Killed it Nate. Goes to show you don’t need a major production team to put out a TV worthy show. Editing skills are second to none. Best channel on RUclips.
Thank you very much! 🤘
Watch the hot air venting on the fridge/freezer. Trapping the hot air exhaust around it can kill the efficiency.
Exactly my thoughts when I saw the narrow space the fridge slides in. Wonder if OP has some details about performance in praktice? If it has to work hard you’ll notice a faster batttery drain for example (and hear the compressor running constantly).
Tru-dat. I have a 12-volt compressor setup similar to this one. And, yes... it will build up heat quickly if there is no ventilation.
Topo panel was on point. Perfect inspiration for my sheet metal interior on the camper top. Your work is outstanding and thanks for the great content.
Super need to add ventilation for your fridge. You'll burn it out in that tight of a cavity. I'd recommend drilling a bunch of holes around where it vents in your wood panels.
Dude you should rearrange your “LAND ROVER” emblems on the hood to read “OVER LAND R”
Brilliant.
☝️☝️☝️☝️On my team for anagrams.
Awesome!
The topo looks good in there, keeps it from looking like a black hole... Even though you won't be able to see it once you're loaded. And the molle panel would be perfect on the one side! Good shit man, keep it up!
On non-load bearing sections of the storage area, you can cut holes out of the MDF to save weight. Look at airplane and ship building designs for inspiration. In your Roverlander I'm betting there are a few pounds that could be saved. Very neat design, I love watching these videos.
I believe actual box volume is less than 0.34 cubic feet incorporating the material thickness at 0.75. You might be missing some low end. Also, next time you build a drawer system (and sub box) consider using Baltic Birch. Lighter, superior with water/moisture, attractive resonant frequencies, not to mention way healthier to work with (no urea-formaldehyde release when cutting). Baltic comes in 5x5’ sheets, fyi. Love the channel! Keep up the awesome work!
I'd love to do my whole build with that but it's hideously expensive here.
Yes, internal volume is .34, too small for the sub.
is that taking into account the speakers volume displacement also?
Quick questions:
1. Venting\cooling for the fridge?
2. Latches for the slide and drawer?
3. Why not do a proper 12v set-up in the wing voids?
My guess would be this was a quick build to accommodate the trip he is currently on with the roverlander. I would assume that he has plans to address the noted issues in future videos. As for the fridge venting my fridge only requires 1/2 inch of air space around it to be fine, and it was ment to be in the back of a truck (63q element arb fridge)
Nice work! Love the side access cubby holes and simple fridge mount. The drop down variety all weigh a tonne.
The topo panel was awesome. 1 it brightened up the area, 2 added your creativity to it. 3 it's BA. Really looking forward to the video from the trip and probably more excited for the build. Nothing but quality as usual
Think it's really cool how you anticipate those questions. I heard someone say the other day that the definition of a professional. "Is one who can anticipate results and get them". And I think the facts that you are anticipating those questions to first provide value and second save yourself time really shows you at the top of your game and are going to go places keep up the good work.
is never to much when you add your personal touch. leaving the right side open to put longer items is excellent idea. great work
You've quickly become my favorite off-road RUclipsr.
Thank you for your hard work and great content.
the storage system looks great. it looks like you put a lot of thought into it. the topo panel looks cool but i think it will get beat up when you put gear into it. when i first saw the shelf cubby area behind the back seats, i thought that would be a perfect spot for a molle panel. great video. keep them coming
Some of us really appreciate the inclusion of the speaker box!
Im considering making some sort of modular system with being a dual sub box that that fits behind my 2 door JK backs seat, but then can be removed and storage system installed to same mounting points with a smaller sub and no back seat when i dont have the kids to have max storage to keep tunes going on long trips.
I love that your past 2 videos are both things ive been trying to find good videos on for months and you bring them out :D. Keep up the awesome videos. Looking forward to seeing the side storage areas filled
The topo map is definitely cool! It's the perfect project to do while you learn more about bead rolling. Very nice work in this episode, Nate!
Love it. First time I've seen someone put a sub in their overland system. Brilliant. The topo art thing is cool as crap and a great touch.
A really tidy install, love the inclusion of the subwoofer and the gullwing windows are cool too.
I am not much of a rock crawler guy, but I sure do dig the vehicle camping while exploring (overlanding) stuff! Glad you and Brad got together so I was able to find the channel!!
Dude I’m so glad I found your personal RUclips account after you left Bleepin. Your camerawork and your craftsmanship is off the charts. Never stop what you’re doing man!
You're quickly earning your Legend status Nate. I really appreciate your design, skills, and attention to details. Keep up the fantastic work...............and give some more love to that J20!
Great video! Thanks for sharing. Love your ideas of maximizing space efficiency. Also, that mural is KILLER. Nice touch!
You never cease to amaze me. I made a slider box for my jeep to keep the fridge in. It sure doesn't look anything like yours! Great job.
Wow! VERY nice! Well thought out, and looks efficient. Bravo! I gotta say something about the J pickup too. LOVE it!
Hey Mate, Just wanted to say a huge thank you for making these videos. You inspired me to build my own tray for my Mitsubishi Triton, I have gotten so many great tips from your videos!
Great video, I'm doing storage in my tahoe, you have given me some great ideas. Thanks.
I waited like a week or two before watching this video because I didn’t think I’d be interested in seeing something like this. It’s not something I’ll ever do myself, as I’m not into overland I g nor would I build something like this. But let me tell you, the craftsmanship and just overall confidence you’ve got in building something like this is insane! Being able to just freestyle and come up with the brilliance you always end up creating is just wild to see. Your level of fabrication is out of this world.
Thank you for the giant compliment! Comments like this make me inspired to keep creating 👊
you waited a week or two but you commented this the same day it was posted?which at this time the video and your comment are a day old..lol what
MDF looks great and is relatively easy to work with, but don't let that MDF get wet, it will expand faster than I do after a trip to McDonald's!
I thought the very same. I would have added a coat of waterproofing polyurethane before gluing the fabric.
Its also quite heavy compared to other options, I would go with marine ply for something like this
@@MinimaDomum ruclips.net/video/P4LiZU5VIvg/видео.html
Minima Domum weight is a really important factor, and Nate is well aware. He has the skills and equipment to make an aluminum framework, I’m guessing this is a "just get it out there" solution.
MDF is hugely heavy.. omg.. no wonder he's going 1 ton axles.. will need a Cummins 12v next to get it moving
Once again knocked it out of the park! You're content, and delivery is superb! Anyway I suggest putting all your recovery gear, and emergency supplies on the drivers side window box. It'll make it all easier/quicker to access when needed. For your cooking geer I'd design a way to hang it all off the back door in the window area. You're not going to be able to see out of it anyway, and it'll also be right there convenient for cooking without having to walk around the open door constantly. Lastly on your beauty panel. Polish it, and make it pop!
Dude.....
Thanks so much for posting this vid. I have been looking for a sink water heater combo setup. 😳
Really like your craftsmanship, attention to details. You take pride in your work!
Excellent job!💯👍
I think that came out really nice Nate . I 'm looking forward to see how it worked out for you on your trip and if any changes will take place . Great job Nate .
Wow this project turned out really well. I really like how you keep functionality and aesthetics balanced.
Thank you!
This build Needs a canopy hanging off the back so you can cook in shade! Great video!! Your craftsmanship is remarkable.
Now that the rear hatch window is no longer needed, it looks recessed enough to cover with small item storage or a molle panel.
You beat me to it! Exactly what I was thinking. Perfect for all the random kitchen/cooking items.
Awesome video I will refer my viewers at Rover Dude Adventures.
"Dibbs" on Rear Passenger Seat!
I like to FEEL the music!
Another thing to consider is Center of Gravity. Keep your heaviest items as low as possible. This tends to be safe for travel and your back when moving and lifting those heavy necessities.
The sides where your windows were would be a great place to put your recovery gear. It would make it fast and easy to get to everything you need
Hell yea brother, saw the post on Instagram and couldn't wait for the upload! Thanks Nate, phenomenal work as always 👍🇺🇸🦅
Thanks buddy! 🤘
You amaze me with every fab video you put out. That storage system is sick and looks amazing. Can't wait to see how it works out for you and what changes you find you need to do, if any.
Always have to watch ASAP. Great content. Really enjoy the pace and style of your videos.
Thanks!
As always absolutely loved it ! Gave me more ideas for my overland TJ build in progress !
Epic dude! I have a family too and it's great that this is practical for the young ones as well
As always great craftsmanship, the topo looks good, the slide, and drawer probably need a latching system if not equipped, hate to see the rear door work damaged.
Your video work is getting even better, have fun in California, expect to see some good videos from that trip.
I like it it adds contrast and ties into the raw piece on the rear door
Nate! your PPE game is on point. Thanks for setting a good example for others
Great video Nate, I am currently browsing different videos of drawer systems. I have a 2007 Chevy 3/4 ton short bed with a work topper. I'm hoping soon to have a plan for the system that will be most efficient, budget friendly, and cosmeticly appeasing. Your videos give me several ideas and also how to incorporate different ideas. Thanks
Great channel Nate! Sooooooo many ideas just from this one video. I currently own a 2011 Range Rover L322 that I have outfitted for Overlanding. Thnaks for sharing your ideas.
Nice! Sounds like you have a sweet project and I'm happy to share my ideas 🤘
You have an amazing imagination, and more importantly the skills and drive to produce, film, finish and show the World!
Great build! I also did mine for my GX👊🏽. Thanks for including speaker 🔊 box build 👍🏼
Absolutely crushing it Nate! Awsome work. Love your vision on this build.
Very cool. The first thing I thought of when I saw your carpeted system is that it looks like a sub box. Sure enough you added a sub!
Awesome job as usual. The topo panel looks so cool in there. I like that you tied in art with a project like this. 👍
Great stuff... thanks ! I would suggest to have the cooking gear in the drawer next to the fridge to keep it all in the same place. You could add a folding table on the back of the trunk door... enjoy!
Awesome craftsmanship! Keep up the good work, looking forward to the rest of the build.
That Joolca thing looks awesome! I've seen the little shower thing, but never a way to wash dishes with it
I would add a small lip to the top storage area to help keep any heavier items out of the window. It's easy to say that you don't plan on putting anything heavy up there, but when you run out of other options...
For someone that doesn't do a lot of extended 4x4 travel, you killed it! Great build and ideas.
Great video Nate!! I really like the bead-rolled topo. I just built a similar setup in my xj and I'm heading out on a weeklong trip tomorrow!
Good build man. I love it! Ive got a loooong history of camping, and having something like that at my disposal would be awesome.
That topo map is so over the top, in the most complementary way possible! I am def going to steal that idea!
also might need something to keep the drawers from rolling out into the hatch under acceleration or climbing uphill. maybe some neodymium magnets at the back of the rails or a flip up latch in front of the drawer
Subscribed! What a talented and creative guy. I live my D2 and will be living my Landy Life vicariously through your channel. Thanks man... More power to you!!
That topo map was a good idea I like that
Love the topo! 😀 Something to think about for next build. Mdf is heavy, plywood has a lot less weight and still strong. The layout is great! 😀
Looks like a good set up. That Disco as you call it, has a lot of storage.
As always, great video, my favorite diy overlanding and offroader channel out there.
Awesome work man, great diy work, very practical and great you can change it to suit what ever your going to be doing 👌🏻👌🏻
Awesome! I'm in the midst of coming up with an idea to make a storage area for the back of the LJ that locks with the tail gate. Gonna make a video of it too.
AWESOME and totally love the topo bead panel. IMHO, You should do the same topo effect to the rear door panel as well. Keep up to the great ideas and content!
Good looking tray for the fridge. Full bottom too adding rigidity. And that Topo graphic! Nice!
Thanks!
I know you're very skilled but still in awe of how you whip this stuff up and it just works.
Really awesome setup! I like the way you maximized space on all sides. I didn't go vertical because I need the space for my giant dog.
If you do another one of these, you should consider Birch Plywood instead of MDF. It's a TON lighter and handles moisture better. Easy to work with as well
I'm thrilled to watch your fabrication.
Very interesting.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Nate, your fabrication imagination is crazy. I understand your process, but you seem to think of everything. and the detail is just out of this world. I know I was just happy to get my Jeep out of the shop and ready to wheel.
I'm digging it.. looks great to me. Awesome video. Keep them coming
Did almost the same thing but to my 2012 JKU, works awesome for camping and life
absolutely awesome! i'm sure the topo could be better but it adds a little something to the over all look and really ties in the overland build/theme. well done once again
Lots of cool gear items. I still haven't broke down and got a fridge freezer. I just use a Lifetime Cooler and has been working great so far.
Loving the rover work. Thanks for the update.
Food for thought, I like molle idea on the one side and then maybe mount your air compress on the other along with other electrical equipment on the other side like an inverter. Then you could put a 110v wall outlet on the small filler panel beside the fridge along with a USB and Cig outlet and maybe all the same but accessible if sitting in the back seat. Hopefully that makes sense but keep up the good work!
The Topo map was legit outstanding! Super motivational video. I want to build something. Thanks for setting the bar high.
Thanks man 👍
Nice. Inspirational work on the whole system.
I would be lying if I said I wasnt jealous of your shop, your rigs, and your talent. well done sir, well done.
Lovin it! Great video man, feeling the creativity. Also the topo is legit! 👌 nice artistic touch.
AWESOME WORK! I love the detail you provide. I like the "RoverLander"!! So Cool to see a NON JK/JL Jeep build!
Thanks buddy!
I may not have agreed with some of you specific choices, but I admire your work and attention to detail. You did an awesome job and the end product is sick!
Late here. Nice build. Considering build vs decked storage system. The battery backup is definitely at the heart of build strategy.
Never been a huge fan of the DIscoveries but watching you may be changing my mind.
Hey Nate, checkout Titan drawers. They make similar systems to what you built, might find some ideas to incorporate into this build. I love the shelf storage with the net, great for all the bulky gear.
Hi Nate! Think of you kitchen like the one in your hose. Having all the kitchen in one of the goos wing and the kitchen on your rear door make a lot of walking around. The space above the drawer is a good place for that also.
Thanks again, I like your of explaining things, keep up the good work!
Nicely constructed storage . . And video! 👍 I made my own and one thing I did was to carpet installed de the drawers 👌😁
Awesome build. Really good ideas. I dig the topo detail.
Looking top notch!! Personally, I think the topo panel makes the whole build. 👍👍
Thanks!
Nate, I love all of your content but there is something about watching you build stuff that really gets me interested.
Love the speaker box. Did it sound good in that location? Lots of stuff around it.
Your aluminum drawer for the fridge was freakin awesome. That was my favorite part. I would have liked to see more of a close up there.
Looks awesome!
Hi Nate. good to see you. very good work. you come up with some good ideas. thank you for your X-per tise.
Absolutely a great project!!! My favorite channel along with TrailRecon!!!! Keep doin what you’re doin man!
Thanks man!
Greetings from England, Some great mods you have for your D2 will keep an eye on your channel for new idea's for my own modified Disco 2. subbed
Thank you! Welcome aboard!
