In this episode.. I have a some bath taps to replace, a blocked shower...(really interesting this one)
and a emergency call out to a leak through a ceiling..

I know im obviously the better trade 😂😂 but i have to hand it to plumbers, you boys do get the crap end of stick with some to places you have to work. Doing that tap, im 55 and I definitely would have needed help getting back up 😂😂😂
But your right sometimes the prep and tidy take longer than the bleeding repair. Just be grateful it wasnt laminate flooring 😂

Nice work. You're dead right that exposing the problem (and covering up your neat work with the nasty boards and carpet) takes longer than the actual fix. Well done mate👍

Had a kitchen sink to unblock today. Surprised to find thick wire wool, hair trapped inside and what not. Why do people put all this thing in the sink. Crazy.
I think with a lot of people it’s probably lack of common sense mate

top video mate, strange stuff in that waste pipe, how on earth have they got in there without force?
Btw invest in the ox polyzip cutters for waste pipes, unlike the bulldog/knipex multi use ones, you don't need any addition pressure on them so they cut themselves if you can get in there to twist it! It's saved my ass a few times

Unscrew the trap pivot it then all good if couldnt reach the nut

Great work......but did you spot or remove thst mangy bent over nail holding the other pipe in place before putting floor boards back? Regards
I didn’t mate. I did see it however. But didn’t remove it. I know they say the steel nail will rot the copper but it’s been done in houses for years so just left it be. If that makes sense.
Those taps when under a shower leak through unless you put laods of silicon round the threads

Wet vac the cap and wet vac the down pipe into floor first to try pull the blockage to you 😊 its mr24hourplumber 😉

Mental how all that stuff got in there to be fair! I went to a blocked sink the other week….. took the trap off couldn’t see anything. Went further along still couldn’t see anything blocking it…. Took another look at the trap and it was blocked solid with melted white candle wax on the u bend or the trap! Candle wax!!! I meen why! Just why!!?

And have you tried removing the chip board flooring when it’s polyurethane glued down and screwed!😵💫

Given all the tools and other aids available; it never ceases to hack me off to see basic plumbing much less best practice installations appear to be beyond the standards of too many (plumbers?).
Access and misuse of sealants are a recurring theme!
The "Old Boys" who set the standards for me and others back in the 1960's must be turning in their graves!!
Perhaps, lack of proper structured training and discipline is at the root of the problem.
No chance the way it is Government targets on green technologies will ever be met, let alone house building Numbers!!!
