This has been addressed before but the reason B1s are so “chatty” is because your average b1 has been resurrected and put to work so many times and put in so many roles. The skills, experience, as well as trauma they’ve endured have given them so much life it’s beginning to overload their computers and they’re offloading it by acting goofy to compensate. A b1 needs to know how to be an infantryman, a tank crew, a firefighter, a starship pilot, etc at a moments notice. Also, they don’t have their memories wiped like Republic droids. Don’t believe me? Watch S1E1 of the clone wars where a droid clearly states he’s just been promoted. How could this be if their memories are constantly being reset? There may be billions of them but for every b1 you see acting silly, it’s really a warrior that’s seen too much combat to cope with. You can even see this behavior here which makes it sort of morbid in a way. These are war veterans being melted down for parts to become part of yet another war. Not even the clones got it this bad. No one should. The empire is truly monstrous- they should have used these droids to police CIS worlds they occupied.
Sadly they couldn’t with how risky and easily the droids could be turned against them. Even if it saved resources due to how palpatine is he’d never allow that.
Honestly this makes sense especially with who’s the people supporting and funding the CIS. Bankers, investors, major corporations that would loooove to save just a quick buck on having to memory wipe every droid they produce
I find it interesting how the series shows the end of the Republic with the destruction of the Cloning facilities, and the Separatists with the scrapping of the Droid army. I like the Separatists so it was cool getting to see the Droids in action again.
If you think about it, the Confederacy of Independent System started a war for getting their independence from the Republic as it was a corrupted institution controlled by powerful lobbies. The droids were made and melt just so Palpatine could have an excuse to make a war big enough to take the full powers from the senate, out of everyone, the CIS and its droid armies were the most used ones. Palpatine never even considered to keep them alive, they were alone against the biggest and richest institution the galaxy ever saw, the Jedis and Siths both and in the end they just wanted to be free.
I really hope I am wrong, but I doubt we will see Kalani on "The Bad Batch". It is hard to imagine a scenario in which he appears and somehow it does not conflict with his appearance on "Rebels".
