    I just wanted to let youp know that after watching your work, and of course considering the limitations on my budget, i went for a 4070 super with a 5600 ryzen for a start (thinking of upgrading to 5800x3d as soon as i have the $ for it). And i have to say im very, very happy with the result.
    Your CPUs videos on VR was very clear for what i could do and what i could not do with every processor, and about the possible upgrade path, which made me choose the plataform for the processor (AMD) and to go with the RTX for SPS.
    Result is: With my budget and a little tweak on the configs, im confortably playing @ 90fps on Quest 3, even in some night races and okayama, which previously were a nightmare.
    Thanks a lot for your dedication. You sub numbers do not relate to your impact to your viewers. I hope this channel grows fast!

    Very informative video, although i don't race on iracing this is very handy!
    I race AC heavelly with VR, i went from a 1080ti to a 7900xt when i was planning to go VR and i didn't know about nvidia being better in VR...
    But to be fair after 5 months on it, it runs every VR sim like a champ, never saw any latency and i'm very sensible with stutters and slowdowns and that's why i switched from the Quest 2 to a Pico4...
    Quest headsets are riddle with bugs and strange fps drops on AC right now, don't know if its because of CSP or meta app itself but me and other league friends are experiencing the same!
    keep the good work!

    Hi, just found your channel through a reddit discussion about triples. Great content!
    I'm waiting on the end of the year for what GPU to pair with my 5800X3D. Still using a GTX 1070.
    I'm interested in AC+mods benchmarks with triples. Also, planning on getting a 40" ultrawide with two 32" for the side monitors. Would love to hear your thoughts on the subject of going 16:9|21:9|16:9

    • @BenchmarkOdysseys
      @BenchmarkOdysseys  3 месяца назад +1

      Thanks man :) I assume you're attempting to increase the primary FOV with a 40" Ultrawide and push the transition to the side monitors farther out so it's less annoying? You'll want the same pixel height and physical screen height across all three monitors.
      Nvidia Surround has some advantages, including performance gains (although less than 10%). It will (likely) not function correctly when mixing different monitors. You'll be forced to run Windowed or Windowed Fullscreen for all sims, which is what most people do.
      An ultrawide is already exposed to the warping effect of having such a wide FOV. So it can actually benefit from projection correction. But I don't know if it's possible to adjust that projection AND the side monitors as well, which will be even more distorted.
      That's about all I can comment on. You'd have to dig deep in your research and find others with that config, and really quiz them directly on the pros/cons. What they may find acceptable to image quality, may not be the same for you.

      @@BenchmarkOdysseys That was my idea. I've got two 32" 1440p that I'd perhaps pair with MSI MAG401QR 40.0"
      I'd also consider selling my 32" monitors and going triple 40" ultrawide. I haven't used a triple setup before. My main monitor is the GIGABYTE G32Q which is 165hz OD curved VA panel. The other monitor is an LG VA flat panel 144z but it's 5ms. I'd rather sell them both at a loss and go triple ultrawide as long as the vertical doesn't seem to narrow for that width. I was thinking the 40" would be good because can still tuck the wheel close enough or get a wheel extension and still have that 32" fitment. Otherwise I'd go 42"-48" OLEDS for a triple cuz the wheel base and distance setup.
      I'd rather keep it at the 32" 16:9 height for space reasonability and staying in the IPS/VA price segment. I don't have unlimited budget but I got enough saved to kind of go all out. I watched optimum on YT, set up his LG 45" ultrawides, but it doesn't seem as immersive as a proper angled triples set up. So instead of going for one 45" ultrawide with the 800R curve, IPS triples either 16:9|21:9|16:9 or standard triple 32". Kind of want to switch from VA to IPS anyway
      edit: I don't like the idea of being closer to the display panels than necessary for FOV.

    Interesting results! I recently upgraded to 7900xt + 7800x3d system. I’ve been too excited to race and spent no time dialing in the settings 😅 Do you have a video running thru your settings?

    • @BenchmarkOdysseys
      @BenchmarkOdysseys  4 месяца назад +1

      Enabling SAM must be done within the BIOS/UEFI first (it will be called Resizable Bar and 4G Encoding should also be enabled when you turn it on). Then you should see SAM enabled within your Adrenalin drivers, however, you may need to restart your computer a few times before it takes.
      As for specific settings, I haven't found a 'magic bullet' in Adrenalin that unlocks more performance. I recommend increasing your VRAM speed. When it comes to iRacing, I've got everything jacked to stress the systems but I wouldn't recommend driving at these settings.

      There has been no significant changes from iRacing or Radeon Adrenalin drivers. When it comes to Triples and VR with iRacing, a GeForce card is still the preferred option.

    Totally different question here, but do you recommend just using single projection with eyefinity with the FOV adjusted or not using Eyefinity at all and then being able to use things like FSR? also any guides you could recommend for setting this up correctly, thanks in advance!

    • @BenchmarkOdysseys
      @BenchmarkOdysseys  6 дней назад +1

      (1) If you're running additional apps and huds, and you want to alt-tab from a sim session, Windowed Borderless might work better for your than Fullscreen with Eyefinity. (2) iRacing natively supports FSR. AFAIK you can deploy it on any card/screen/resolution configuration. (3) Three projections does look better than one, but whether or not you want to work around the performance hit is up to you. (4) Guides are a bit hit or miss. I should really make one... lol

      @@fiveofknives There are a lot of Adrenalin features that do not work with iRacing. However, I am not familiar of situations in which iRacing's internal deployment of resolution scaling will not work. What makes you think it does not with Eyefinity?

      @@BenchmarkOdysseys I believe upscaling and framegen does not work with eyefinity I've tried to look for official answers but cannot find anything about it, ive done some tests in ACC as well as Iracing, LMU and turning on FSR in game does nothing even if you put it on the worst settings to try make a visual difference (to see if it's actually working) it doesn't change anything FPS stays the same and visuals do too
      However I did manage to get the triples to work without eyefinity enabled and then FSR makes a reasonable difference, tbh i wish we could make it work without 3 projections, cause then the fps skyrockets but hey, cant have the cake and eat it too xD .
      Thanks for your responses

    • @BenchmarkOdysseys
      @BenchmarkOdysseys  5 дней назад

      @@fiveofknives Oh, ok. I've been using the iRacing command "ResolutionScaling" within the rendererDX11Monitor.ini file with 0=Off, 1=Ultra, 2=Quality, 3=Balanced, 4=Performance. Comparing Eyefinity 4K to Triple 4K, I did not measure a difference between the two.
      When running 3 projections in iRacing, there's also very little performance gain going from Native to Performance, even at the insane resolution of 11520x2160 with the 7900 XTX. There is more GPU headroom available, but my guess is the CPU is queuing the 3 frames before presenting them (at the same time) across all 3 monitors. So it doesn't matter that the 7900 XTX can provide the frames more quickly, it seems like the rendering is slowed down by the queue management from iRacing.

      That's a balanced combo, i5 13500 + 4060, which is great. I would consider a CPU upgrade first, like 13700K with new CPU cooler. Then hunt for a 5070 next spring/summer.

      @@BenchmarkOdysseys Thank you for your response. Do you think that upgrading the processor could get me closer to a frame rate around 144 FPS with very high visual settings? That’s what I’m aiming for, exclusively for iRacing.

    • @BenchmarkOdysseys
      @BenchmarkOdysseys  10 дней назад

      @@fallaitpasmeconnaitre5577 Your resolution is just a bit more demanding than 2560x1440, and that's manageable by the 4060. A lot of my benching is 4K with graphics cards because iRacing is very CPU bound beneath that resolution. Your FPS dips are more likely related to the 13400. You should refer to my 'Radeon 6700XT vs GeForce 3060Ti" video because that was done with Intel i7 13700K and your 4060 will perform very close to that 3060 Ti.

    What resolution was the HMD running at? I have a Quest 2 and am thinking about a 7900xtx because I also play other games other than Simracing, so I would not mind taking a hit in iracing if it still is playable enough! Currently I am running a 1080ti so would I even notice an upgrade considering I would miss out on SPS?

    • @BenchmarkOdysseys
      @BenchmarkOdysseys  4 месяца назад +1

      Resolution was 2468x2744 per eye with Valve Index @ 90Hz. The quality settings were quite high and the same for both cards. With enough tuning it should be possible to get 7900XTX to run the sim smooth... I don't yet know how many features have to be reduced or turned off.

      X3D Cache allows for some calculations to be resolved BEFORE being sent to system RAM, so in that sense, both the 5800X3D and 7800X3D are less sensitive to memory timings. (In contrast, Intel processors benefit from fast RAM.) You will still want to the activate XMP profile for your memory within the BIOS or UEFI. But the FPS gain from upgrading CL18 to CL14 will not be economically attractive.
      I noticed with my XTX that it also benefits from tuning the VRAM to run faster. Mine is stable up to about 2700Mhz and that gave it nearly 10% FPS gain. I've had less luck with the GPU clock, however.
