Most SUVs (BMW, MB, etc..) are built in the US due to taxes, specifically something called the chicken tax .....not joking, look it up
I think being able to subscribe to extra steering angle should be a feature in Nissan Z, but in the front so that when drifters buy the car they can just subscribe to angle mod. /s

I am not a fan of the new video. The color and contrast feel different.
I love MKBHD for my phone reviews and other things, he turned me onto the OnePlus 3, LG G4, OnePlus 7 PRo and Galaxy S21 Ultra, but I sometimes see his influencer side more than an actual reviewer, such as when the 3090 came out and we got all the 8K gaming videos, and also when he does anything car related.
For car stuff, I watch Everyday Driver and Jason Camissa as well as Doug Demuro.
AMG version is probably available in the future as a DLC
release beta first and the patch it up as you go.

What I dislike the most about subscriptions is that the equipment is already in your car, so you already have perfectly functional equipment making your car heavier and therefore less efficient but you still can't use it unless you pay the subscription 🙄 That is exactly the sort of thing that makes me dislike premium brands 🙄🙄

Couldn't disagree harder on the breakpedal. I think it's much better when it's always in sync with the virtual break position. Otherwise u press the pedal and nothing happens until the physical and virtual positions match which is super scary and weird.
If i ever own a EV...i want it to make V12 sound like the one i never had 🤣

I didn't watch the videos where you guts got the new cameras... But now... HOLY CRAP! It's so smooth and crisp!!!!
A-pillar visibility is a huge safety risk especially at night. My former work truck(2010 Ford Transit) had such a huge blind spot behind the A-pillar, on at least 3 occasions I almost ran over someone I didn't see. I reported it to my company and took a picture in the parking lot demonstrating a whole Ford Explorer hiding behind it from the driver perspective.
I see car companies going the way of video game developers with MICRO-TRANSACTION!! Next car companies will start charging yearly subscriptions for things like heated seats.... The camera quality is on point. Good job fellas.

Loving the new 60fps content and it looks really well filmed! For some reason it looks too soft/out of focus though, I even compared to some older videos and the new camera looks really soft in comparison running at the same resolution. Maybe a lens or focus thing?

I feel ya on the A-pillars. I have an older MB ML320, and the A-pillars on it are so wide that if the angle is just right I can actually lose an 18-wheeler behind them.
I hate vehicles like this. I have had some where I can lose people in them and nearly cause accidents.

I work at a mercedes dealership and fucking HATE the brake pedal on these. The way MB makes the pedal move itself destroys my confidence in the brakes, and completely stresses me out. A driver's connection to his brakes is sacred, I don't know what mercedes what thinking when they decided that the brake pedal would fight you and push back when you are trying to come to a stop. This thing will become a massive safety issue, guaranteed.
Edit: Also, they really should have called this the EQR, because that's literally what it is. MB corporate is braindead.

Also, this shoudve been called EQX (I honestly thought it was).
They seem to be following the MB series sizing, s class, e class, etc... Also the designation for SUVs at MB has been GL_ but that would have sounded really strange, either way, this naming strategy doesn't seem well thought out for the EQ_ SUVs

I believe the brake pedal issues are mostly solved if you put the car in D- no regen mode and do all the braking manually. That's how I would drive this car personally. Also as a very long time fan and viewer and a Mercedes fan, it disaponts me that you guys don't like MBUX which in my experience is by far my favorite UI. I just think the menus are perfectly laid out for me.

@@Neo_LV69 It's easy to get used to and gives you full control of the regen via the brake pedal! Or, using the standard recouperation I believe also doesn't love the brake pedal, and feels much more like the engine breaking of a manual transmission or automated manual car.
MBUX is downright terrible, it feels cheap and driving a car that heavy without regen is a recipe for changing your brakes every year. Probably a 5k $/€ job. Skip the EQ MB cars is the way to go until they figure things out. If they don’t soon, well RIP MB!
Mercedes has had subscriptions for car services for years now. The only difference is that now they're applying it to hardware features and not just software. In my 2019 A Class you need to keep paying for:
- Remote (by app) door locking/unlocking
- Geofencing
- Speedfencing
- Valet Parking Minder
- Live Traffic Information
- Online Map Updates
- Parked Vehicle Locator
- Petrol Station prices
- Weather Map
The list goes on and on. You can also pay a hefty amount to get basic wired Android Auto and Car Play unlocked (and it's not even fullscreen).
At least some of that involves a server and continuous updates, which I'm not a fan of but can understand. Unlocking physical degrees of the wheels, though? They can f all the way off with that.

I have a plug-in hybrid (which has a twin-charged petrol engine: turbo and super charged) and I just wanted to say: if you do lots of short journeys and few long ones - maybe give it a try. I get perfect silence around town, and a nice(ish) engine noise when I floor it - so I feel like it's best of both worlds. These days people are down on PHEVs but I think they suit certain usage really well. Like petrol-heads who also appreciate quiet local trips. XC90 T8 (2016) w/Polestar (400hp approx, 500 ft-lbs torque/680Nm) - paid about £29k UK w/93k miles.
You could have used the dash app calculator to figure out the subscription price, but you would have to pay for the feature first.

I think people are looking at the subscriptions the wrong way.
Think of it this way….for the last however many years you would pick the options and packages that you want on your car….and if you didn’t, you were more or less stuck without being able to get them.
Now…you can opt to pay for them and “unlock” them at any point after you’ve bought the car.
I will agree that for certain things it feels wrong. And that maybe it shouldn’t be a subscription but just a one time cost to unlock the feature.
Really liked a lot of things about this car...right up until you mentioned the subscription thing. Even if I had the money, I'd go for something else just because of that. The augmented reality HUD and NAV on this thing are fantastic and, like you said, I could almost seen paying for OTA updates because roads and maps change, etc. But the rest? Nope! They can keep it. The fact that more and more companies think it's okay to do this is worrying from a car enthusiast perspective. I hope people just stop purchasing those cars until the companies realize they're pissing off their customer base with the subscription BS.

idk if the camera is getting is getting better or not the image feels soft and the colors are muted i feel like i prefer the bronco everglades video quality more . i usually prefer 30fps car videos but the 60fps is kinda nice here . eitherway keep up guys

Still don’t get why someone would spend a hundred grand or more for an EV. Beyond me why you wouldn’t want the convenience of filling up the tank in 2 mins and off you go. No charge anxiety.
