    Just picked up a 426 with low time… previous owner brought it to a ‘shop’ running…. had a hot cam installed- now not running.
    Subbed! 😎Thanks for the help, working on this one next week😊

    I’ve watched several other videos on this procedure and found your pace, techniques and simplified terminology to be very helpful.

    Hey this is the best video for setting the camshaft timing. Especially with the E and I marks on the camshafts( Exhaust and intake ).

    I am doing everything like you are doing and my timing is ending up slightly off after putting chain tensioner on. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

      @motorcyclefixer  Год назад

      Hi
      When you say slightly off are you talking just a quarter of a tooth. sometimes it's impossible to get it perfectly straight and the bike should run fine as long as it's as close as you can get it.
      If it's not "close enough " then consider purchasing a new cam chain
      I hope this helps

    Morning sir,,can I ask sir that block of wr450 ,it is pit to Yamaha 426 and the head of 426 is still remain?

    • @motorcyclefixer
      @motorcyclefixer  6 месяцев назад

      i don't know sorry. there are many things that can affect this. diameter of the bore. stroke of the piston. configuration of the bolts etc. etc. without having them side by side and measuring everything i would say probably not

    Morning sir, I have yz426 but the block is damage,it is pit sir the block of wr450 to 426 celinder head ,,wr is 4 stad bolt and the 426 is 6 atad bolt.

      If it's a WR then it would be a 2 stroke
      Do you mean WRF 450 ?

      I'm not 100% but it will be similar with marks to line up with the head

      @@motorcyclefixer thanks. I was doing research, and read that 06 and till now have bigger bore. Old ones had 426cc, now they have around 449cc if they are not factory racing.

      So im not really sure, maybe they had to reinforce cams, cuz the engines were constantly getting too much fuel and they would "drown"

    I have a wr426f do I do the same with it when timing! And idk but I Hurd that you need 13 pins between the two Dots for the Wr but if I do 13 pins then the Timing is off, also So you do check To see if the timing is correct when The cam chain is tight not when lose

    • @motorcyclefixer
      @motorcyclefixer  2 года назад +1

      When it's tight
      Put your finger in the hole and push on the cam chain guide to tension the chain while you're setting it
      The most important thing is that the dimples are in line with the top of the head
