He's right the only problem is, without a structural silicone securing the film to the glass then to the framing, when that window breaks it'll all fall right in like a door mat effect since all the glass is held together it'll flex enough for you to push it right in. Normally you would want security film like this on residential glass when in an active seismic area because when in an earthquake if the glass is to break it won't fall out in pieces causing additional harm to anyone trying to get out of any specific area. Granted, most residual window framing isn't thick enough for a structural silicone because per the manufacturer you need minimum a 1/2 inch framing. If you're really worried about break-ins I'd recommend a security screen. Normally made of an aluminum framing with a stainless steel mesh that's installed on the exterior. Offers privacy and way more protection for your home 😊 #themoreyouknow
