I'M NOT A MOTORCYCLE MECHANIC NOR AN ADVENTURE RIDING INSTRUCTOR, TAKE EVERYTHING I SAY WITH A GRAIN OF SALT, I'M JUST AN ENTHUSIAST SO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR OWNER'S MANUAL FOR THE CORRECT PROCEDURES AND SPECIFICATIONS.
EMULATE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Авто/Мото
This is the only video I’ve ever watched that’s made me understand this process of this procedure. Thank you so much man, my dad always helps me but he’s pretty much left me to fend for myself to learn on my own. I can’t say thank you enough
Glad to help 😀👍
Great video my friend! Will do this on my uncle's WR426 soon! It's never a bad idea to check the valves again after 1 ride. That's when they usually seat and sometimes you'll end up having to do it again! Thanks man
Excellent video, thank you. That is a very clean bike.
Still enjoying the 426. Thanks buddy. This is Jason.
Hi Jason, I actually sold it, and started working on a ktm 525
This is the best video on RUclips how to do this. Clear instructions and really a great view on how to do it.
Cheers from Sweden!
Thanks man 😀👍
Well… while you are in there may as well install an auto decompression cam. Makes life allot easier.
I did, it's in the next episode 😀👍
Excellent video . Thanks bro 🙏 🙌 💯
No problem man 👍
Top video 👌
What's the clearances on the valves for the yz400...😞
Brilliant Albe. I have a 2009 Yamaha WR250F. Not sure if there's shims in it or another system? I've never done this and don't wish to give my bike to the dealers to fix the these kind of stuff like this. (To expensive). But this helped allot in future events if i get a older bike or need to do the same on my 2009? I don't think i need to check my valve service in my bike yet, but i still watched tho whole review for educational purpose. :o) Did not understand the math behind the gap how to calculate the increase or decrease of the shims, but i guess I'll have to watch that particular part again or a couple of time to be able to get the math right. Very detailed explanations as always Albe. Love your work. Keep it up, and keep it coming. Sending blessings.
Thanks Shahid, the math is easier than it seems, you just use a thicker shim to decrease the gap and a thinner shim to increase the gap
No, thank YOU! For taking your time and sharing. Oh, yeah, that makes a lot of sense. It's getting late over here. (02:30 in the morning). Heads not functioning correctly at this hour. Thanks a bunch once again for the explanation A. Looking forward to future "how to do" uploads.
Great video 👍...next upgrade...hydraulic clutch, trust me it’s worth every penny
Sounds good, the very next is hot cam with auto decomp. Than we’ll see 😀👍
Doing the valves on my 2000 YZ426F, great videos. Thanks!
@@AlbesADV do the intake cam with the exhaust it makes a huge difference totally worth the cash 👍
No problem Frank
Do those breather hoses connect somewhere else on the bike?
No, they go from the head straight down
0 .10mm - .15mm and 0.20mm - 0.25mm, why not aim for 0.22 or.023? You went for 0.15 and0.20, is that just because of the sizes of gauges and shims available? I'm buying the tools tomorrow, so I want to get it right. Such as, is the lower end of the rage more accurate?
That's because the size of the gauges, yes
What kind and where did you get your handguards from?
They came with the bike, I'm not sure about the brand, the name was worn off
I l9ve all your videos I have the 01 yamaha yz426f I have oil in my spark plug well plz help
Hi, if you have oil on your spark plug might be time to re-do the top end or at the very least replace the piston rings, sorry man
Will this work on the 450f too?
The concept is more or less the same but I don't know the specifics
why are my cams opposite than his when i hit tdc and how do i fix it
By "opposite" do you mean the lobes are pointing inward?
@@AlbesADV yes the lobes are inward but my piston is at tdc
@@AlbesADV and obviously from that the timing marks are off from yours too
The piston comes up twice, compression and exhaust, the lobes should be outward at TDC , but the piston is also up with the lobes inward, if you keep rotating you should get, piston up and lobes outward, also the markings should be visible thru the inspection port
@@AlbesADV ive rotated it multiple times and it hasnt lined up at all would it be bad to spin clickwise?
was there a gasket for the top?
Yes, it's a thick rubber gasket, without it the left side of the head will not seal
ma potevi vivere in Italia 😛
Quando vado in pensione torno...😆
@@AlbesADV ottimo! Ho una bella casa al Lagastrello, ottima base per fare un po' di enduro o mototurismo ;-) Quando passi di qua e senti odore di grigliata, fermati 😀
Assolutamente 😀👍
Some of the parts... bikes are expensive..
