A war they were created to fight that was rigged from the start by the puppeteers in charge, they were created as part of a lie, must really play on a clones mind. They fought for years for a result that was always going to happen.

I think and thank Dave Felloni and the whole team around him for giving us such a masterpiece that has ever been made. Just look at how they introduced us to every single clone in the series.
Put simply, you might see clones like oranges, they all look the same on the outside, but they differ in taste.
Every situation, every decision they had to make along the way made them to a unique being.

The Clones were the most tragic characters we've seen in Star Wars history. Originally were meant to fight and defend the Republic, giving their lives for others to live. But then, once Palpatine played a bonus card implementing the Stormtrooper Program, the Clones were all but discarded. Those who were forcefully retired ended up homeless, and what's worse, used as test subjects locked up in prison.
The Clones do deserve a better life at this point after the Clone Wars.. It's sad that they all gave up their lives for nothing.

They were all essentially slaves to the Republic and the Empire, no better then the clankers they fought against, as the clankers could not fight their programming, neither could the majority of the Clone Army, bred for one thing only, war and once won, discarded.

Was/is it really that poorly received in the SW fan base? I started watching the show recently after S3 completed so I could binge it all and I am honestly surprised at how good it is. Yeah, the “monster of the week” style episodes suck sometimes but I felt that because TBB themselves are so likable, it still made them fun to watch and I like how dark the show could get. There was never really truly an episode that made me go “waste of time”
Plus Omega is a delight, easily my favorite SW character now.

Each clone started the same, expendable, cannon fodder. But as they grew and developed around each other they grew into individuals that were treated as lesser beings. They were forced into a war high they didn’t ask for but wouldn’t exist without. The clone wars makes it so sad for all the clones who died for nothing and then they were thrown away. Once the empire began they were forgotten. It is truly beautiful.
