      OH YES PLEASE..... I'd give serious consideration(once the COVID caper is over) to spending time at Darkside sitting for hours being told "what's what" regards what these good people know/have found out about VW group products.

    Crazy, in Germany you're looking at 8-10.000€ just for the parts alone. Very nice to see the BAC and consortium to see some love. I have a Touareg R5 with a simple chip which woke up the car in many ways. Fuel consumption went down from 9,8L/100km on mainly city and country to 7,7L/100km and the torque limit beneath 2100 where the engine just died, making accelerating even in first gear a problem, went away and now you get power from 1800 onwards with more power beneath 2000 in every gear. It's quicker and cleaner too, no smoke anymore and at the TÜV the clouding/smoke value was at 0.08 whereas the acceptable limit to pass exhaust inspection sits at 0.25, crazy!

    I never seen someone gaining this T5 R5 engine like this. Really cool. We are sleeving these blocks in our workshop and doing full rebuild for customers, but this is something else. Great job!

    If ever you have the sump off again, I'd suggest welding reinforcing on the baffle plate unsupported section towards the oil pump, these crack at the curved corners and break off....awesome build though on these god damn problematic engines. Surprised no injector bridge, best thing I bought from you guys!

    When its finished u need to do a comparision with a slower car and how to make it faster. 0-60mph of slower car vs that same car on back of the truck

    Never knew these engines were plasma coated. We use the plasma ion coating at Cosworth on the Valkyrie and Honda engines. It's an extremely hard surface that it honed really smooth to reduce friction, improve longevity and efficiency. It's a very intersecting process to see.

    The v10 you have is basically 2 of these put together from what I understand.

    hello. You mention that the cylinder lining goes out. As I understand, this was a problem more with the first generation, up until 2007 or so. But 2008 and after, this was corrected. Do you recommend to sleeve the cylinder lining in older generation engines that don't have this problem?

      We would only do this if it is necessary. If they don't have this problem then probably no need.

    @14:46, for the timing adjustment just a question (if I may), I remember VAG request to set the pivot counter clock wise to 50Ncm (witch is misleading, why no putting 0.5Nm?!) with the special tool T10234. Is that absolutely compulsory? Do you have a rule of thumb to set this, looks like you set it by hand before torquing the main bolt. Thanks very much! Wonderful handcraft

      We don't use the tool but we did have to adjust this as the head and block have been skimmed so the timing was 'out' as far as the ECU was concerned.

    How come you can run a filter straight onto the turbo with no maf sensor or do you re position it. I have the AXD model. Just purchased your large AEM FILTER. Do you guys do a new intake pipe for these engines/filter??? Love the engine builds 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

    Why did you choose a single turbo over compounding? Sounds counterintuitive for a vehicle that needs low end torque

      We might do something later but this is a tried and tested route turbo wise, spool will be reasonable enough I think.

    I like the 2.5 displacement and I really like the fact that it’s gear driven and can comfortably do around 300 hp. Would this be the motor you guys would recommend if I were swapping it into something or would there be something to better fit the bill?

    Is that 5 cylinder diesel a 2 liter ore more? Was that engine only in T5? Is it possible to swap that engine in a T6 whit 207hp tdi engine?

    My favourite motor of all time! My 05' transporter from Australia. 250,000km and going strong. Love working on them too.
    Whats the parts cost on this motor Ryan? For everything pistons, injectors, cam, turbo, manifold?

      @@coupes3945 allard power pipe, PP1 injectors, hybrid turbo, bigger downpipe with a 2.5 inch straight through exhaust, subsequently re-fitted the cat to be legal. And it was put on a rolling road, the first time I drove it after it was like a group B rally car. Took it back and asked for low down torque. It did 300,000 miles tuned like that, and was excellent on fuel. Honestly the best money spent.

      @@coupes3945 PP1 injectors, allard power pipe egr delete. Hybrid turbo, free flow down pipe and straight through 2.5 exhaust. And a day on a rolling road. It was like a group B rally car when I first got it back, returned it and asked for lazy low down torque as it is a working vehicle. It did over 300k in that state of tune. Oh and I did refit the cat as I wanted to be legal. Totally strangles it’s performance:-(

    Hi great detail in your videos.any chance you could swap an engine on my t4 1999.2.5tdi acv.I have a good engine coming soon.just needs clean and putting cam belt kit on plus water pump .and diesel belt think.I has new clutch dmf fitted recently an alternator new I did_.local guy did clutch was from AUTODOC Germany.how much roughly if you can do please?steve in Cheshire .😀

    Absolutely crazy but I love it. hope it'll exceed 400 see what it brings. that'll bring cars to burger ring in no time. That's gonna pull a trailer to bits. I love the idea of timing gears and its hard to beat the 5 cyl sounds. wonder will transporter injector units work on a 1.9 engine. This content is fire its way better than porn lol I cant wait to see more of this.

      Cheers, the injectors are the same shape but the offset angle of the nozzles different so they smoke like mad if you interchange either way ;)

    Great videos guys. Looking to put your turbo kit on mine. How does the Race cam feel under normal driving? Mines. 2.0 140 DSG Wondering if it’ll make it idle or drive rough under normal driving? Want power but also don’t want to affect normal low speed driving.

      It is a little back and forth, if you see just this video. From a Trainer perspective is is always a good idea to start with a small agenda, if in a series, with what is the background, what has been done.
      What is the goal and how do you need to change parts to get there/why.

      Had a 2000 passat v6 tdi 4motion drove it 5years not a single scoring on the cams.
      But if you stick to factory intervals you are in trouble.
