#theboysseason3 #theboys #billybutcher
Amazon Primes hit show The Boys is ramping up their marketing for Season 3. Showing the first trailer for season 3 we can see that the members of the Boys are finally going to be receiving their super powers. Todays video covers the comic book history of The Boys super powers, when they obtained them, and what they are.
The Boys is a vigilante, CIA black ops team tasked with policing, monitoring and potentially stopping the corporate superhero group, The Seven. The group was founded by Grace Mallory who recruited the members: Billy Butcher, Frenchie and Mother's Milk. However Grace retired after her grandchildren were burned by The Lamplighter, causing The Boys to be disbanded. Until 5 years later when the group was reformed and then led by the violent vigilante, Billy Butcher. Butcher went on to reunite with his old teammates as well as recruiting Hughie Campbell and The Female.
As the Boys continued their search to find proof against Vought, Frenchie encountered a Supe terrorist, though initially violent towards them, The Female became another member of The Boys.
After Butcher becomes aware that Becca, his wife, is still alive, he neglects the group and for a short time, and leadership falls under the control of Mother's Milk. Until Butcher returns and reclaims leadership of The Boys.[1]
After the super-villain attack at the Congressional Hearing; which resulted in the deaths of the Chairman, Jonah Vogelbaum, Shockwave and several others; The Boys were once again officially deputized as CIA Operatives, supervised by Colonel Grace Mallory and overseen by Congresswoman Victoria Neuman (Who is secretly herself the super-villain behind the congressional attack).
The Boys were responsible for the public leak of Stormfront's real identity as a Nazi conspiring to begin a race war, and later worked with Starlight and Queen Maeve to rescue Butcher's step-son Ryan from Homelander, and defeat Stormfront, who they brutally beat into submission along with The Female.
Their name derives from a Cockney slang term for a gang or posse that dispenses street justice; "When you need someone hurt, you send The Boys after 'em."
Mother's Milk
Frenchie
The Female
Hughie Campbell
Billy Butcher
Starlight
The Seven is the most popular and powerful American Superhero team owned by Vought International. With Homelander being the only one directly created by Vought, all other members of The Seven and replacements were confirmed to have been raised outside of Vought (excluding Black Noir who's background is still unknown). While The Seven operate as a superhero team and stop crimes, in reality, every action is only fuel to increase Vought's stock prices and Public Relations.
Original members of The Seven include: Homelander, Queen Maeve, Black Noir, Mister Marathon, The Deep, Translucent and Lamplighter. What happened to Mister Marathon is currently unknown, but afterwards, he was replaced by A-Train as The Seven's speedster. Развлечения

One of my favorite show
Get to the fucking point. Two minutes of nothing.
I feel like they gave Homelander the creepy milk dependency instead of MM
Definitely
@@Lethalbanter 100%💀
I’m glad😂
Naw its him just having an Oedipus complex
MM?
I personally enjoy the show more than the comics tbh… because most of the characters in the show did nothing in the comics so it’s refreshing to see how some of the characters have personalities
They're more fleshed out on the show.
The show also doesn't have the super hateful attitude towards superheroes that the comics do, and present it more as a thoughtful joke than hate thinly veiled as commentary lol
@@thehoodednerd6930 it’s satire in the same way Scream is a satire of slasher horror, it takes itself completely serious and also doesn’t at the same time.
@@apotsmokinjedi i mean if we are talking the show absolutely, if your saying that about the comics.....unfortunately no, Garth Ennis has always been abundantly cynical and overly bitter towards superhero stories, and the boys was basically his way of hatefucking the genre
In the comics, everybody looks like a semi-reformed addict right out of prison. Especially Hughie.
Butcher going the way of his comic counterpart is very unlikely. He has been through so much character growth the comic version never went through.
Update: I think season 3 proves my point. He went close enough to the comic book version but still couldn't do it and showed two moments of heroism. At this point Butcher sacrificing his life is far more possible than going nutts and killing everyone.
Update: For those who wanna say "this aged poorly" after season 4's finale, there's an entire other season left, plus another season of Gen V. For all we know, Ryan can still go through developments that would change him enough that Butcher would change his mind and be convinced by his good side to back down.
I mean he did just lost his wife a second time 😬
Yeah, I doubt he’ll be out to kill all supes given he promised Becca that Ryan will be safe.
@@shaymurphy4951 Yes but he managed to break out of the cycle of violence. He was about to attack Ryan but he didn't even was kind to him. He didn't went through with his plan to separate the boy from his wife and he showed far more empathy toward his team mates. He even became friendly with Annie. You're saying they are gonna throw all of that away? The end of his comic book story has already been adapted: Butcher at the end of the first season left his team to die for his revenge seeking.
@@Drifter1989 And his friendly with Annie now, is far more friendly with his team and has gone through lots of growth. Also those comics are fucking trash, Eric Kripke is a genius for making a great show out of them and I think he's gonna avoid those plot lines.
@@Ali-bu6lo yeah in the comics homelander is bisexual and fucks other guy hero’s and tell them he will get them in the 7😂😂😂 I don’t want that for our homelander
it seems like instead of black noir being a clone of homelander they’re going to give butcher the same powers as homelander in the show which i’m excited to see
@kevvale Stowe no one in the show is born with it either lol
Makes me wonder if that means Butcher is going to overwrite Black Noir’s role in the White House raid. I hope that doesn’t mean he’ll have to sacrifice himself tho.
Well it looks like he only has laser beams and super strength for now but we'll see
@@danacoleman936 Homelander is
@@danacoleman936 Actually, Ryan is the first known natural born Supe
If everyone gets unique powers I hope hughie has a speedster-esk ability, maybe not like a-train or maybe he just isn’t as fast but I’d really like to see a-train and Hughie fight. I want to see that as much as butcher vs homelander
That’s right
It kinda seemed he's moved past it. He's got a new girl and a train did assist them last season.
I think he has strength like the others but also healing abilities, like Wolverine, otherwise why would they be breaking his arm???
@@jackvearncombe9892 all/most supes and have a faster healing factor, but that varies, or maybe extreme pain activates the compound v?
I honestly hope so too
Since Hughie's arm is being broken by Kimiko in the trailer, I THINK his power will be like, super regeneration or something.
It totally fits him lol
I agree, but I also thought that maybe Hughie breaks his arm in a fight with a supe or something, and then Kimiko has to realign/socket it in place because for some reason they can’t get professional medical attention at that moment in time. She would be the only person available to crack a bone back in place if Starlight isn’t available
@@marlowemichaelson1366 could be, but I think she wouldn't be the only one capable if everyone has the V
That’d be lame lol
@@MattGarcyaDC why?
I mean he still gets his other powers like everyone, enhanced strength and whatnot, though the Super Healing would be the main one I think
I hope Butcher doesn't get too powerful
I’m kinda hoping they bring Frenchie’s enhanced sense of smell back as one of his powers, I feel like that might be a useful asset
I really hope they all get seperate powers, simply so hughie can get super speed. It'd be super poetic for him to get the power that killed the woman he loved
He has teleportation
He gets teleportation
He has teleportation
I would love if they just get the powers of the supe they hate most Butcher=Homelander, Frenchy=Lamplighter, M.M=? (Black Noire maybe?), and Hugie=A-Train
Damn because MM is black he has 2 hate Black Noire 😆
I think MM should have Stormbreaker powers
@@dominiquejones3805 why not soldier boy, his whole arc this season hs been about soldier boy
@@thefreshprince310 bc he's hate for Soldier Boy isn't revealed during S1, S2, nor the comics and the comment is made before S3 aired
I remember reading all the way back during the first season that the producers/show-runners said they weren’t going to give Butcher and the Boys superpowers like in the comics because gaining superpowers and essentially becoming a Super goes against Butcher’s personal views against Supes in general. Thankfully, it appears that they are in fact going to give the Boys Compound V.
Quite the bait and switch huh, pretty well done. Cant wait till season 3 drops
I think it's a bad move. It's more interesting to see how regular humans deal with the puzzles that killing each superhero represents. However, if you feel like two seasons has covered that, then the only place left to go for story is to give them powers.
@@jeptoungrit9000 i dont think I agree, starlight is pretty powerfull and she had to get scheming aswell
@@jeptoungrit9000 I totally get what you’re saying. Maybe the show-runners, producers, and writers jumped the gun on that front. At the very least it will level the playing field and as we know, Butcher is a brutal tactician and absolute madman when it comes to fulfilling his mission. So it’s going to be really interesting to see how crazy and far he will go and how much harder he’ll fight the Sups once he gets powers from Compound V.
@@jeptoungrit9000 not really a bad move
I hope Frenchy gets telekinesis just like Female's brother. As a way to bring him closer to her.
That would be nice.
Giving Butcher heat vision to me is nice change, it'll make him stand out a little more as well as work as a kind of parallel to homelander, both are granted similar powers but we know that Butch will use his differently.
Bruh Mephisto confirmed in Butcher’s chin
The Boys has been a great show so far, not faithful to the comics but, it has gone beyond and above to make great character development i trust the show runners in this one.
And i wasn't wrong.
Its far better than the comics.
The only way I see butcher going his comic way (in reference to the other boys) is due to v maybe corrupting his mind in the tv version? Besides that it’s nowhere in his current character, season 1 butcher though yeah.
It will be great if they make Butcher just as strong as Homelander, just so I can see a long awaited beat down.
Based off of the latest episode, hughie seems to have the ability to teleport (Though his clothes don't teleport with him which is funny)
While the BlackNoir plot twist is probably unlikely, the Butcher twist feels like it could happen. It would piss of TV Viewers but . I keep thinking these scenes of him waking up on the ground would hint and lead towards his final confrontation with Hughie where’s he’s paralyzed from the neck down and taunts Hughie into killing him.
He can be his twin, just black. CGI his facial features to looks the same as homelander
@@lorduvaltv274 wtf dude, that's fuckin' stupid
@@thebeardedaliengamer7103 🤣🤣🤣
It definitely isn't the twist from the comic as the writers said that they are not using it as it is too well know. My personal theory is that black is the son of Stan edgar
@@thomasmccaghrey9888 oooooooo that's good 👍
The show and the comics being different is cool with me. I get to enjoy two stories with some dope characters
Can’t wait for the butcher power scaling video
With the way the Trailer is, and the fact that they pretty much trashed the possibility of Black Noir being a Homelander duplicate, I think Butcher will have a carbon copy of Homelander's power set and end up being the one to eventually kill Homelander.
The whole thing is a huge metaphor for drug addiction.
Nice video man, I can’t wait for the season
Was wishing you would make more boys videos and bam - you did it.
I’m sure whatever they choose to do with the show will work for most fans of the original series. My problem with Garth’s stories are the overly gratuitous amounts of gore and violence which can often serve little to no purpose. But so far the tv series has given purpose to the violence in a way that doesn’t come off as edgy which I’m all for. As for it’s plot, a little deviation won’t hurt, and it’s looking like it’s being taken care of by a much larger crew of people to tie up the story to a more meaningful end. Whenever *that* happens.
It would be funny if hughie got immortality but he feels everything
Honestly I hope they get unique powers in the show like the Frenchman might get pyrokinesis and you might get super speed like the people they both hate respectively rather than the basic super speed super strength and super durability that was kind of 😑

L💀
Something tells me the powers will be temporary.
Thanks for pointing out the average RUclipsr reaction vids which are so cheese. That was awesome 😎
I liked how they did the powers in the comics more same with the cast. The twist at the end with homelander gets me Everytime and I actually liked seeing the main cast fight with the pill boosts.
Though I did like homelander getting a son to give him some human connections compared to the comic version how a fetus could rip open the mother getting out. Brutal stuff.
if Hughie gets powers I hope he's a speedster so he can work out to beat the shit out of A-train
huyee got teleportation in latest episode
Most comments saying how the boys will develop the powers of those they hate, kinda dislike that. I’d prefer them to have something that means something to themselves.
Some kind of regeneration for Hughie based on how he always come back and doesn’t give up.
Frenchie I can see with either something like molten hands/electrics for his tinkering skills. Or a ability to zoom in or hear better linking to how he looks deeper and listens to kimiko
M.M maybe something rage based, either the ability to calm everyone or he does a hulk and the more angry he is the more he loses control.
My anticipation is high up there with the long wait
I hope they don't all get basic superman powers
I guess being in The Boys has perks.
I feel like Butcher and MM will both have super strength. The two of them are the closest and I can see them butting heads in the future, especially if Butcher’s recklessness leads to anything happening to MM’s family. I predict Hughie gets super healing, similar to Kimiko. Frenchie’s a wild card.
All I know is if the first episode doesn’t end with The Boys are Back in Town by Thin Lizzy, I’ll be upset.
I love your videos dude pls nvr stop
Can you make videos on Hughie, Mallory, and Stillwell???
I really hope that if Butcher does end up going more like his comic counterpart then it better be for a good reason.
I thought the boys members had compound V serum injection in there bodies already. But when I look at season 3 it might feel interesting to see how they get their powers.
Since Butcher's powers sort of reflect Homelanders, I imagine that Hughie would probably have something similar to A-Train
I’m interested to see how they play it , season 1 he despised supes and now he is one , so interested to see if he hates himself as he’s what he used to hate or what ..
I like what the show is doing with Butcher. "He who fights monsters should see to it that he himself does not become a monster" (Friedrich Nietzsche).
It’d be cool if we got a video on the boys diabolical, like maybe all the new superpowers there
Can you do how strong are the fantastic four
June 3rd can’t get here fast enough.
Giving hewie super speed would be a really good idea imo because of what happen between atrain and his gf hewie would hate his powers and struggle to use them to save people an help the boys so it would give his story another good arch to follow one being that hewie struggles to accept his powers but in helping and saving peoples live he learns to accept his powers until they eventually find a way to get rid of them because to me I think the show is gonna give the boys powers but only temporarily
Ty for info was like when in the hell did kyle Urban have laser sight now that capt America is gonna get it 😂
The boys are back baby
Honestly I don’t like they’re giving The Boys powers, I think a lot of the charm of the show was that the superheroes were being hunted and marked for death by people with no powers
u cant write an story like that, u want them to be like batman, even tho batman is terribly written and full of plotarmor, how are they supposed to survive homelander without powers?
@@Uncle-Ruckus. That’s exactly the thing. That’s what’s so cool about the show. Brutal humans with a vengeance killing off supers.
@@pax_sxprano no shit
@@Uncle-Ruckus. well they could use more strategic tactics. like attacking where it hurts most money family and money because that's what they're basically in it for. to me it's either way I could go with the superpowers or not I would love to see them but if they weren't there I wouldn't really care cuz I know there would probably be other ways to get the supes
@@johnnybravosfeetfetish8319 no strategic tactics is gonna make butcher survive an punch from homelander, idk why ppl want them to be like batman, when batman is plot armor himself, he wouldnt stand an chance vs supes
So Hughie got teleportation/warping
Good vid
05:50 that happend in the show but with a normal soldier
I am so hyped
After the latest episode....I'm sure that the series won't recieve comic ending...... I mean Hughie loved his power.... despite Kimiko dying and he injected it himself..... + Butcher cares about Ryan....Who was supposed to be dead in comics....
My guess is hughie would get hyper regeneration and possibly enhanced intelligence maybe strength as well
I was finding Soldier Boy origin in your channel but didn't
I could only see them giving hughie super speed if they bring back Atrains brother to mentor hughie
Personally I think they should remain without powers, makes more since with their mission. and intriguing because of how vulnerable they are.
It gets stale if it keeps happening. If they keep somehow escaping from people way stronger and more wealthy than them then it just becomes plot armour. This was a needed change
Agreed it will be full of contrivances and will definitely make them wear a very thick plot armor. Also the boys aren't known for ethics and ideals. They will do anything to kill the supes even by becoming one of them. Being called hypocrites isn't in one of their "fucks to give" Lists.
Nah, too much plot armor
And it would be stupid and unrealistic how far the Boys have been alive and survived against the Supes. How long until Supes don't care about their reputation and blackmailing them don't work? What then🤨?
@@jacksonkohm5020Petty much supernatrual
I really hope Butcher doesn’t kill everyone on the team like in the comics. That would destroy me
Frr
Everyone expect Hughie died in the comic books
where can i watch season 3
plot twist ending season 3.. after homelander loosing power after fighting soulja boy, homelander join the boys.. new mission is to defeat soulja boy in season 4
Butcher is going to be like Zod for superman.
Butcher could have the same abilities as Homelander and possibly be able to go toe to toe with him
Yeah I kinda hope they take the story in a different direction than the comics. As much as I like them, I can see the story improving.
The ending of the boys in the comics is literally the author being bored of his toys and breaking them.
I hope they get flight as well
They should make Hughie have the power to negate all powers in a radius of him maybe like 10 miles or feet. Have Homelander become normal and be mortal for once.
Compound v reminds me of the Black Goo from the alien franchise but for superheroes. I mean they are both unpredictable with some wild side effects.
or chemical x
You still haven't made a video on Hughie. When will that happen?
I personally feel the laser vision is a bit much for butcher, i could be wrong.
I honestly think huey will be the one to snap in the boys on Amazon. Butcher would be too obvious
i like to think that The Boys show is just what would happen if the events happened 10 to 20 years later to when they originally happened in the comics
The powers are just going to be a fantasy.
i wonder how the ending of the series will be, will it follow the comics or nah. i would be fine either way tbh
My personal theory is that Compound V (especially the shows version) has a degenerative effect of the mental capabilities of its users and that’s why Most, if not all, of the supes are at least a little messed up (juries out on Starlight but in my theory it’s messed with her sense of danger as she can be a tad cocky and often bites of more than she can chew). This, combined with Vought being Vought and celeb culture is why it seems the most popular ones tend to be the most fed up
So whilst at the send of season 2 I thought they wouldn’t go down Butchers end in the comics, I can now see it happening if my he is correct. Compound V makes Butchers worse personality traits even stronger, regardless of Ryan and his promise the Becca
MM’s name now makes more sense.
i feel like they gave hughie the powers of nightcrawler in the boys, the way he teleported and killed that guy was just like the way he killed jamal in the comics after he revealed the G'mens secret,
Just one of the best shows on TV
hugheya def getting healing
Lol well that flopped
Awesome
I kinda wish they kept the powers part close to the comics
Can you do a video about Supergirl?
Releases on my birthday…what better gift then this 😮💨
Karl Urban would make a dope Wolverine.
SUPER Butcher dressed as Black Noir to get close enough to Homelander then starts fucking up him would be a crazy twist.
That would be a nod to the comics and I loved it
@@brauliohernandez3724 let's see what happens
Butcher will Slaughter his team at the final season I guess expect hughie
I thought he doesn’t have powers
It would be funny if one of the boys gets dealt The Deeps powerset - and both of them are the but of jokes (maybe becoming pals)!
I kinda don't want Billy to be the bad guy and the Seven to die like in the comics anymore. They've been so much humanized in the show that they're barely the same characters in the comics anymore.
Butcher is my Favourite and i hope he gets permanent OP powers, so he can SLAY SOME SUPES` :DD
But you forgot one key. Both Huey and butcher have only a few months to live I think less and another cool fact is they're introducing their version of Spider-Man or the twisted parody of Spider-Man But I would like the idea of a twisted parody of Shazam which existed in the comics
In the comics, Billy Butcher only killed The Boys, because they would have tried to stop him from killing every Supe in the world.
Nice
I heard a Rumor
In the comic all died except Frechie
I think these are just nightmares
Just for sh1ts and grins that'd be really funny if Carl Urban were to do Kano demanding an egg roll from Mortal Kombat.
Billy: NEAU SIDDEAUN SHADDUP AND PARSE MEE A FAUCKIN EGG ROLL...... YEEEHAAARRRR
