I am a speech language pathologist and you are doing it all right!
Just want parents and carers to know that teaching and using sign does NOT reduce verbal language development. It actually can really HELP your child to speak verbally 👌🏾
Have faith in JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR for HE SAVES from hell❗️
*What is the Gospel?*
The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Romans 10:9

Thank you so much for this comment. I'm really interested in tecahing my baby to sign but speech development was a concern so it's good to know that it assists and doesn't hinder!
At what age can you realistically start baby sign language? I have a 3 month old, so wondering when I should start.
@@AmallieGamesnever too early to start. I started around 4 Mos and now baby is 6mos. She kinda does milk but might be in my head. I am glad I started for my own sake. I am not great with routines and learning how to incorporate things in daily life so I am learning bc it is important for baby, kids, and people in general. I learned twinkle twinkle little star a month ago and I do that for her and the alphabet and she LOVES it. She loves hand movements from like 2 Mos old. so if nothing else it's another way to play with our babies imo.
I love that you are teaching Sage sign! My degree is in Education of the Deaf, and you have inspired me to work on this with my daughter at home. I will say that toddlers think very concrete at this age, so teaching her concrete concepts before abstract should be helpful for her to understand. Think “hurt” or “sleepy” before “please” or “thank you.”
Thank you for the tip! I will definitely keep that in mind as it makes sense. Also so happy to hear you’re inspired to do it with you’re own daughter.
The strange thing is that while my girls were born in the early 80’s and I nursed both … it was one of my most memorable and loving things I’ve ever done. To see you nurse Sage so openly is wonderful, Nikole. Thanks for sharing your mom journey - even for us senior citizens. We remember with love, ❤️ Oh, I think it’s time to dig out toddler photos of you and Matt and compare to toddler Sage. I’ll place my bet on she looks like toddler Matt. Have a great holiday. 🎄
I absolutely agree I’ve been doing this with my 2yo since 6m and it’s grown into manners when he says thank you or you’re welcome he will do the sign and say it as well. I always get people asking me when I started teaching him. Now I’m doing it with my 9m as well and he recognizes he can talk to him. It’s really cool. Good job mama you go!!
I love that this video was real and showed real life and not overly edited so that I could understand what possibly could happen. Thank you for making this video!
I am 35 weeks pregnant and I definitely want to give this a try with our son!
I work full time but my maternity leave is for 3 months.. this may be challenging but I want to give it a try :) thanks for the video!!
Love how Cashew was being so gentle trying to take the treat from Sage's little hand....while really wanting it and salivating all over the place lol 😁❤ Dogs are just so precious 🥰❤
Thank you Nikole, so wonderful to see Sage so chatty and lively throughout the vlog. Take care 💞
I started showing my baby signs a few months ago because I loved how Sage used them! I would be interested to see a video of you talking about how Sage's eating progressed through the 6 months you started feeding her foods and decreased milk. My baby is 7 months but I am so scared to start solids 😬
She has such a fun little personality developing! I can’t get enough of her tooth gap and smile. So stinking cute!!
Ahh I love seeing this! This is one of the best things you can do for your baby. I teach it to all of the kids I nanny
Sage is the most entertaining little girl HAHAHAHA when she was drinking her water I absolutely DIED! and that scream was hilarious hahahaha. She's such a happy baby!
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 been waiting for this!! Can’t wait to teach my girl!!
I love watching sage because my little guy is similar ages, 10/30/20 and it amazes me how every baby is truely different. She so cute and adorable. I'm hard of hearing and been signing since I was 2 years old. I been signing to my son since he was a newborn and he still hasn't caught on, LOL. He has done "all done" a few times, and "milk" but its true, every baby learns at their own paste.
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 love from your Instafam!! Literally stockpiling these videos for when it’s my time ❤️ Thank you!
Between those gurgles in the cup and the sneezes. 🤣🥰 Too much cute. This is such a great video to share.
Thank you for sharing great information! I have been teaching my son basic sign language since he was 6mo and now he is almost 11mo, only sign he knows is Milk. It is difficult for me to teach him sign language because I speak him in my language but in a household, every speaks English. (I speak English to my husband) So I am not sure in which language I should stick with but this sign language definitely help to communicate with him :)
You guys are such amazing parents wow
Thank you for all your tips you bring to your videos. I love ❤️ your videos.
I love your content and want to thank you for providing wholesome things! I can’t wait to start sign with my baby! I also live in Orlando and will have to go check out Disney Springs!
Hi Nicole
You are really an inspiration to all new moms. Could you please do a video on how Sagey is eating so well? I am sure you would have done some things right from the beginning. Loads of love to Sage
It’s adorable when little ones are doing sign language. I learned when I was about 7.
Dear Nicole, you look amazing! Thank you for the video, I was so interested in the topic and you explained everything just in time! I will start practicing sign language with my 7 months old tomorrow!
That’s the perfect age!
even though i dont have a baby or not gonna have one so soon, at least not in a decade, i think this is literally so cool and i wanna try it with my baby someday 😊
How old is Sage now? I’ve been teaching ASL to my daughter since around 7 months or so, and still going strong at 17 months. Bill Vicars is a great resource for learning ASL. I find I learn the signs then repeat them throughout the day. ASL is a language, some only communicate with it - there’s so much depth to it and it’s fun to learn. Not just for kids and not just to communicate before verbal words - I’d suggest thinking long term and teaching ASL as a second language. It’s so beneficial and under rated! Also, what high chair is that? Looks so practical!

That's great initiative and intervention at the earliest stage. I used to work with deaf children too and introducing them and their parents sign language. My youngest was 3.5 years. My area was communication
Brilliant! Thank you 🙏🏼
Really inspiring..our daughter is 4m in a few days and we will start with 3 signs and see how it goes
Love from Italy
She's so adorable. And very smart! ❤️
Hi there. I’m watching from Alberta, Canada. I’m just curious. What collagen are you using? Love your videos. Sage is super cute.
It’s so funny how in this video she didn’t really want to sign with you, but in all your other videos I’ve seen her doing them all the time🤣
This is inspiring! Thank you for taking the time to record and share!!
Can I ask what kind of highchair/seat she has? I love it!!
I have taught the same signs to my little girl too! She is nearly 14 months now and has been doing them for a while. It really helps hey!! :)
Where is this high chair from? Xx
Just wanted to say Hello :) been watching for a few months now, I live in Niagara, Ontario and my little guy is about the same age as Sage ( George was born nov30th 2020) I really enjoy your content and as a new content creator myself I definitely look up to you with much respect :) Keep up the awesomeness lol your amazing
Nicole, thank you a lot for all you videos! We are always looking them with my 1-year old Harry together! 💙💙💙
Can you tell, does Sage wake up at night and do you breastfeed her at night time?
You are amazing mom and beautiful best of luck and your beautiful family I love watching your videos
Came here to learn something about ASL and spent 10 minutes watching a random families morning .
Skipping ahead is an option!
How often do you nurse her and what do you do to keep your milk supply up? I worry if I go too long between nursing sessions, I'll run dry!
this is so amazing and I love how capable little ones are of knowing what they need, when they need it - the struggle is they aren’t able to communicate it. this is a beautiful way to be able to communicate with your baby and eliminate so much frustration for baby and for you! so valuable, and I can’t wait to do this with mine, I’m due in May.
I bet you could even do elimination communication with this baby sign language method, and it would make potty training much easier since they can communicate their need
Hey Shayla incorporated this into EC. Check her videos on EC, very helpful! Wishing you a wonderful pregnancy - I am due in March.
@@cynthia3207 awesome, will do! I wish you a safe and healthy pregnancy & delivery!
I have to say I absolutely love your videos there so inspiring. I’m going to be ordering a sign language book from Amazon today! My daughter is 3 and already using the “more” and “milky” sign. Thank you so much 😊
That moment when Sage put her food on the book....hahaha. So relatable. Where is the sign for that one??
You are amazing mom.
Great video! What herbal coffee do you use?
I taught my daycare kids simple signs :)
Hi, what high chair is this? We are looking for one we can attach to the counter!
What coffee alternative do you drink??
Hello beautiful Nicole, I am just starting with sign language at 4 months old and the video is super helpful. I love your content, I really really do. You are so interesting and close to my mindset
Sending you love from Bulgaria 🇧🇬 ❤️
Sage is so pretty! 😍
Looks so Yummy. Thank a lot go for your effort.
Where did you get the utensils for her ?? Soo adorable 😍
Where did you get those shorts? I know this is late but I’m 6 months PP and in need of some long shorts
Thanks!
Where is your silk button up from?
Hey Mama, what kind of high chair is Sage using?

So happy to hear!!
We’re you teaching her all of these at the same time? Or just one at a time?
I swear it sounds like Sagey saying ‘hi yal’ @0:57
Gorgeous baby
Hi, I was wondering what you use to clean the counter top with? I want to start feeding my daughter on the counter tops as well sometimes but, not sure what to use to clean them! Thanks for the video my daughter can do a little sign language as well so cute!! She is still working on it 😊
I recommend the Method brand ☺️
Thank you I'll take a look and I appreciate it 😊

Awesome mama
I was born without hearing until the age of twelve and a half.. which would take writing a novel here to explain why I’m a hearing person today. It starts off with me weighing only 2 pounds, 2 ounces at birth in 1962. I studied at the John Tracy (Spencer Tracy’s son) clinic for the deaf where I learned how to sign, read lips and say enough words to verbally ask for what I needed. I managed to retain the knowledge of signing bc I had a deaf friend that I communicated with all the time. It’s true what they say though, if you don’t use it you’ll lose it bc I doubt I could hold a conversation in sign language today. I had my first child in 1986 and my second to follow in 1988. Both friends and family thought it was silly and a waste of time to teach my babies to sign at first. They just figured if my kids truly didn’t “need” to sign their way through life then what was the point??? Nobody ever thought it odd to learn a new verbal language in school such as Spanish, I don’t know why sign language should be any different. 🤷🏻♀️ As you can clearly see by this video, it’s an excellent tool to teach your baby to communicate while he/she hasn’t quite mastered their verbal skills yet. Most crying fits/tantrums are due to frustration bc babies can’t communicate what they want or need. You may not ever see those terrible two’s if your kid knows sign language. LoL Another quick tip, if you sit your kid(s) down to watch Dora the explorer or their favorite Disney movie (etc..) always have closed captioning turned on whenever possible. This will also teach them verbal skills.. along with reading skills too! 😊
Thank you so much for sharing your story 🤍
Can you please tell me which probiotic powder you giving to your beautiful princes please I’m looking for a good one
So cute 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Love from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳
Hope we stay connected 😊😊
I want a herbal coffee too!😮 No link for herbal coffee?😢
What herbal coffee do you use Nikole?? I need it, haha
Such a neat way to feed her, a little at a time. It's amazing seeing her grow up before our eyes!
It’s pretty common, helps to prevent waste.
Sooooo cute
What herbal coffee do you drink?
I’ve been teaching my 8mo old sign since he was 6 and I agree it’s all about repetition. Also- what “highchair” is that?
That’s really the secret! I’ll find the link for it ☺️
I also want to know which highchair is please! My 1 year old baby doesn't want to sit in her chair anymore 😂
I'm currently starting sign for my 7 month old so this came at an amazing time!
Oh the same with me! My daughter is also 7 months :)))
Yay!! Happy signing ☺️
This is exactly how I train my dog new skills
It’s funny you said that because I do feel like there are similarities 🤣
@@HealthNutNutrition it definitely makes me feel more ready to teach our daughter once she’s here!
Thanks for all your tips😊
Nice keep support💓

I love the kisses 💕that was too sweet

does anyone know which high chair that is?
My guess is guss and guzzie brand, product called the perch
@@caitlynpurich8184 thank you!
My children will still use some signs up until about 3 years old.
That’s so cool!

How old is she in this video?
😍😍💜💜💜🌌💌
I don't know how this time flies she was a little, now hair teeth 😂
My newborn had a full head of hair lol.
@@surlespasdondine that's good 👍I do believe that your child cute too ;)
What drives me crazy about this is most parents are told my medical professionals to NOT sign with their deaf babies and that is just so detrimental. Language is UBER important. The reason hearing parents do this now is because research showed that hearing babies of DEAF parents had better vocabularies and acquired language earlier as well.
this video was a little too long, I just wanted to get to the key points of signing and not an over explanation to all these extra things.
Does a year old is too late? :/
I wish she would get to the point on how she taught sign language and not all that ridiculous stuff we don’t care about about her food and All the other stuff we don’t care about

Literally became a baby channel. I’m out.
You said that 10mths ago yet here you still are🤔
Please don't alter ASL. She's waving because it's babble. just like they can't pornounce words at first when they start to speak, same thing with ASL- it won't be articulated perfectly at first.. keep signing the actual sign even when she doesn't sign it correctly. Also the Deaf community is your best resource. It's their language.
Baby sign language is NOT the same as ASL
Love this concept. Thanks for sharing! Tips: you totally missed the baby communication with Sage at the beginning of the video. When your baby speaks jibber jabber, you are supposed to respond as though it's a real conversation. Because... that's what's what she's thinking! Your video is too too long. Please, just get to the point. I don't care about your personal life!!! Get on with how you taught your baby sign language. I mean really, do we really need all the details about your breakfast!! Are you so vain about breastfeeding? Lady you over killed what you were trying to achieve!!!
Wow! You're sooo rude!!! First of all, she is a vlogger. Do you know what that means? It means she vlogs her life. You can skip ahead if you wanted to just get straight to the topic. Take your rudeness somewhere else. She is doing an amazing job and her baby is thriving. You sound bitter and jealous.
@@jf.7599 😂😂
You’re being unnecessarily rude!
I loved this vid I’m a first time mommy and I’m currently pregnant learning asl to teach to my little one so there’s no gap in communication 🥹🫶🏽✨
P.s. the end of the video was too kute lol
