It's a Filoni touch. In an episode of Rebels the gang with Rex comes across a lost battalion of Separatist Droids. There's a lot of Clone Wars nuance, and it ends with the Clone Wars music instead of the regular Rebels send-off. (With the Rebels title card changed into the Clone Wars style.
