For me - I had involuntary servo movement - then I spotted that Lee changes the RX to SBUS (i have zohd nano talon evo) - soon as I put it to SBUS on the RX - all controls started moving and no more involuntary servo movement. I also had dropped the baud, but I am getting the inverter fix on my qx7 so I can put it back up. Thanks Lee ! Superstar!

I love it;) CRSF is really amazing. I cannot wait to fly a long range wing down the Mountain I live under here in CA. I have been looking at the ZOHD allot. The set button needs the right mode selected to work. It does different things in different modes (stabilise, manual, RTH). Check that you are in the right mode (CH5).
I am currently shopping to do exactly this with one of my Talons. Would you have a recommendation of Tiranus TX with crossfire module and a receiver to connect to the Kopilot? I didn’t see your stuff listed. Thanks 🙏
I'm guessing you are not a regular viewer. Check out the Kit Picks videos for my recommended stuff. Any TBS transmitter and a TBS Nano reciever should work well. I also have a Crossfire for beginners series too... Best of luck

Hey Painless! Is the Kopilot compatible with TBS’s Sixty9 AIO VTX+RX? I’m trying to build a fixed wing (hee wing ranger) and am having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to connect the Sixty9 to the Kopilot.
1:52 "Set failsafe to Channel 5": I cant figure out how to do this with my full size crossfire TX and the Nano Rx. On the back of the TX when I selected "XF Transmitter" and then "Set Failsafe" I got "Change FS Type to FS .pos.?" The only choice at this point was yes or no, so I picked yes, and it did something, but I am not sure what. Now I am not seeing any further options or anything that looks like I could "Set failsafe to Channel 5"
Hi Lee great channel you have with. You have answered many of my rc questions. Hoping you can sort out an issue I am having with my KOPILOT Lite, I am using the crsf nano for my receiver. I have it wired with the ground, +5v and channel 1 out, do I need channel 2 out wired. The ZOHD LED light flashes red only. I am unable to configure it as a wing. I have a ZOHD Dart 250G. any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated,.

After watching your video again I overlooked the channel order and will change it to aileron, elevator, throttle, rudder followed by a mode switch. All should then be good to go. Your comment at the end of your video “don’t forget to set the failsafe for channel 5 the mode channel to trigger return to home that’s not done automatically you have to go into the Crossfire menus”. Do you have a video that explains the steps on how to do so?
Yes, thank you. I managed to get my crossfire going with kopilot in the end. Turned out my issue was with the nano rx that wasnt wanting to play. It's always something simple 😂
Watched the entire crossfire series, still not sure about the failsafe setting. Am I right in saying to use rth that you would have to set up the radio as mentioned and select output 5 in the crossfire receiver menu?
@@Painless360 it is connected to an fx 61 flying wing. I set it to fs pos with rth switch selected. The plane just glides down in stabilizer mode with no motor engaging. Just wondering if I need to select output on crossfire nano rx to 5 to match the taranis mixer switch setting. Thanks for your reply,appreciated.
Just wanted to share that this does not work with the FrSky L9R in sbus mode, the failsafe was acting up weird for me during setup since I needed to set failsafe to set CH 5 to RTH, but PWM ok.
So I picked up a happymodel elrs receiver which apparently only outputs CRSF. Does anybody know if the Kopilot can receive CRSF? Switching the RX to sbus, as in the case with crossfire receivers, does not appear to be possible.

Thank you for your excellent RC hobby videos! ) I have purchased the Kopilot configured it but when I want to assign sounds to a 3x position switch on my Taranis radio.... sounds like return to launch, stabilized mode are NOT in the default Opentx amber sound pack listing when I attempt to select. Ok so i followed this and i have the elevator and ailerons moving together no matter what i do. Am running crfs on iX12 with rx output set as in video. Have also tried every other combination i can think of and no luck. Anyone else had this issue??

The KoPilot is great if you want to just have the stabilisation, RTH and auto-launch stuff. If you want the full FPV experience then a iNav powered (or Arduplane) powered FC is perfect. Check out the BrainDART - I'll be building one in January!

Needs android 6.0 or higher in order to install the app. Great my LG phone is 6.0, downloaded the app, unable to install it as it keeps saying incompatible with my phone. I just threw away a little over $600 dollars Canadian. Anyone like a cute little Mavic combo paper weight?

I am holding the set button 5 sec and getting the 2 green leds to flash not able to set models . And sometimes the red led stops flashing? Im using CF

You need to configure the output as SBUS on your Crossfire reciever and plug that output into the Kopilot. Best of luck

As ELRS doesn't support it SBUS, you'd need to use PWM... Best of luck
Im running crossfire and i dont get a green led when i switch to stable mode to set the model type.
You need to connect via SBUS and make sure that CH5 makes the LEDs change on the unit..

Depends on what it is connected to. Always test the failsafe on the ground to make sure you have it set correctly.

If it has an FC then I'd normally select no pulses and test that the FC sees the failsafe on the bench. See my video on it...

Nope, only SBUS.
I can’t find Sbus in the channel map…I am on the latest version of crossfire and I’m on edge TX
Not all outputs will allow you to select SBUS. Make sure to try them Al...

They are there - see things like return.wav and stblzmod.wav...
1:13: On the mixer it looks like you have a mix with those numbers, 60, -60, 100, -100. I thought you were supposed to let the Kopilot do the mixing??

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you planning to control it using Crossfire? If so then there will be no connections to the air unit..

I don't think that receiver has an SBUS out on that Rx. Please see my setup guide video for the options. Best of luck
How about connecting the Kopilot GPS to the Crossfire BST pins to get GPS telemetry?
Not possible on this version. If you want that then look at iNav and other fully featured systems..

Could be lots of things. Servo power frame selection.. What troubleshooting have you already done?
I have tried other servos kopilot will make the servo move when in stabilised mode but nothing when I move the stick on the tx16s
I have sorted the problem it was in inputs it had the wrong source changed to stick works lovely

Hi. How do u setup the failsafe ? If modes are in channel 5.
As it's Sbus the Failsafe will be seen automatically. You can also set the CH5 position to be the RTH value too in Crossfire. See my video on it.

Always set Failsafe at zero throttle. The Kopilot will fly back on its own in RTH mode..

Does the kopilot lite work with Volantex Ranger G2? Planning to get that plane

I've not tested a GPS on a model with the DJI system, if it doesn't interfere with the GPS then it'll work fine..
