I am Amanda from Hong Kong. I create easy and practical Cantonese learning videos for complete beginners to intermediate learners. My full-time job is as a flight attendant, but in my spare time, I enjoy studying foreign languages. My job allows me to visit many places and meet a variety of people, providing me with plenty of opportunities to practice what I have learned.
Due to COVID-19, I haven't flown regularly for over a year, but I find RUclips extremely helpful for maintaining my language proficiency. One day, out of curiosity, I looked for Cantonese learning channels and was surprised to find that there are so few, with most of the good ones being from overseas. That's why I started "5 Minute Cantonese" in 2020.

Another great lesson Amanda. Thank you. Could we get maybe a video on stress and relax? “I am stressed” “holidays with family is stressful”. “This vacation is so relaxing” for examples. Just an idea.

小器 is basically "petty", making you pout

Yes! Thank you very much! This is the best translation.👍🏻 Just in the Cantonese version, it doesn't mean stingy or less important.

ooh so interesting. Yeah does seem hard to translate. Seems like it means "to hold a grudge" or be "petty".

This is not easy to translate. We use it very often.

The word “petty” is an excellent translation of the Cantonese expression “siu2 hei3.” I’m an ABC (American-born Chinese) with parents from Hong Kong.
