I just bought one for 20 dollars that needed descaling, the owner was a girl who thought it was broken LOL, I just descaled it and I'm enjoying a nice hot cappuccino!
Oh good lord…I was at someone’s house this week with a popular $700 machine and the integrated grinder stopped working. 7 year old machine and NEVER had be cleaned. I looked at it, good cleaning, and works perfectly. They were throwing it out but now are very grateful and learned a valuable youtube lesson as I diagnosed the need in 2 mins with youtube videos.
Thanks. After seeing the useless DeLonghi tutorial that prefers putting an annoying background music rather than instructions (written or voiced over) your video was the one guiding me through the process
Hi. Most commonly overseen, is that after the descaling prosess is stopped, you have to refill the water canister and push the steam button once more to start the rinsing cycle. Secondly the remember to turn the steam knob up in the brewing position again. Try to do the whole cycle again just with water.
Mine won’t even do it. The orange light is still on and the other two are flashing. I hate this machine. It’s not user friendly at all. Shouldn’t even need to be descaled, we hardly use it cause every time I do I need to figure out why the stupid thing isn’t working 😩
Hi. Don't be discouraged. It is probably a common problem. You are probably not holding the steam button down long enough. If the steam button is not held down long enough, it will produce steam. If the flashing sequence does not start after 5 seconds, try 10 seconds. When you press the steam button, the light on the buttons will go out. Then hold the button until you see the first button start to flash. Then you can release the steam button. The sequence is one cup flashes 2 times, two cups flashes 2 times and the steam button flashes 2 times repetitively. Then swing the steam lever down and press the steam button shortly once more. Remember to have a bowl underneath.
Hi I did descaling completely wrong I filled the water tank with solution then I was basically turning dial and pressing button to make coffee then putting it back to steam position. I did it like this the whole tank then realised I was doing it wrong. Eventually I did descaling correctly however Im still not sure If my coffee would not have some of the solution 😭 can anyone please tell me is it safe to make a coffee? 😅
To anybody who owns this machine. Remove plastic from inside of stock handle, saw it off or get aftermarket one. Plastic in stock one drastically changes taste.
Hi. Thank you for your comment. There is a Philips screw underneath the handle if you want to remove the plastic insert and experiment with the taste difference. The spring for the basket can easily be pulled out and replaced with the fingers.
I have followed the instructions on descaling and rinsing . The orange light does not stop flashing. Any ideas on what to do now? Solved. I followed your instructions and respected the importance of the complete rinse cycle and bye bye orange light. Your video is the first of many I have watched that helped me. Thank you.
Sorry to hear that. Most misses that this is done in two stages. If you dont complete the rinse cycle the orange light wont turn of. Please watch the whole video again.
No your video misses a few vital details. You should remove it before you waste anyone else’s time or money. Helpful Phil does a good video that actually works
I have reviewed Helpful Phils video and he looks like a nice guy. But, Helpful Phil does exactly the same procedure that I do. Good to get a confirmation that I'm going it right. Except that he flips the steam knop up and down between the cleaning and rinsing steps which is not necessary. After refilling the water reservoir with water, just push the steam button to start the rinsing cycle. It is not necessary to remove the steam wand or fill the water tank twice to begin with either. But, you can if you want to. If you like Helpful Phil better, its OK. Have a nice day.

You are the best and simple video. The other are a lot complicated. 🎉

@kaffipausen Try with water, it will taste like plastic.

@@kaffipausen Thank you and it is clean as a whistle.
How have you done it?
@@hrantkocharyan691 Remenber to also do the rinsing process. Go to timestamps 3:30 and 4:00😀
Have you removed the water filter?
Hi. The machines sold in Norway does not have a waterfilter, because we generally have soft water.
@@kaffipausen got ya, thanks for the prompt response
