@@michaelwalsh2327man. That's crazy. I only drink about 200-400 mg a day for the past, Idk 6 months. Working alot. I hate how energy drinks are demonized but coffee is accepted by everyone. People will drink one coffee when they wake up, another during the work, and another at 4pm after they're finished, but I will be the bad guy for drinking one monster in the morning. Baffling.
That is not probably what other people are thinking, but coffee (additives like milk, sugar whatever excluded) is probably a better choice than energy drinks. Negative effects about caffeine usually come from studies on caffeine itself, not the coffee. Sorry, I don't know whether I can explain it very well, but coffee beans contain other beneficial compounds like chlorogenic and quinic acid, polyphenols etc which protect cardiovascular system, maintains stable blood glucose levels and act as antioxidants. Generally those compounds are not present in energy drinks. Good analogy would be sugar vs beetroots which contain sugar. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that you are a fool for drinking monster for breakfast but I just wanted to point out that there is some logic behind, even if majority is not aware of it. Also, of course, the caffeine from 10 cups of coffee would probably negate the positive effects that the aforementioned compounds give to your body.
The thing is that monster doesn't have just caffeine tho also it's alot of caffeine in one go compared to 3 split dosages. Idc either I'll drink monster every leg day 😂.

At first it was just to get a boost at the gym when I'm tired from classes, until I started dabbling with energy drinks and stronger coffee. When those stopped working during Finals week, I started to pull all nighters relying on black coffee and stronger energy drinks to get that ZIP, eventually I noticed I started to not gain any more energy when drinking them and I'll just be really tired and sleepy with my heart beating so fast, I'd have 10-12 hour naps and wake up sleepy and have to force myself to wake up with cold water. Though now I've supplemented my caffeine with milk (I love milk, it's my favorite drink) and it has slowly been helping me reduce my caffeine intake and my need for it! I still drink coffee time to time but I no longer have a crippling reliance to it as I once did!
The people at my office who drink 4-8 cups off coffee a day are very woried about me drinking two energy drinks a day(which are equivalent to 3 cups of coffee).
I tested limiting caffeine on just two cups before 11am (roughly 450 mg) and never more after, and the result was that I got higher energy levels throughout the day and much better sleep. Highly recommended.
Isnt it still a lot? I am not sure but it seems like a lot. Strong energy drinks have like 300mg. Any progress is great, but I think you should limit it further
I can consume an ungodly amount of caffeine but I still try to keep it at or under 600mg a day so I can sleep at some point lol. 1000mg is nothing for me over a workday, though.

Managed to reduce it to 1 cup a day (usually at arround 5 pm, half an hour before i go to the gym) and i feel way healthier. My sleep is better, my brain is not as foggy as it used to be and my digestion issues went away almost completely
The minimum tolerable intake of caffeine is zero. It was funny how you said "causes it to become sort of like an addiction". Caffeine is an addictive chemical, that's not a controversial statement.
I remember drinking many energy drinks in high school, one day i even drank 3. I had such a bad headache, but thats not what made me cut out energy drinks. It was acid reflux and sleep deprivation. But man, even if i drink one energy drink on a single day for some reason, i get an intense headache again and it reminds me why i stopped.
I'm starting out as a powerlifter right now and have never really had any caffeine. However, it's kind of stupid to try making it through 5 hour sbd days or the real deal that my sbd days are trying to mimicking - competitions - without any caffeine to keep me fresh is unrealistic. I could do it without caffeine, but I'd not be as dialed in which stunts progress and increases injury risk. Other than the one tablet containing 200mg of caffeine I have on big sbd days (which is, on average, less than once a week since I don't take it on deload sbd days) I don't take caffeine. I also don't take any other drugs (including alcohol, nicotine, and virtually any substance possibly detrimental to one's health). I appreciate the risks associated with caffeine and think that I've made an appropriate decision on the use of it for me to be happy and healthy.
Everything is better in moderation. I agree you should try to avoid excessive numbers, and track how much you drink per day (just like you're probably doing with food), I do not drink alcohol, smoke or consume drugs, caffein is my only vice". Good video
Exactly, moderation is key. But caffeine isn't something you need to live, like water. It's a performance enhancer with many positive, but also negative side effects, even when consumed in moderation.
Sounds a lot like "Rat poison is good for you because everything is bad if you dose it high enough" Drinking too much water or milk cannot do the same as drinking too much caffeine. Have you tried drinking too much water? You can not exactly do it by accident, like you can with caffeine. It also has no boosting effect like caffeine so you are not pushed to do so.
The timing on this is insane. I overdosed on pre-workout yesterday and couldnt sleep until 3am, shaking for multiple hours after taking it. (I did hit my new Deadlift PR tho, so it was worth it)
yea, but too much alcohol for example is not as normalized, people are stupid so they still normalize it when you do it sometimes. The problem is how accessible and normalized that shit is
In my experience, caffeine is a mixed bag. I twnd ro cycle it , when i get to a point where i am used to it , without going over one or two cups a day, I start to feel the same maybe worse since it can dehydrate you, at that point i quit it for a couple of months to reset. Wondering if i should bother going bakc on it. The main thing i want yo point out is caffeine shouldn't be used as something to rely on for energy, but as something to add on top of a healthy diet, exercise and sunlight. At the end of the day you will get tires caffeine or not , your body will give in at some point, there is no escaping it
There’s a reason I only take caffeine with my pre workout. My current one has 200mg of caffeine, which I find to be more than enough. I want to try to keep it as low as possible. I think relying on caffeine to keep you awake is generally a bad idea. Also cycling off sometimes is a good idea, I usually do it alongside deloads and whenever I’m on holiday. Not very hard when I only use caffeine for the gym anyways.
Definitely, we need more awareness, but the true question is how to make people actually follow the advice. We've got an obesity crisis in most contries, but people already know that eating too much is what's causing it.
Coffe is only a deuretic in the first few doses. Your body quickly gets used to the deuretic. Also a cup of coffe is still a cup of coffee. So it does NOT really dehydrate you! Im also very skeptical off caffiene being a cause for anxiety disorders vs the opposite where people who are anxious drink a lot of caffeine.
I used to drink like 2 cans of coffee per day, and then I started having these anemia symptoms like tingling feet and face, brain fog and loss of balance. I went to the doc and got my blood tested and it returned with a b12 deficiency result, further testing found this antibody called “anti-intrinsic factor” in my stomach, and the doc said my stomach made it so that my intestines couldn’t absorb enough b12 vitamin, even tho I ate quite a lot of meat. I dunno if caffeine had anything to do with what happened to my stomach and my b12 deficiency, I quit it just in case. However I do miss the boost of energy, focus and productivity it gave me.
Also keep in mind that non-herbal tea like green tea contains theïne which is an equivolant to caffeïne... almost every beverage that's not water/milk/herbal tea contains some amount of / variation of caffeïne... which is why even though I temporarily quit it I've come back as it was too hard/constraining to never drink anything with caffeïne in it.

I always get anxious when consuming even only 100+ mg of caffeine. Therefore it's really rare for me to drink energy drinks or coffee. And I have never taken pre workout in my entire life
Maybe it's me, but I can't lift on caffeine. EVERY single time, I come home early with an injury. I'll end up with bad form or my eyes get too big for my weights, or sometimes I just have a bad jerky motion and pull a muscle. I always want to do pre-workout but have just learned I can't safely. My cardio loves a coffee before or after though. If I do it before I'll get the distance and speed I want, if I do it after, I keep that high energy I earned on the run.
the 300-400 mg is that for a 5.7 roughly 80kg, or is that roughly everyone bcs organ size (heart) is roughly similar. or are we talking beer rules of bigger & more built up resistance = less affect on health impacts or slightly higher capacity of the stated number. Sounds like I'm arguing but more just curious
It says on EVERY Good Pre Workout Booster not to take more then 2 Scoops at once with 300 ml of Water. When they ignore that Warning its their own fault i am not sorry.
Many people are unaware of this for whatever reason, but caffeine is a toxin. It only gives you a "rush" because you're a large organism(the "rush" is an adrenaline rush because it's a toxin, so the body thinks it's in danger and produces adrenaline. along with interrupting Adenosine receptors as he mentioned). Smaller organisms like insects die immediately from it because it's there to deter animals who would try to eat the plant as a protective mechanism. That's also why people always add sugar and milk to coffee. Because it tastes like garbage without it. Of course it tastes bitter, as your taste buds recognize the toxins and try to warn you. Needless to say though, it won't cause significant damage, although it does technically get you closer to death. It speeds up your metabolism and heart rate, which equals aging faster. And the damage from caffeine, while small in isolation, certainly accumulates over time. So if you do choose to drink caffeine, I wouldn't stop you, but just realize you're essentially microdosing a toxin and shortening your life to cover up your lack of energy that stems from your bad diet or lack of sleep.
it took me like 3 months to get off caffeine. I think its as bad as any other drug tbh. had high anxiety and all that stuff. I also got off melatonin cause i couldn't sleep without it lmao. melatonin just made me feel sluggish all day and i was doubling the dose a lot.
the only people who need caffeine are the people who drink it every day its a drug and youre just addicted people who never drink caffeine have more energy its all about a good sleep cycle

I used to drink energy drinks daily but then anxiety attacks hit me durint sleep, so i stopped drinking them daily and only on weekends
Digestive system: rocksolid. Heart: dunno. Mental Health: not ready to not have caffeine to day, saved video to watch later.
In Poland, to buy energy drinks you need to show ID. They have the same legal age as alcohol.
but you can buy cofee without ID. its all fake panic to protect teh children and make you stand longer in queues while having your liberties reduced
Whats the RDA for silica gel packets I need to know ASAP
zoomers cant stand small caffeine doses anymore and people tell me there is nothing wrong with younger generations
I can say that Coffee f**ks up my Sleep quality so i stop drinking it 5 hours before i go to Sleep.
the 300-400 mg is that for a 5.7 roughly 80kg, or is that roughly everyone bcs organ size (heart) is roughly similar. or are we talking beer rules of bigger & more built up resistance = less affect on health impacts or slightly higher capacity of the stated number. Sounds like I'm arguing but more just curious
Larger people will have a higher tolerance; but that range should probably cover most people

I don't drink caffee because I have built in caffeine.
It says on EVERY Good Pre Workout Booster not to take more then 2 Scoops at once with 300 ml of Water. When they ignore that Warning its their own fault i am not sorry.
Its crazy that in América drinking 3 things that are meant for human consumption can kill you
Ive been using 1g everyday, sometimes up to 1.5g when doing night shift. I’m cooked
Good coffee tastes incredible without sugar and milk
it took me like 3 months to get off caffeine. I think its as bad as any other drug tbh. had high anxiety and all that stuff. I also got off melatonin cause i couldn't sleep without it lmao. melatonin just made me feel sluggish all day and i was doubling the dose a lot.
Melatonin supplements were proven to not do shit. Great job quiting caffeine
the only people who need caffeine are the people who drink it every day its a drug and youre just addicted people who never drink caffeine have more energy its all about a good sleep cycle
Me with 1500 mgs consumed before 9 am
ok, no more cwoffee i guess
