I have a bottle of rapid blue in the bag. Never tried it. Bit reluctant so waiting for a job at home that I can try it on.
Great vid as always mate. Keep it up.
Cheers Paul, to be fair this is the only time it’s failed and it must have been down to not leaving it to cure long enough :(.
Pressing just looks a right faff. Used it with a mate on one job & you were trying to accommodate the gun on every part of the pipework, the fittings are huge & look awful.
A LOT more expensive than EF & EF is a neater job.
Thanks mate for sharing, Loctite 55 every time👍👍
Cheers mate. It is a faff I’ll be honest, it gets easier as you get used to the faff but the struggles never really goes away! 😂
Nice little job no one around to make a cup of tea ☕️ or annoy you 😂
Good video as always mate
👍👍🤜
Cheers mate. Yeh they’re the best, and can get the job done so much faster 😂😂 cheers for the support Tony!
I've always been a belt and braces sort, PTFE and compound.
Some will say one or the other, but as long as the PTFE and jointing compound are suitable for water and or gas type I don't see the problem.
Scarifying pipe threads also helps. Some manafacturers
make threads pre-scarified.
Yeh they do you’re right. I think honeywell to their rad tails. Yeh ptfe is tried and tested. But I think on this occasion it was user error :( haha. Thanks mate, 🫶🏽
Nice one Dan, a lot of leg work there, I just stick to ptfe personally 👍🏻
Thanks mate, yeh ptfe is tried and tested, just takes a little longer 🫶🏽
Nice job done Dan, excellent video, don’t put yourself down, only 👍👍👍👍here!😊
Thanks Trevor!! Appreciate that matey! 🫶🏽🫶🏽
Dan, your brave going inside there on your own, might be haunted, lol😂, but, enjoyed this one to. 😃.
Thank you mate. And I dont believe in ghosts so I’ll be fine 😂😂😂 🫶🏽
I'm the same mate when it comes to pipework, I always overthink it and over-complicate it in my head 😅
😂😂😂 cheers mate. I could be because we don’t do it as often as other jobs 😂
Nice job 👍👍👍
Cheers Thomas 🫶🏽
Nice interesting video Dan nice one ❤
Thank you mate! 🫶🏽🫶🏽
Ive been doing gas plumbing and heating siince 1981 on and off, I always use ptfe always works enjoyed the vid
Cheers matey! Ptfe it’s tried and tested to be fair. So I dont knock anyone that uses it :)
Great video m8
Thank you mate 🫶🏽🫶🏽
Would hurt my head thinking of getting jaws in to press! 🤣
😂😂😂😂 always got to be thinking mate
Right.... tell us the story! Can't leave us hanging 😂
😂😂😂 I’ll tell you in in a video coming up. Probably be next month though.
@Heatking atleast it wasn't sgn or gas safe 😂
I used to use liquid blue all the time until one leaked then went back to ptfe n paste never had a problem with them
Do you know why it leaked mate? This I think was not giving it enough time to cure.
Great video pal, definitely user error 😂😂
😂😂😂 cheers Mac 🫶🏽
I recently bought the blue liquid stuff and I’ve always used either the loctite one or cimberio. Them two product are my go to. The liquid blue idk I’m scared to use… even how watery it is puts me off
To be fair this is the only time it’s failed me. And I’m putting it down to not allowing it to cure long enough. It is runny, you’re right there 😂
Yes pal only just found your channel. Great content very informative. I'm going to ask you this is it necessary to sleeve pipes going through walls or is that only for gas and does it have to be like for like? Cheers pal onwards and upwards 👍🏼
Hey mate, it’s best practice to sleeve any pipes, but mandatory on gas pipes. I taped this pipes to stop the wall from attacking the copper as it passes through. A gas pipe needs to be sleeved because if the pipe failed in the wall you don’t want the cavity filling with gas where a customer wouldn’t be able to smell the gas, if its sleeved it would end up coming back into the room and hopefully somebody with smell it. Many thanks.
I know its pricey but Loctite 577 all day long .. Great video Dan
Cheers Steve, I used to use the loctite one but you’re right it’s pricey. But if it doesn’t leak 🤦🏽♂️😂😂😂
Great job as alwaysl 💯👌👏
I called Rapid Blu up and they said you need to give it an hour to set 🤷
There is NO 🤬🤬instructions on the bottle 🙅🙅
So that's what i do now 🤓
They told me around 5-10mins, 😂 but definitely allowing a minimum of 15 from now on. Cheers Alex 🫶🏽
It's not faster than PTFE then....?
@@benc1439 that's what the moody women behind the phone told me when I called them up 🤷
Look forward to the 2k giveaway ❤😮😊
Thanks Ted! Me too!! 😂😂😂
great video. Them press fit tees are massive compared to end feed. Never used press but it seems like it has its pros, main one being it doesn't matter if there's water in the pipe but I just couldn't be bothered constantly faffing trying to get the gun in and all that. Also must be a nightmare trying to get the press fittings on with no movement hard enough with the normal ones.
It has its advantages and disadvantages you’re right mate, these are conex tees so probably the largest on the market, (just using the last of what I’ve got) end feed looks neater aswel, I’d never be one to try and convince people to press, it’s each to their own, thanks for the support Deano 🫶🏽🫶🏽
@Heatking yea think I'm going to invest in the future when it is a bit cheaper hopefully anyways thanks for the reply keep up the videos mate. I'm only an apprentice and I don't do much servicing so learn alot from your videos.
@@deano6017 thanks mate. I’m hoping to do an in depth servicing video soon, so that should help you out :)
Great video sir, how are you getting on with your makita vacuum? I saw it on the floor in one of your shots! 🤟🤟
Thank you mate, and I love the little vacuum! I’ve got a filter in it so it can be used as a wet vac too :)
Yes I mainly use mine for sucking water out of pipe/bottom of washing machines/ dishwashers!, don’t use it very often but when I need it it delivers!, keep up the videos about the no 1 trade!!! 🤟🤟
@@UKTOOLTALK thank you for the support too mate :)
Never trust liquid things on fitting at all in my opinion locktite is the best
Great job mate well done 👍🏼
Cheers mate. Do you use the loctite string?
@@Heatking yes mate 👍🏼♥️😊
Quality video as always Dan I’m always sceptical when using liquid ptf have I give it enough time to set ha.
Haha how long do you leave it out of curiosity mate? :) thanks for the support as usual maye
@@Heatking I do try remember do first as soon as unpack rad but sometimes (most) I forget ha can be 20 mins before I’m about fill up. I’m new to using it to be fair pal. Any particular brand you wouldn’t use?
@@carlbarlow8654 personally I’d only use the loctite version and this rapid blu, I’ve tried screwfixs version and it failed a few times :(. Just make sure you’re giving it 15mins to cure at least mate. This rapid blu anyway haha
@@Heatking ha will be sure to stay clear then and give at least 15 mins pal cheers.
Decent tik tok live the other night with mark mate
@@carlbarlow8654 thanks mate, and thank you for joining! Was Great to have Mr Tiff on!
From what I've heard pressit are still taking orders for the angle jaws, there was another you tuber just got his after a 7 month wait. Demand massively outstripping supply for now.
Good video as always bud. 👍 Allan Hart is the man, myth and legend all in one. His work with candlelighters is amazing.
Thanks Tom, yeh was is Cp Utility? I’m sure he said 7 months 😩, thanks for the support mate. 🫶🏽
We got ours 4 months ago
@@Heatking yeah mate that was me lol, so glad I got them though, they've been a game changer!
@@cputilitysolutions I haven’t even ordered any yet 😂😂😂

Good evening buddy 🫶🏽
Top Job Dan son
Thank you buddy as usual 🫶🏽🫶🏽
How much did you drain? Shouldn't you top up inhibitor?
Yes mate. But had serviced this boiler and checked levels a couple of weeks prior. Didn’t drain much out. :)
Nice video mate , like all the thinking you need to do behind plumbing , well I don’t like it hahah😊
Haha thanks mate. I over complicate things by over thinking 😂😂🫶🏽🫶🏽
Great vid again mate👌 I was going to use that blue stuff for some male irons on a concealed shower this week🤔 I might have to use tried and tested ptfe😂😂
Oh I’ve never used it on anything I couldn’t access again, just incase haha! Cheers Dom! 🫶🏽
You are supposed to sleeve ALL pipes passing through walls I suggest that you read the relevant standards and regulations
Are you supposed to sleeve or protect the pipes from the wall attacking them? I did tape them up to prevent it. I just didn’t sleeve the pipes with another pipe.
@@Heatking Both th BS and water regs state sleeve to protect from chemical attack and movement.
@@philiplancaster9682 fair enough. Learnt something new today then! 😂thanks.
