superior in every way aside from cursed technique. Does Mahitos technique work, if yes Toji cant protect himself with cursed energy like Nanami did. That would be the only way that Mahito could get a win in, IF he gets to use it. Otherwise Toji wins straight up.
Mahito wouldn't touch toji at all Todo and yuji are able to dodge mahito and toji is much much faster and got precog literally naoya who is much faster than mahito wasn't able to land a single hit on maki while in the air

I have a question does mahito’s way of using idle transfiguration to heal himself use cursed energy. It should as it’s a technique, so is it just more efficient and uses less energy than the conventional healing curses use.
I think it uses just about as much cursed energy has him normally transfiguring himself does, It is probably more efficient than making entirely new limbs yeah

Being strong is not really a counter to Mahito's technique, it just means he cannot kill you in a tap or 1 attempt.
Nanami was still harmed by Mahito's technique, Nanami just was not completely transfigured because he instinctively protected his soul with curse energy.

To debate the soul argument, Kenjaku(I think it's this same scene just one sentence later) did say that Mahito's perception of his soul can be unique to him as he can perceptive the soul as well, but he views it differently. I think their trying to hint that CT, CE, and soul reinforcement are something relative and the perception of it is unique to what the user "thinks" CE & the soul are.
You can defend your soul with your perception of it, but the method will be in adjacent to how you perceptive the soul & body are.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, Kenjaku was hinting that every theory about the soul is true. However, it is true because that is how you(the user) perceptive it.

4:24 - Kenjaku hints that certain techniques can have their own workings. We see Toji's body overtaking someone's soul, so it is more than likely that Kenjaku's explanation that both are one and the same IS the truth, but for Mahito specifically his soul takes precedence.

With all CT and pretty much everything in JJK the idea of the soul depends on the perception of the person. For Kenny & Toji the body comes first, for Mahito the soul does.

I don't know but i think the Inverted Spear of Heaven can cancel out Domain Expansions just like Cursed Techniques because Domain Expansions are just a curse user/ curse's CT but expanded. Meaning if toji hits the outside of the DE technique with the ISOH a couple times, it will probably get the Domain cancelled

It is wild to me that whenever a character explains how their technique works people just assume it’s 100% true even when we know for a fact that slightly misrepresenting your technique while being technically truthful is a key component of a sorcerer fight.
