Well said. Many leaders and in fact whole societies command through fear these days. The end of 90's and the beginning of XXI-century was the best time for cinematography, don't try to change my mind. The CGI wasn't perfect, but the atmosphere allowed you to feel every setting - Ancient Rome (Gladiator), Persia and Macedonia (Alexander), the Caribbean (Pirates of the Caribbean), World War II (Saving Private Ryan), or fantasy movies like Jurassic Park, Terminator, Waterworld and more, literally everything. They don't make good movies like this anymore. We get empty shells shot on a green screen made in a year, and in addition boring, devoid of depth, sense and emotions. Btw. amazing montage, thank you for this video!
Anyone going through a heartbreak or anything that's tearing you apart. Don't worry. Take it day by day. Keep on moving. You got this! The world is your oyster, and you're the pearl."
Saw a quote the other day and I feel like it fits this movie perfectly “A king stood upon his throne with no heir so called forth his servants His finest general His younger brother His sisters son And all his advisors kneeled before him He stood silent and judged each one accordingly finally he stopped and went “Step forward plate-bearer” His servant who stood at the door looked up and stood shocked “Come! come!” Said the king Carefully and cautiously he eased forward till he was at the kings feet he kneeled and king raised him took off his crown and placed it within his hands “It’s I should be kneeling to you now!” The king remarked The young servant scoffed “But my lord I don’t want the crown I don’t know what to do with such power” The king smiled and whispered into his ear “That is why you are the only one deserving of it”
Great fiction. But in real life this servant is as good as dead. Power is not a joke or poetry, but real as fuck. The crown will destroy the bearer if he is not wise, brave… and lucky
90s holliwood movie fiction. Being lowest in the hiererchy does not mean you will be just when you are on the top, it just means that you're at the bottom. If you're placed to the top you will have to navigate a responsibility you have no experience in. This is romantic but not true. However, if you find someone exceptional in the bottom of the hiererchy they should be given the chance of proving themselves to the top - as all others. Would require a lot of learning and reflections even if you have potential though.
when he grabs the dirt while the dog looks at him is my favorite clip. It really portrays his trust with mother nature and the dogs recognition. I believe that is the commonality between humans and animals, the connection and trust with the earth.

Best movie ever, Maximus is the man every real man will want to be. Lucilla: Is Rome worth one good man's life? We believed it once. Make us believe it again. He was a soldier of Rome. Honor him. Gracchus: Who will help me carry him? nice video.
This movie means so much for me. It helped so much in my life and gave me a different perspective of life. I used to be angry and react almost at the ones who wronged me and time after time watching this movie knowing all the lines by heart, I learned so much. How to become a more relaxed person and endure the outcome of whatever happens to calculate my thoughts and always react while relaxed, but not only that. This movie taught so many things. Besides the great acting, the great shots and the dialogue, and OMG, the soundtrack.
It was actually quoted by his emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Quite cool to see Maximus, his General, use that quote as it shows what respect he had for his emperor.
One of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen. I have seen it over 30 times. A simple MASTERPIECE. This is what our age needs!! ALL GLORY TO GLADIATOR!! Take me back to that time, let me die in glory!!!! HAIL!!!!!
ive seen the movie countless times, and i just realized at 1:04, Maximus calls Caesar by his given name. that goes to show the comfortable and almost familial relationship they had.
This movie is based lovely on Cincinatus. A modest farmer called upon to become emporer to protect Rome. After he reorganized and saved Rome he simply gave up the emporership and returned to his farm.
I watched this as a kid, younger than 10, under a wooden framed couch side table late at night while the adults watched this new movie at the time. Had to crawl quietly to get under the table so they wouldn't notice. Intrigue and trauma are what I got from that night. Ever since, it has been one of my favorite movies. Everything about it was phenomenal. Sheet mightve been a big influence on my life when I think about it now.

Gladiator is definitely one of my favorite movies. Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix were amazing throughout the whole movie. I actually think that this movie got me interested of going into the film industry. That and the constant terrible movies that have been produced lately, 😢. But one day, I hope to be a part of the change, that I know will come.
Maximums walking through all the soldiers gives me chills everytime.🫡
Women cry while watching Titanic, men while watching Gladiator
Bullshit. I love Gladiator! Titanic not so much.
And the last samurai
My only experience with titanic is walking past A class when they were watching that before summer holiday and 4/6 girls were crying while 9/9 boys were sleeping or playing games on phones hahahah
love and tears
I’m a woman & I still cry when I see Gladiator. What planet are you from?
One of best movies ever, stoicism at its best.
Well said!
@@EscathonEdits I'm going through some really bad breakup right now and this movie and your video helped me not to fall and to stay strong and keep fighting
So I want to thank you brother, I think I will go through it
@@Igor-my6ml 💪❤️✊continue bro you will see changes and better life !
Bruh I can’t believe they’re going to try and make a sequel. Big yikes. This movie is a masterpiece stand-alone. The sequel won’t do it justice.
Yeah but it would be really cool if they make the main character like a woman maximus and potentially gay #yesplease🎉❤
Obvious troll is obvious. Nobody wants that.
The depth of character between Marcus and The general takes my breath away.
Saw a quote the other day and I feel like it fits this movie perfectly
“A king stood upon his throne with no heir so called forth his servants
His finest general
His younger brother
His sisters son
And all his advisors kneeled before him
He stood silent and judged each one accordingly finally he stopped and went
“Step forward plate-bearer”
His servant who stood at the door looked up and stood shocked
“Come! come!”
Said the king
Carefully and cautiously he eased forward till he was at the kings feet he kneeled and king raised him took off his crown and placed it within his hands
“It’s I should be kneeling to you now!”
The king remarked
The young servant scoffed
“But my lord I don’t want the crown I don’t know what to do with such power”
The king smiled and whispered into his ear
“That is why you are the only one deserving of it”
Yes but when Alexander the Great was asked to whom his kingdom should be given he replied “Give it to the Strong “

Make sure your deeds align with your principles. If they do: nothing created by man can stop you.
“Life is cruel, why should the afterlife be any different”
never thought this movie could get any better, and here I am.
“Your fault as a son, is my failure as a father.” Wow.
made me cry 3 times today more emotions felt in this 6 minutes than my entire life
Damn!
Gladiator is legendary. Your choice in scenes and the calm, slowness in the music is beautifully done 🙌🏼 Very nice video!
Truly a legendary movie, and thank you for the compliment! Very much appreciate your support!
@@EscathonEditsit really is fantastic the edit you made, great work
One of the most greatest movies ever made in my opinion. The story, the actors all flow beautifully together and Russel as well as Joquin out done them selves with their superb acting. ❤
Strength and honour, we are all born with it, how many of us live it….!
This must be the best Gladiator tribute I have seen, so many emotions coming from your genius work ❤️
Gladiator is one of my all time favorite movies! Thank you very much!
TRUTH!! Agreed!
Best movie ever, Maximus is the man every real man will want to be.
Lucilla:
Is Rome worth one good man's life? We believed it once. Make us believe it again. He was a soldier of Rome. Honor him.
Gracchus:
Who will help me carry him?
nice video.
An all-time masterpiece of cinema
the one and only gladiator movie. No sequels
When I think of my dad all I picture is the gladiator he reminds me so much of him .
You will see your Dad again...but not yet.
Wonderful response.
What we do now echos in eternity, if only people lived life with an understanding that this life will effect their eternity.
"A good man plants a tree seed even though he knows he will never stand under Its shade"
Brother, we are here for you
Highly recommended movie. Rome was the light.
“What we do in life echoes in eternity.” - Maximus \m/
It was actually quoted by his emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Quite cool to see Maximus, his General, use that quote as it shows what respect he had for his emperor.
This film captures so much of the mindset and sociological makeup of how it was during Emperor Marcus' time. I miss the old days in so many ways...
He was the only who knew the glory of the 19th legion was in that small hill near Rome. Why did my family die.
There are movies that mark an era, this is one of them!
Not everyone didn't notice but shhhh here some popcorn
This gets me every time.
What we do in life echoes in eternity
A man’s ideals live forever ❤️
Watching this and getting goosebumps man, makes a grown man emotional how much passion and pride this shows.. What a real man looks like, love this movie
Ce film est le meilleur jamais produit après 2000...
The actors, the scenario, the score...Perfection in entertainement!
Je pleure encore a chaque fois et même mon fils pleure.❤
incredible edits. I felt this entire movie in 6 and a half minutes.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.
This is one of the greatest film edits I have ever seen. The timing and placement of the scenes are flawless. Thank you, this was simply remarkable.
“What we do alive echos to the eternity”
Best quote I ever seen before !!!!
In life not alive, 🙏
Maximus is the man within us that we all truly are.
Or can be
Only if we seek to be him, otherwise we will be corrupted
I think this is the best short summary of the film I have ever seen and the music fits perfectly. It's one of my favorite movies ever made and this does it complete justice 15/10*
One of my most rapid subs. This film hits very personally to me as well, I too am a stoic and a great admirer of Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, and Epictetus. Glory to you, brother. I look forward to seeing your other work and future achievements with great enthusiasm.

Thank you very much, my fellow Stoic traveler. I'm glad you enjoyed this! More to come, and if you're interested, check out the description or my channels tab on my RUclips page, there you'll find my second channel which is just called "Escathon", where I'll be posting quite a bit more Stoicism content, one releasing on the coming days.
Now imagine what the early martyrs of Christendom had to endure and die for, for believing in a man who was called the son of God…
@@marcuskeil420 Indeed. I am both a Stoic & a Follower of Christ. And since I am both, I believe it isn't enough to say you believe in the Son of Man, you must attempt to walk his path. In whatever way that presents itself in your individual journey. Much like the Early Christians did.
Understand Colton’s
Brilliant edit man! I forgot how sad but epic this movie is. It’s one of my favourites. It has a great story and you were able to capture it in 6 minutes. 👏
Thank you man! Its surely a great movie... no... actually, not great, it's fantastic! Love the movie! And I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Tears falling down. Russel Crowe 💛
One of the best movies made. A man crossed by traitors........ Love this .. The dream is no more wars... Love, laughter, freedom, and independence.....live, love, laugh, and legit!!!??
The best and once in a lifetime masterpiece from all the actors in it and director Ridley Scott, music composer and writer.
It’s a great movie! I wish at the end of my life I get to be with my family like this.
"You will meet them again, but not yet, not yet..."
You will be my friend, but not yet…not yet
this is beautifully done. Putting Max Richter on Gladiator is a killer edit.
Thank you a lot! I thought it was very fitting.
I watched it 13 times ❤❤ The best movie ever. I would watch it again..
Excellent!
How much I love this movie! When it first came out I watched it with my sister! It was epic and that song at the end we just got stuck in there forever!! My sister was murdered two years later and I think I've never managed to set myself free of rage like the song chanted at the end of the movie nor could I ever find my way through fields of peace that are able to reunite us again!
Oh my God ! Such strengthen of character , such glorious destiny , such valour and purpose, such great sense of duty. Such a divine mandate. ❤
Get's me all the time. For some reason, Gladiator gives me or makes me realise all the time of our greater purpose in life even upto death.
That's the best way I can put it in words - otherwise I have no words.
Eternally epic - Love from Zambia ❤🇿🇲

A great man, and a simple farmer. Just wanted to go home, and yet was never granted such.
@@EscathonEdits I’m not a man I know how that is

A simple life for a great man, he just wanted to go home and live a quiet agrarian life. They had to fuck with him.

Truly the best movie ever made. No matter how many times I watch it, I always get chills.
Beautiful that Olly Reed chose the Best Film ever to make his legendary exit. What he did in life echoes in eternity.
What a film, remember my parents getting me this for Christmas on cassette back in the day, I watched it back then but I didn't fully take it in until I watched it again as an adult, absolute classic 🙌⚔️🛡️
My favorite movie. Story. Hits hard. Just like life.
Same man the movie is so inspiring, sad, so many things I can't describe what this film means to me it means more than words
Un comandante que se convirtio en esclavo, un esclavo que se convirtio en gladiador y un gladiador que reto a un emperador. Que gran historia.
И сколько в ней человечности! !
I had a vision during my suffering with my grandfather words could never describe it take care people
Weak men have created hard times. May the strong men come soon to create good times.
I've seen this movie countless times, i still enjoy see it as if its the first time i watch it. i'm 38, seen a lot of movies and this is maybe the best movie ever made alongside The Godfather saga in my opinion. Truly a masteriece as well as this video!
One of the best films of all time. Without a doubt. Strength and honor.
A masterpiece
Strength and Honor.
All that was - Rome and such - becomes dust, but we know eternity in our hearts, and it pulls each of us to something that forever remains truly beautiful.
