That was a really good meeting with a friendly feel to it all, exactly as it should be. Big shout out to John W, Lance and everybody involved in the Iconic Cup. It's a great event that many other series could learn a thing or two from and you're all welcome at Halifax anytime. I'm so glad the weather held out and you got to see our theatre of speed in all its glory (cos sometimes it's a bit grim up North).
So freaking happy I found this channel, focusing more on racing than bashing! Just got an Xray x4 as my first ever touring car and next month the track opens and I'm gonna get into RC racing! This helps me calm my nerves 😂
@mattsease4687 I've been forced to work 3 weekends in a row cus of sick colleagues, so my car is still gathering dust.. Going to the club on Sunday! (Hopefully😴)
@@xDraZtiCx I got the 24 yr model.I run on asphalt and the box stock setup worked amazing. Was running matrix 28 shore rubber tires. Could have went with the 32shore as it was a bit warm out. I think the most difficult part for me was getting the body set correctly. Had to trim more of the wheel wells out. And added a body stop screw.
Fantastic weekend racing at Halifax, very challenging track as you say, and the grip seemed to evolve constantly. I was hoping to be on that bottom step with you in the C final but couldn't hold off the nerves in my battle with Paul! Great vid though guys.
Great racing boss, I love wathing as I can't get down ther to go racing, 600miles is a long way. Maybe some day I'll get there to watch or even start racing my TT02 or TT02S on the track.😊😊😊
Amazing facility. You guys should go back on a 1/5 scale race day and get us some race coverage , pit walk and idriver nterviews the Popalong RC way....
That's very close to me, I'm quite new to hobby & considering joining that club next year. It's fantastic seeing some upto date detailed footage! Keep up the great content lads!
Yep it was their video they did of the MKRCCC that got me in to racing too, I was looking for clubs nearby, found that one online watched the video and now I'm fully invested in the hobby. Keep up the great work guys, another fantastic video 👍
Great to see the Halifax track on here, last time i raced on here was back in 2000 not long after it opened, i helped build the old track that they used to race on in the late 80's early 90's
Great to have you guys along at these events, its been an amazing first year for us at the Iconic cup. You should popalong on the friday nights and camp over to share a few beers - always welcome at our tent (The Welshies) 😉
Those things are fast ! Great racing all round I really don't know how you control the cars at those speeds. I think i will stay with my construction RC much more civilised pace but without the luxury of bacon sausage sandwiches. Cheers from Australia
@@PopalongRC just had a look for a local club , closest off road track is 400k away road racing circuit is about 1100k away . Almost worth the trip for a bacon and egg roll . The bit that locks me out is stairs we are not on talking terms and my wheelchair is not quite able to climb stairs . On the upside could always build a track through the bush using rc diggers, loaders and a dragline i built that should fill in the next few years lol .
One thing IFMAR needs to figure out is a way to standardize the beginner/economic/advantage-leveling classes. Globally we have TT02, VTA, USGT, and Traxxas 4tec classes which basically serve the same purpose. As a beginner it's a complete nightmare and makes finding information very difficult because the already small global community is splintered off
That is why buggy racing is booming : Off road 2wd or 4wd Onroad 2wd - 4wd- mini- frontie- tamiya- mardave mini- gt12 - hotrods - f1 -LMP - tamiya trucks- oval
When Halifax floods, the track isn't 'cleaned' by it, it has a layer of mud on it which means asking the Council guys with sweepers to go around. Good track for 1/5 bikes, I really ought to get mine out around there again.
We had two Canada geese land on the Halifax track once, I had to throw a towel over them and carry them off 😅. That was a brca bike national. Great place.
Have you figured out the clicking sound yet? It sounds like it could be the inner webbing on the wheel rubbing on the hub, I’ve had that issue before. But it definitely sounds like plastic on plastic, maybe a transmission gear has a chipped tooth?
Would you recommend this Tamiya class for a beginner to RC racing? Is it a popular class to get started with? I have been into RC since a young age and used to use a TT01 for drifting back in the day. Wondering if it would be a good idea to get a TT01 for racing as another local club (Ignition Raceway) has an indoor TT01 race series so could be a good chassis for both tracks.
Wow, that looked like an amazing event on a gorgeous track!!!
This shows that being around the right crowd makes all the difference. Awesome track and episode!
Thanks buddy
that track is heaven for sure
@@pratamaputra8867 absolutely, thanks for watching
Sure is, also great people at the club too

Nice track! I don't want to speak out of place, but I think you should have ordered Spam Egg Bacon Spam.
Bacon and sausage was just the ticket
lol.."Bacon and sausage, In One bap?" Stick a mars bar in there too Carl ☺ Nice commentary too Mark
Great racing 🫶🏼🫶🏼

I'd like to bet that clicking noise was a bearing. That's why after stripping the car down, no issues were found. Great video lads!

Tyre warmers? In ‘toy car’ racing?! I’m afraid it’s this kind of thing that puts me off going club racing…
