Been to Sapa last July and had the same experience as you had at Fansipan with thick clouds around. On top of that, it was raining as well. However, Sapa looked more beautiful in rains.

Hi Alina, I’ve really enjoyed these videos of you and your dad in my home country. You’re a great daughter. I’m sure being from Saskatchewan (I’ve been to Saskatoon so I know what it’s like and how far it is from the rest of Canada), he wasn’t exposed much to international travel and other cultures. He seems to enjoy it very much and handles very well the unpredictability and sometimes craziness that come with travel. Watching you guys doing this together makes feel a little jealous actually because I always wanted to do something like this with my parents but will never get to do it. They are from a small village in the north west mountain of Vietnam. We didn’t have the means to travel when they were younger and healthy enough and now when I can afford, their poor health won’t allow it. Hope you and your dad can continue to share these wonderful moments/trips together and don’t stop sharing with all of us.

it's nice to see your father with you Alina, it was a great ride up the mountain and the gap view brings back a lot of great memories when I was flying helicopters back in the day, we had a lot of weather conditions like that in the mountain regions I flew in here on the west coast, stunning Architecture at the top as well, thank you. :)

I visited Sapa in July 2019 where it was much cooler than Hanoi but the cable car was closed for maintenance even though the views would have been spectacular at the time.
Stayed in the Sapa Centre Hotel which you went past on video.

Amazing shot of the Buddha in the mist at the top of Fansipan mountain. The cable car is not cheap but looks well worth it. Goes an amazing height. The mist adds mystery into your journey up there - while keeping the crowds away - way to go. Imagine climbing up there as the first explorers venturing into China.
Totally! You can still actually climb yourself but it takes around 2 days

Anyways, I actually found this higher point video about Vietnam fascinating; before I had always considered the highest point to be in Laos or something like that. Anyways, have the rest of your trip to be a good one!! 😁
Fansipan is the highest peak in Indochina and Thailand.
@@vanphan9318 Okay, I found definitions on Wikipedia that made it relevant to FRENCH INDOCHINA, so that would give it parts to Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. BUT, sir, could you please explain to me what gives this parts of Thailand to me??
@@davidhumphrey2593 I mean the Indochina peninsula only includes 3 countries: Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Thailand is not part of the Indochina peninsula. I mean Fansipan peak, it is the highest mountain peak in all four countries: Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand.

Great video of Sapa. We went to Sapa a few years ago before the cable car was built. To go to the top of MT Fansipan was a 2 day hike which we did not do. I am dissapointed for you that the weather was not good.
Love the sleeper bus particularly the decor so cute. We went by overnight sleeper train which was also good.
Your video has inspired us to go back and revisit.
Hope your dad has recovered from his illness and back travelling with you.
