Didn't work for me: Unable to Disable 5GHz! Disabling the 5GHz band on your gateway will cause it to hang while booting. Certain functions may continue to work, but you won't be able to control many settings again until the gateway is factory reset.
@@helphq I also got this message today with my Arcadyan KVD21. Your video is good, but I don't think this method would fix all my problems anyway. I need bridge mode or some better way to set up this network. The wi-fi / LAN for this device is really flaky, and the internet speeds are slow. I think I'm going to drop T-Mobile. They have overloaded the area with customers, so speeds are often worse than DSL. To use my wireless printer I have to restart the gateway every time. Local file sharing doesn't work right with FTP, etc. Some games don't work. I can't stream PBS because the device says I'm in another state. I don't want to use a weird double-NAT setup just to get my printer to work. On the plus side, T-Mobile internet is ALWAYS on, rain or shine, and customer service in the Philippines is friendly. And thanks for telling us about HINTControl, the open source control panel for these. T-Mobile has dropped its phone app so now allows almost no control over the gateway at all with its own software. Basically I have been very disappointed with T-Mobile Home Internet. They seem to have no plans to keep their infrastructure good enough for the number of customers they bring on board, and if something doesn't work, it is nearly impossible to change the configuration. However, at least I can reboot the device now from my computer with HINTControl. Small steps.

Hello! I recently got the newer model. However, it's not showing me the "Stats", where you can see the amount of data you've used so far. Is there any way to get it on the newer version via the IP? Thanks!
Hello! I just got it two days ago! It's running well for me! 550 to 640 mbps. (In a country where they don't haven't released it yet.) Got the latest model. I saw that with the previous models, you could get the Data Stats (Usage) through the gateway IP. However, there is no such option on the new panel/menu. Have you read whether or not it's possible to see those numbers with the new gateway model? Thanks!
Which gateway do you have? I’m not sure what you mean by “new” model. On the current line-up it does not show data usage in the T-Mobile home internet app the third party HINT Control app does not show data usage either at this time.
Yes, I would like to see this for MacOS. I am also using an Eero mesh router and would like to turn off T-Mobile Sagemon FAST 5688W WiFi completely. Thanks. UPDATE - Actually, I just figured it out loading Hint Control for iOS and accessing via Eero router. However, a Mac video would still be interesting.
Very nicely explained. I am trying to set up a T-Mobile TMO-G4AR with a new eero 6+ router. I have a 100 foot Ethernet cable running from the modem in my sons bedroom window to my computer. I downloaded Hint Control 1.10.1 …..-27-windows-amd64.zip, unzipped the files, in the app folder I double clicked on app, and the software installed and exactly as you said, I entered my admin password, went to the wi-fi tab and turned off both radio frequencies. Clicked save got an error message, but both are off. I ran a speed test on my computer that is still hard wired to the modem. 346.9 Mbps download and 120.4 Mbps upload. That sounds good. The problem is (and has been) the eero 6+ appears to be throttling performance. I have one eero 6+ hard wired to the modems other Ethernet port and it should be the router for the other five eero 6+ units that I will be placing around my home eventually. But when I am sitting three feet from the eero 6+ router that is hardwired to the modem, and run a speed test on my phone over the internet I am only getting 38.5 down and 68.5 up. If you don’t mind, you mentioned your running a T-Mobile gateway with a eero mesh. What do I need to do to make the eero WiFi faster?
Seems weird. I’ve never experienced that issue. In the T-Mobile Home internet app do you have your Wi-Fi SSID hidden? Ultimately so long as you’re connected to the gateway this shouldn’t matter but maybe it’s causing the app to not work properly.
It’s not listed specifically as being compatible, but it’s basically a kvd21 internally with external antenna ports so I would be willing to bet it would probably work.
Excellent, worked perfectly. So happy that eventually was able to turn off the router!
Great to hear!
Thank you,man! Great video...Please,don't stop...We need you.
More to come! Thank you!

We need a video like this for Mac’s 😊
Standby.. I got you.
Video is 90 percent done. Hope to have it up tomorrow.
Would you please tell me which one to download for iPad? 😊
iOS requires using the Test Flight app. More info here: testflight.apple.com/join/guaoX3zI

I’m working on a business router video at the moment but I have this on the list. Thanks for watching!

In the eero app go to network settings > dchp & nat and change it from automatic to bridge.
I tried the Android and Widows app but it would not let me turn off both 2.4 and 5. Just one. I am connected using a router with Ethernet.

Will this app allow you to block websites and such? Trying to set parental controls for my kids.
No, you’ll need a third party router that offers those features. This will just turn the WiFi on and off.
@helphq alright thank you much.
I was just told their working on a forth unit but it's only for rural&country side areas
They have a few new gateways coming out. I plan on buying every single gateway they come out with and testing it.
will this also work on the tmobile g4se?
I don’t have that model so I’m not sure. I would just try it and see if it connects to the gateway.
@@helphq only downloaded bout 50% of it then threw error message
Are you saying the file downloaded 50 percent or are you saying when you run the program and try to connect to the gateway?
@@helphq file only down loaded 50%
great video thanks
Thanks!
can this be used on windows 11?
Yeah should work fine.
@@helphq thanks for the quick response this is new laptop, so guess windows 11 getting it first script
has this file been updated?
It was last updated September 3rd, 2023
seems to take forever too load
Does hint control support disconnecting the wi-fi with a t-mobile newest G4AR gateway?Thank you.
