Just a thaught here But what if Geramany and Japan just didnt become allies? Yes they both had similar ideologies, but it would be possible to have them not ally due to the sheer distance between them ,right?
Or what if they were actually allies instead of just on paper, they didnt actually plan anything together, like what if japan went after the soviets aswell ikstead of the islands south
That not a thought that is reality. Germany had much closer relationship with china than japan. Japan went to war against them in ww1. A china or japan alliance went undecided until the outset of the war.
the Nazis never stood a chance. Could a completely different dictatorship, centered only around eastern aggression succeed? Maybe. But not the Nazis. As this Video shows, the US is too big and too isolated to loose to germany.
39:28 As you've stated in a prior video, Canada was already independent by WW2. They entered the war by their own volition to help Britain, not because they were a satellite.
Nazism probably would not rise in Germany, although some other nationalist movement might have formed in its place, with this alternate movement maybe viewing Hitler as some sort of martyr or something like that. It's possible that Germany could have gone Communist instead, or there could have been a German civil war at some point. It's impossible to know for sure.
I know this is highly unrealistic but i wonder what would happen if allied incompetence was removed and France invaded Germany after 3 weeks of war like they claimed they would.
They probably would have had a difficult time bringing down Germany. Progress would be slow since the French military at the beginning of WWII was not very well-modernized yet. It might end in an Allied victory earlier than in our timeline since Germany would need to redeploy troops from the Polish invasion in the east to the west to protect their western flank, which would take precious time and resources away from the invasion and occupation of Poland. However, it probably would take quite a bit of time for France and Britain to make any progress. There's also a chance that it would turn into a stalemate like World War 1 did. It's really not possible to know exactly how such an alternate timeline would end for the Germans.
Day seven and week one of asking for videos I'd like to see. -What if the confederacy won the civil war. -What if Italy was militarily competent in ww2 -what if Italy sided with the allies in ww2 -what if the dinosaurs never went extinct (this isn't really history but still cool) -what if the cold war went nuclear -what if Italy sided with the central powers -what if Charles Babbage had successfully completed his analytical engine
This actually sounds interesting, although Britain likely would've taken the Dutch East Indies then (Britain was thinking about taking both, and I'm sure they'd be unable to resist to take at least one.)
Would love to see a further exploration of that last scenario, has some interesting potential for a three-way cold war between the US, Germany, and potentially even a UK-USSR axis
I think the biggest impact asassinating the leaders at Yalta would be on the post-war world. Roosevelt died before the end of the war anyway and Churchhill was voted out quickly, but Stalin was in power until his death in 1953. I wonder if the Cold War may have taken longer to get going, or ever get to the extent that it did if there was somebody less paranoid and power hungry at the helm of the Soviet Union.
Ur missing the potential of Japan to arm if they are not at war with US but have all of South East Asia under their control + invasion of India starting. Intact navy + resources to build thousands of new planes. While US slowly re-arms, Japan already has control of all they need to be a great power without any issues, for 1, 2 years? can US leadership motive their people to war after the initial shock of the Japanese conquest? which was super fast, and would be again, maybe even faster.
It's weird, I always thought Operation Barbarossa was essentially an error on the Germans' part, but it seems pretty much necessary for any Axis victory. Can't wait to see part 3 in a week or two! ^^
You make good arguments but I fundamentally don't like "X could never do Y" in history. If Alexander the Great had fallen off his horse after the first battle people would be making videos "Why Alexander could've never conquered Persia" History is down to the actions and decisions of individuals.
...Kinda. The point is that there are no "what if he didn't fall off the horse" moments for Germany that could save them. The two scenarios are millenia apart, and while a few brilliant moves could crush an entire empire in the times of Alexander, in WW2, no changes on the tactical level could salvage the abysmal German strategic situation. Alexander the great can maneuver his army in a way that mitigates his numerical inferiority. The Germans cannot simply maneuver their army into having more fuel, or making more ammunition appear, or making their men less critically exhausted. For Alexander the Great, a single victory can prevent economic collapse and keep the army fed and funded. For the Germans, a single victory today means a crushing defeat tomorrow because there will never be enough men or materiel to replace the lost soldiers and resources. Modern war is a different beast, the second world War especially. Perhaps it could be possible that if for a comically long time the Germans make the right choices and their opponents all make inconceivably wrong choices, (and never learn from any of them, and never get replaced) and everything goes PERFECTLY, we could see a temporary German victory. But that is horribly improbable. When something is so improbable and illogical, we tend to consider it impossible, even if it isn't technically impossible strictly speaking.
The US created a significant interest in Britain winning with lend lease. The moment it loaned to the allies, it needed them to win to pay back. You have to go back to pre lend lease essentially to stop it.
One mistake in the video clement Attlee would not have succeeded Churchill. The conservatives held a overwhelming majority in parliament and would have made Anthony eden the foreign minister and Churchills actual successor as leader of the conservative party.
An interesting argument is of the Germans didn't fight for stalingrad like they did. You have to remember, they were trying to stop the flow of supplies to Moscow on the river through the city. They could've gone, to my knowledge, anywhere on the river to do so, but chose stalingrad due to hitler's pride.
One thing i think would really help germany during ww2 is the oil and gas that was actually under their contol, but only discovered 5-10 years after the war, such as in poland and the netherlands, nothing north sea of course, a capture of troops at dunkirk and extra oil, maybe case anton would be succsessfull, i can definetly see the uk white peacing and the japanese helping in a war against the soviets leading to domination of the continent before the americans can join, there is also plenty of oil and gas in japanese territory that wasnt discovered untill after the war
35:08 i dont think thats true. winston churchill was once asked about the role of clement atlee whom was the first deputy pm in british history. Churchiill said that if he were to die the king should send for Anthony Eden not clement atlee. Also this would be controversial for british politics as churchill was leader of the conservative party and atlee was leader of the labour party which hadn't been elected
So this is basically like the Potential History video except isn't just based around "German tanks didn't work" and "the Soviet war machine was magic actually".
The thing is the German tanks didn’t work and the Soviet war machine was a lot better than Germanys. The Soviets could afford loss after loss, if the Germans ever stalled for too long or even a semi major deal they would be crippled.
I kind of like the premise of making one big unrealistic change and then seeing how it would alter things, its almost like Possible History covering a Hearts of Iron ahistorical focus tree, while its obviously completely impossible seeing how the war would be completely in Germanys Favour just by altering American leadership to be fascist was entertaining It reminds me of the times he allowed chat to make maps post-war Maybe he could let chat select the leadership of countries for World War 2, using Hearts of Iron IV as a reference Get Oswald Mosley in charge of the British Empire and let Edward get that marriage, why not If you do by slim chance take up this idea I beg of you Do not allow Huey Long to take power
In the fall of 1941, Japan had signaled to Stalin that it had no territorial claims on Russia. That was the mistake. Together with the fact that Germany's attack on Russia was delayed until the end of June. What happened? Stalin withdrew his troops in Siberia in the fall and, surprisingly for the Germans, significantly increased his forces in front of Moscow. Strong winter + Japan's diplomatic mistake + Hitler's strategic mistake in delaying the war until June 22. If only one of these scenarios had not occurred, Germany would have conquered Moscow in 1941 and thus had clear superiority in Russia. Russia would not have given up, but the most important economic areas would have been in German hands by the end of 1941 and Russia would have found it very difficult to return. If Japan had simply not made it clear to Stalin at the worst possible time that it would not attack, but only 3 months later. The war against Russia might even have been won. Or the winter would not have been one of Russia's worst. The USA was not the giant that was held in such high esteem. If Germany had fought the USA alone, without any other country intervening, the USA would have capitulated after 6 months. There were even 4-star generals of the USA who said at the end of the war, “We killed the Germans with the masses. Russia+USA+England And they said that if Germany had had just 6 months more time to advance its technological developments, we would probably have lost the war. “ These 4-star generals of the USA should know.Basically, Japan had made the mistakes. Russia had enough oil. If the Japanese had also attacked Russia in the east, Russia would have been defeated quickly and the oil could have been brought to Japan by rail. And after Russian is fallen, The Other had no chance. USA was to weak. USA dont win any war. Not against Afghanistan, Vietnam,Irak. Al wars was lose! In WW2 Germany was much stronger than the USA much much stronger.
There is another option for Japan not attacking Pearl Harbor: Japan wins the Battle of Khalkhin Gol. Japan first pursued Soviet oil before diverting to try for American oil, but they were stopped at Khalkhin Gol, and the Japanese and Soviets signed a nonaggression pact. This is why the Soviets didn’t help in the war against Japan until 1945. If Japan won at Khalkhin Gol, they would have continued their campaign into the Soviet Union into 1939-1940, which would have softened the Soviets up for Operation Barbarossa, and would have given the Soviets a two-front war. Even with lend-lease, the Soviet Union might not be able to hold out against that onslaught.
Alt scenario in terms of Pearl Harbor not happening: Japan increases trade with Latin America (specifically oil) as the government sees US sanctions as a huge possibility and believes thats a safer alternative than having to invade the Dutch East Indies.
I didn't watch Part 1, but my thinking of a possible win for Germany is as follows: Germany insists on assisting Italy in North Africa ASAP. With that, they may be able to take Egypt and the rest of the Europe-colonized Middle East. At that point, Iraq and Iran can join the Axis the way they wanted to. Surrounded by the Axis on almost all sides, and having already made war-related deals with Germany, Turkey joins the Axis as well (possibly covertly, the way Bulgaria did, I think). Then in Barbarosa, the Axis is invading with possibly 1.5+ million extra troops (Italy lost a stupid number of troops in North Africa, plus the forces that were fighting in North Africa during Barbarosa, plus the Turkish, Iraqi, and Iranian troops), is invading the USSR from the South as well, and can capture key oil fields before Stalin's scorched earth order is obeyed.
I feel like the best question is what if Pearl Harbour had a third wave. There were two waves of attacks and a third would have been focused more on the other things like oil storage submarine docks dry docks and a lot of other important things. One regret Yamamoto had was they did take the third wave and do a lot more damage to Pearl Harbour. What would it change? Maybe not much immediately as Germany still declares war and Germany is the focus however it would likely make events like the Doolittle raid impossible and make it harder for America to repair it's battleship fleet in the short term allowing the Japanese to go wild in Asia for a little longer. Would this help Germany? Probably not, it would mean that Japan can consolidate conquests better with more time and less American ability to fight back. There's also the question of Midway as pearl harbour couldn't destroy the carriers and that's a big part of what caused the defeat. But also if they don't have their battleships in the pacific up and ready fast enough the carriers might be too unprotected and can be destroyed. Idk how realistic it is but I'm guessing not very
Hey Possible love your stuff, want to say I've like to see you do another Interactive History obviously WW2 might be a no because Nazis ew but their are other wars or whatever you could do. If you take suggestions for videos here’s mine. What if the uk threatened a nuclear response against Argentina in the falklands war I think it would make an interesting video no matter how realistic it is
1:20 "Better army" is an even bigger joke. The Americans, despite their numerical superiority, could lose to the Germans on the Western Front (Hurtgen Forest, Market Garden) who were made up of second-rate undermanned divisions. The Wehrmacht was the most powerful military machine that could only be destroyed by the cannon fodder on the Eastern Front.
Market garden was done by the British, hurtgen forest was 1 battle, America almost took Berlin but stuck at the Elbe for a reason. Yeah, no. Spitting wehraboo trash like the Germans did any meaningful offensive after 1943
Any Nazi victory scenario requires one of two things:
1. Nazis doing something uncharacteristic.
2. Nazis getting lucky. (For example having Churchill die before the war, or enigma not being cracked, or whatever.)
Even if Churchill died, the British would have continued the war. Chamberlain was entirely committed to the defeat of Germany by 1940.
Nazis not being nazis and not purging anyone "unwanted" who actually wants to fight for the reich/just dont seeking to extinct slavs
The Nazis were lucky to get as far as they did, the Battle of France could have been a slow meatgrinder resulting in their economy collapsing.
3. The US going Fascist

Or what if they were actually allies instead of just on paper, they didnt actually plan anything together, like what if japan went after the soviets aswell ikstead of the islands south
@@grandicusbecause invading siberia in one of the coldest russian winters ever is such a good idea.
@@grandicus The Japanese tried to invade Siberia, and failed. The Battles of Khalkhin Gol were utter failures for the Japanese.
That not a thought that is reality. Germany had much closer relationship with china than japan. Japan went to war against them in ww1. A china or japan alliance went undecided until the outset of the war.
The PH situation is crazy
Wait what
@dqnkdoggo_ it was unlisted for a while
What if everything went perfect for the white race? 😀
^ it already has
@@Scober420 Not enough by far 🤣
Crusades, Colonialism,…
It is really difficult for an axis victory scenario to be really realistic.
the Nazis never stood a chance. Could a completely different dictatorship, centered only around eastern aggression succeed? Maybe. But not the Nazis. As this Video shows, the US is too big and too isolated to loose to germany.
Agree@@brokkoli3245.
love your channel!
I hope you make a "what if everything went perfect for japan" video
39:28 As you've stated in a prior video, Canada was already independent by WW2. They entered the war by their own volition to help Britain, not because they were a satellite.
What If everything went perfect for interwar Germany(Weimar Republic)?
Nice work
Alternate history scenario: What if hitler was executed for treason after his coup d'état in 1923?
Nazism probably would not rise in Germany, although some other nationalist movement might have formed in its place, with this alternate movement maybe viewing Hitler as some sort of martyr or something like that. It's possible that Germany could have gone Communist instead, or there could have been a German civil war at some point. It's impossible to know for sure.
another great possible history vid 🔥❤
33:31 Ah yes, the German spies are British and Soviet spies
I know this is highly unrealistic but i wonder what would happen if allied incompetence was removed and France invaded Germany after 3 weeks of war like they claimed they would.
They did
They probably would have had a difficult time bringing down Germany.
The Tehran one could be a video on its own
Day seven and week one of asking for videos I'd like to see.
-What if the confederacy won the civil war.
-What if Italy was militarily competent in ww2
-what if Italy sided with the allies in ww2
-what if the dinosaurs never went extinct (this isn't really history but still cool)
-what if the cold war went nuclear
-what if Italy sided with the central powers
-what if Charles Babbage had successfully completed his analytical engine
What if Britain returned Cape Colony to the Netherlands after the Napoleonic Wars?
28th video asking for "what if everything went perfect for Italy"
For the last one, I wonder what Germany would've done about their alliance with Japan
The 2 nuclear bombs were actually intended for Germany, not Japan . The targets were Hamburg and Cologne, I think .
Unlisted upload?
You make good arguments but I fundamentally don't like "X could never do Y" in history. If Alexander the Great had fallen off his horse after the first battle people would be making videos "Why Alexander could've never conquered Persia" History is down to the actions and decisions of individuals.
actually a good way to put it, never thought of it like that. thanks
Individual leaders can’t overwhelm economic and logistical realities on their own
what if Japan as a british ally atacked pearl harbor
They most likely wouldn’t, they would have access to the British resources most likely focusing on striking north instead of south
That requires WWI not to happen. Any lingering tensions between Britain and the United States ceased during WWI.
Scenario Idea: What if Serbia/Yugoslavia won the Yugoslav wars?
What if everything went perfect for Romania? (request #10)
Basically there is no timeline where Japan doesn’t lose
What if everything went perfectly for Portugal?
The US created a significant interest in Britain winning with lend lease. The moment it loaned to the allies, it needed them to win to pay back. You have to go back to pre lend lease essentially to stop it.
Can you make a part 2 for the perfect Napoleon video?
Ppl talking about shadow ban but the video says it was just released an hour ago for me lol I think PH just forgot to list/public the video.
One mistake in the video clement Attlee would not have succeeded Churchill. The conservatives held a overwhelming majority in parliament and would have made Anthony eden the foreign minister and Churchills actual successor as leader of the conservative party.
Not gonna lie, the British pulling off Torch alone is a pipe-dream.
Vid idea: What if the 2 sicilies united italy way earlier?? Or just a what if everything went perfect for sicily?
What if Germany took Bohemia in the astro Prussian war.
I think Beria would succeed Stalin with Malenkov, but agree with the rest.
I'm gonna touch you possible history
Incredible video. I just wanted to point out, is the clip of the british (i assume) soldiers at 35:09 ai? it really looks like it.
Discord when? A certain Bulgarian and a certain American whose name starts with V have done it well…
He has a discord...
Suggestion: What if Poland accepted all territorial demands from Germany and didn't get invaded during WW2?
I love to watch ph, ph is so entertaining and enjoyable
So this is basically like the Potential History video except isn't just based around "German tanks didn't work" and "the Soviet war machine was magic actually".
The thing is the German tanks didn’t work and the Soviet war machine was a lot better than Germanys. The Soviets could afford loss after loss, if the Germans ever stalled for too long or even a semi major deal they would be crippled.
I kind of like the premise of making one big unrealistic change and then seeing how it would alter things, its almost like Possible History covering a Hearts of Iron ahistorical focus tree, while its obviously completely impossible seeing how the war would be completely in Germanys Favour just by altering American leadership to be fascist was entertaining
It reminds me of the times he allowed chat to make maps post-war
Maybe he could let chat select the leadership of countries for World War 2, using Hearts of Iron IV as a reference
Get Oswald Mosley in charge of the British Empire and let Edward get that marriage, why not
If you do by slim chance take up this idea I beg of you

What if dinosaurs survived in south america?
What if Goering comes out on top after the oster conspiracy is successful?
Please mention the Berlin-Moscow axis. You could lead it up with something like the british actually implementing operation pike

Video 21 of asking for what if sun yat sen’s china survived
Sie ist vielleicht einfach die bescheidenste und herzerwärmendste Person, die es gibt😊😊😊🤩
Alt scenario in terms of Pearl Harbor not happening: Japan increases trade with Latin America (specifically oil) as the government sees US sanctions as a huge possibility and believes thats a safer alternative than having to invade the Dutch East Indies.
what app did you use to edit the world map?
Hi i have a video idea what if the English win the 100 years war can you make this into a video pretty please
How about ,,Japan Could(n't) win WW2'' Scenario? i imagine it is way more crazy to make it real
Idk how realistic it is but I'm guessing not very
theres a 3 novel series called Twilight of the Gods where the nazis control Europe in 1985 the reason is because hitter didnt declare war on the US
Hey Possible love your stuff, want to say I've like to see you do another Interactive History obviously WW2 might be a no because Nazis ew but their are other wars or whatever you could do. Also i like to see a What if the Mensheviks won the Russian Civil War, Zapata won the Mexican Revolution and Ukrainian Black Army took over Ukraine.
If you take suggestions for videos here’s mine.
What if the uk threatened a nuclear response against Argentina in the falklands war
I think it would make an interesting video no matter how realistic it is
Only 3.000 Subs to go! Im hyped for the 200k What if evrithing went perfect for Italy special!!!

We have mike tyson
Market garden was done by the British, hurtgen forest was 1 battle, America almost took Berlin but stuck at the Elbe for a reason. Yeah, no. Spitting wehraboo trash like the Germans did any meaningful offensive after 1943
