The scenery is just beyond words. A curving, swerving, paradisal fairytale. I'm sorry you felt so rough for long stretches of time. Your determination to plough on has produced some of the finest road trip footage I have ever seen. Be proud, because I assure you, your footage has transported eyes across the globe! I truly had no idea Vietnam was this eye-poppingly dramatic, and you've given me the itch to do this loop if ever I get the chance. Thank you again, brilliant determination to complete the loop, and so great to have shared this with your father.
I'm so sorry you didn't feel well on this epic tour! Ha Giang loop is top of my bucketlist, we visited Vietnam a few years ago but back then didn't had the time to do it. Hopefully one day we can go back. Great tip with the heating, thank you!
It is definitely worth it so hope you get to do it! Make sure you leave plenty of time for getting there are back because the drive to/from Hanoi is also very tiresome.
Spectacular trip. What gorgeous views. I was holding my breath on some parts where you had this steep drop off. I enjoyed the view from the highest point and also the ribbon of the river at the bottom of the gorge. So sorry that you were sick enduring a lot of pain. You’re tough and brave to have completed this loop. My kudos to your dad doing this at 76 years old. Be well and I look forward to all your future videos.
I admire your father very much, he is old but he has conquered Ha Giang, Vietnam, especially the yogi flag, youth really cannot be ignored, but at this moment, I once watched Jasmine Ha Giang's video. and it feels great but the video of you and your dad is even better, this is definitely the motivation for me to conquer
It was a really nice experience to be able to do this with your family. Especially with your parent. I missed my dad, my dad got paralyzed when I was 6 and I spent the next 30 years helping my mom take care of him. I didn't get the experience of what it's like to be spoiled by my parents. Even though it's tough growing up and having to become an adult early, I would still wish my dad were alive, I don't mind taking care of him longer and would definitely take him to experience some of these adventures.
Yes ! the Ha Giang Loop is not for everybody . You need to be strong , in good shape , healthy and have a lot of endurance to do that ride . Bravo to your dad for completing that adventure .
Really Great video. Being ill when traveling to me feels twice as bad as being ill at home. Kudos to you and your father for persevering despite adversity. Looking forward to more of your father/daughter travels. Thanks for taking us there!😄👍
Hello Alina and Gordy, You guys were so brave to do the Ha Giang loop on a motorbike🏍🏍. Harriet and I didn't do it. Sitting on your fanny for a great length of time creates all sorts of problems for us. You go girl. To struggle through it with a cold as your dad did. We say WOW! you survived it. What pretty views along the route. And yes, you will have memories of it for years to come. Sending you lots of love❤ from Harriet, Jim and Yuki
This is a quite difficult road in Vietnam. You are very good at doing it. Riding a motorbike is very dangerous but you can see all the beautiful scenery of the mountains and forests.
Hi Elina and your Dad, 200 km ride in motocycle in treacherous terrain was such an amazing endurance. Kodu to both of you, and breath taking scenery looked so beautiful, congratulations 👏
Enjoyed the video Alina my friend. Sorry that you gotten sick on this trip but glad that you have bounced back . Looking forward your next video in Laos
I am very happy Alina that you and your dad enjoyed this trip, a little bit adventurous, indeed! Your dad is just a fantastic person! The scenery was amazing. Hope you feel better now! You and dad need some rest!;Thank you very much. I wish all the best and take care ❤❤❤
Woow!!! That was some awesome kind of traveling video on a motorbike upon such fascinating and dangerous mountain roads. I can imagine how horrible that must have been to sit on a bike as a duo-rider that far. It's so much tougher, because you have to balance your upper body only with your back. For the main rider it is much easier, because he can rest his arms on the steering and that helps to support his back a lot. I ride motorbikes for many years and I never went farther than 100km and that was tiring enough for my butt and back.. I feel so sorry for you and your Dad. Excursions like these are something you don't want to do it again unless you are running for your life. Definitely a great video.Thank you Alina.
It was a hell of a tour, right? The views are amazing. Thank you for making this video thought you were super tired. You and daddy need now a coupla days off. Take care.
I've seen several of your travel videos, and enjoyed them all very much. But this particular one, you and your dad were craaaaazy. glad you both came back safely.
Не знаю зачем я смотрю это видео , не понимая примерно половину, из того что вы говорите )) Заворажевающие пейзажи и атмосфера , вам удалось это передать . Удачи вам и вашему папе 😊
Hello Alina! 😄🙏👋🌟 I hope your having a wonderful day! This really is a fantastic super marvelous adventure video! 😁👍❤️👏📹🇻🇳🏍⛰🥇💯💫✨🌟 The Ha Giang Loop is really a long journey! Kudos to you Alina and your Dad for doing this long trip. 🙂👍🏅🏆🌟 The views of the mountain valleys and villages is absolutely breathtaking! Truly magnificent! Vietnam really is a beautiful country! Thank you so much Alina to share with us this wonderful video. You are the best and greatest world traveler adventurer ever! 😃👍👏✈️🌎📹🥇💯🏆💫🌟 I wish you Alina and your Dad a fantastic excellent amazing blessed day. 😊🙏❤️👋👍✨🌟
Hi Alina, What an adventure! Luckily You had better weather conditions this destination. Epic views and music choice. Too bad, you where sick this trip. To be honest, even before COVID I also tend to catch some viruses while traveling. Best regards, stay safe and well Ralf
Hope you are feeling better!! Your dad is a real trooper. I have a bad knee and if I sit with it in one position for more than an hour, it acts up. I can't imagine being in a situation for longer than that and not being able to stretch out my leg.
You and your dad are awesome. I can’t believe you got through that trip sick and with such spirit. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful adventure and showing the world you both are bad ass.
I drove the loop with little motorbike experience with no issues. This does not negate the inherit risks associated with the loop. You definitely need to be very careful. I had a private guide and I drove behind him at all times and took it nice and slow around turns. The key is to be confident but not over-confident. The most dangerous part of the entire loop is coming around the turns where there can be oncoming traffic so I cant stress how important it is to take it slow on the turns and stick to your lane. I thank God for his keeping me calm, safe and protected. It was the ride of a lifetime!! It was nice to relive my journey thru your vlog. I have a short cinematic video of my journal on my channel. By the way, we did not drive those narrow roads you showed in the video. I've seen them in some of the Ha Jiang Vlogs but they can be avoided!
Wonderful videography! Beautiful! I always enjoy your videos. Very informative and very interesting. The music is awesome. Thank you so very much for taking me along with your adventure.
Awesome video Alina! Definitely would never attempt such a trip driving it myself. What a beautiful area with so many spectacular views! Thank you for sharing and hope by this time that you are feeling all better!
I wish when I reach your dad’s age I have at least half of his energy and desire to see new places/do new things… I’m going to Vietnam soon, for three months, I’m not really interested in doing the Ha Giang Loop myself, but I still enjoyed watching the video. I’ve been following you on and off for a few years now, and one of the things that make me “come back for more” (videos), is that you don’t glorify travel experiences just for glorifying’s sake (if that even makes any sense in English), you don’t present a pumped up “wow” version of an experience “burying” the “buts” someone SHOULD have in mind before doing something similar. Someone could say “you tell it as it is”, which I like and appreciate. Cheers from Thessaloniki, Greece.
For people of your father's and my generation, it is difficult to think of “an adventure” of this type. You give your father a great gift… YOUNG LIFE. My respects to him, who follows you “blindly” and to you for the enormous love you have for him. Have a nice trip to both of you.
Pretty impressive trip. Some amazing scenery. I had an acquaintance who was a somewhat skilled bike rider, but not with Vietnamese traffic, and it ended up with him losing his life, and his wife injured badly but surviving. So Alina's warnings should be taken seriously. Benefit of being a RUclipsr is that even though you're not really there when you're there. You can look at your video and and see what you actually did. Nice video as always.
We recently completed the loop and agree that the 4 day is the way to go, there's so much to see I imagine the 3 day can be rushed! You got some amazing footage, well done for powering through despite the illness!
Oh wow. After all, you have come to Ha Giang to conquer the most dangerous mountain passes in the world. I like your video, like the way you talk, like the way you look up at your father with affectionate eyes. I have subscribed to your channel and hope to accompany you and your father wherever you go.👍🫶❤️
It’s minus 3 in Saskatoon, at least you are experiencing warm weather in Vietnam, vomiting in Vietnam was not a place you wanted to visit I imagine Alina, at least the scenery was great on those motorcycles. The mountains are spectacular in Vietnam, thanks for sharing ✌️❤️🇬🇧
An adventure like no other. That was absolutely amazing. Too bad you were under the weather for part of it but your video shots are awesome, the scenery is spectacular. And the food especially the "last supper" looked really apetizing. Kudos to your Dad, glad he made it ok, please look after him. A memorable trip for sure but you will especially remember it because you did it with your Dad.
Wow!!! What a fantastic video...the scenery was breath taking...sorry about your illness but thanks for fighting through it to show us...kudos to you and your dad...we love you both...great work..😊
What an adventure! . I see it's not easy but every stops are being rewarded by awesome views. You and your dad are just amazing to be able to do this 4 day Hagiang loop journey. I've been asking myself, If I can do it or not?
You should of find a sauna and steam room, worked for me last time I was in Vietnam and a bowl of pho ga. Felt better in 5 hours. Your definitely a strong Adventure don’t give up.
Enjoyed your vid and how your dad managed the tour. I get fed up with some RUclipsrs posts sometimes being self aggrandizement and self promoting or ego warrior stuff and it's good to mention great acts of kindness.
❤❤❤Awesome Alina. I haven't commented in a while but you and your videos are amazing!! Your content keepa me away from the political crap that is so depressing and just allow me to enjoy other places
Wow, what a trip! Vietnam, one of the Asian gems you never hear anything about in the news or people talk about it but it seems a magical place to go. My personal preferences are the more Nordic countries, I told you about Canada as my first bucketlist to do thing but I have Asian roots partly. So I think India will the first place I will ever visit in Asia as my far ancestors came from it. The chaos, the absolute madness etc, yes must have experienced that as well. But you give me so much inspiration with all those travels, life is to short to do it all 🤪
Awesome. I'm going to do this trip in March/April next year with 3 mates. What time of year did you go, it looks cold? And do you have a list of the names of the places you stayed or the route you took, please?
Too bad about not feeling that great while on this adventure, and it was good to hear that only your rear end was sore as sometimes when you riding on the back of a scooter and it bottoms out, you feel it right up your spine.
Usually I do but couldn’t fit a my drone bag into the small amount of space we have for all our stuff for the trip. These ones are stock shots that I leased.
as a mountain guy from BC originally, some of those mountain roads remind me of home a bit, haha. I'm stuck here in Saskatoon for now, but I can live vicariously a little, at least.
Fantastic scenery and a fantastic job of recording your trip. Seems like a good road to take your time on; especially if you are on a motor bike or scooter.
Poor Alina. The whole loop, which I’ve done twice, is paved. But your guides chose to take a slightly shorter route on unpaved material. I didn’t do that, so didn’t have to suffer. On the other hand, when I did it the second time, a year ago November, we went very high and ran into a heavy, blinding snowstorm. My Hmong friends all disappeared and I had to do it alone with little visibility until the road descended enough to get under the clouds. Although I am 74, I put 47,000 km on my motorbike over 3 years against the wishes of my local friends. :) The Vietnamese think one should hang up one’s motorbike helmet when he is about 65 and stay home. Haha, no way. By the way, Ha Giang is two syllables (Ha-Zahn is pretty close to their pronunciation). (And Laos is Lao-like the beer you drank.)
I had absolutely no experience driving a bike here in London and did the tour with an automatic: some near misses, a lot of scratches but the best activity I’ve ever done in my life - I don’t recommend that, but I DEFO RECOMMEND the experience somehow or another
Hi Alina.Did you still remember me? I suggested hang giang loop for you in last episode.Im so happy when you and your dad fulfilled this adventure.Im also sad when you were sick in this trip.Luckily, the next day your health was better.I know that, this trip is really difficult to you and your dad because the distance from ha giang downtown to your destination is so long and there are some difficult paths. But finally you and your dad finished Ha Giang trip.Im so glad.It will be a memory trip of you and your dad.If you intend to come back the VietNam country in the future.Lets go to the Hai Phong city. This is my hometown,I will take you go to the famous places of there.I wish you have a great trip in Lao.Take care ❤
Kudos to you for this video!! As an experienced biker I am fed up seeing videos where people recommend inexperienced riders to do this trip esp with zero protective gear and a cheap rental helmet. Though basic this tour company kitted you out with some protection which was great to see. I'm also impressed that, unlike so many other channels, you went on and on about how unsafe this trip is for inexperienced riders. If you crash a motorbike there's a really big chance you will end up with life changing injuries and that's on European roads with full safety gear and easy access to world class medical help. If you crash in south east Asia with no protection and a cheap helmet chances are you'll be going home on a medical flight, if you are lucky. On this road you will often be hours and hours away from even basic medical help. Buy yourself an EU certified helmet and sell it back to the tour company when leaving, you'll get one for about 100 euro. Knee and elbow pads are also a must, though basic they will offer some protection esp if not traveling at speed. Be safe, your parents don't want to have to care for you for the rest of their lives because you came off a motorbike in Vietnam and are paralised from the neck down or have a massive brain injury. Sorry for being morbid, this is so important, I hope it saves someone from a horrific accident one day.
As an experienced biker myself, I agree with you. At least do a 4hr safety training course. Even for passengers, I recommend getting a little experience riding in the back. I have had bad passengers before and they made driving the bike like hell, even after telling them how to ride in the back. Here's a little tip for in-experienced riders in the back. Ride close to the driver and hold on to them. In-experienced passengers should not hold on to the seat rails. The idea here is to keep the weight at the center of the bike and your body in sync with the driver. This would make it smoother for the driver.
I'm from Brazil and love Vietnam🇧🇷❤🇻🇳
Warmly welcome you

I am Vietnamese, lived almost half of my life but never tried to drive motor bike in Ha Giang Loop. Now I buy a bike, set plan for a trip next month !
It was a really nice experience to be able to do this with your family. Especially with your parent. Laos - kuang si waterfalls, luang prabang, jungle adventure.
Awesome video, way to push yourselves. Lots respect for you and your father,
Thank you so much!

Fantastic video! Well done, you guys and what an amazing landscape. Quite the journey! Hope that you are up to full strength health-wise, Alina.
Thank you very much!
Amazing video
Thank you!
Awesome. I'm going to do this trip in March/April next year with 3 mates. What time of year did you go, it looks cold?
And do you have a list of the names of the places you stayed or the route you took, please?
Thank you for this amazing video, Alina!!! You really did a great job😊 But don't push yourself too hard, okay😅
Thank you so much! Trying my best now to take it easy for the holidays haha
Nice to view your video, what you doing is so hazardous to your health especially with your Dad😀
Too bad about not feeling that great while on this adventure, and it was good to hear that only your rear end was sore as sometimes when you riding on the back of a scooter and it bottoms out, you feel it right up your spine.
I mean everything was sore considering I had whole body aches with the flu but I survived!
Well done alina and dad
Glad that you felt better after the trip. It was definitely not a good time to get sick or possibly allergies.
Interesting trip.
Your father is a hero ❤
Wow, what an amazing but taxing road trip. Do you shoot your own drone shots in your vlog? They are really done well.
Would be epic to do a motorbike trip in BC!
@@AlinaMcleod Yeah! Where I'm from there are lots of routes popular with motorcyclists.
Stunning video and, dang, I hope when I'm 76 I'll be as fit and able to do what your dad is doing! 🏃🕺🤸♀
Me too haha
Did a 5 day tour thru Ha Giang with my brothers, it was beautifully epic.
You’re a trooper! 💪
Cám ơn bạn cho những thước phim rất chuyên nghiệp về Hà Giang
Much love to you and your fader.🙂
Thank you for coming to Vietnam 😘
Fantastic scenery and a fantastic job of recording your trip. Seems like a good road to take your time on; especially if you are on a motor bike or scooter.
Many thanks!
Very brave of you. Glad you and your dad were safe. I wouldn't have risked life and limb for a trip like that.
We weren’t overall risking that either lol
That’s a very awesome job!❤❤
Thank you! 😊
You’re welcome!
OMG ! so chill .
Wow, you are very brave to do that!
Hello from Bangkok, wow what’s a trip !
Bạn thấy hà giang như thế nào chúc bạn an toàn trên mọi cung đường
WoWWW!!!
I had absolutely no experience driving a bike here in London and did the tour with an automatic: some near misses, a lot of scratches but the best activity I’ve ever done in my life - I don’t recommend that, but I DEFO RECOMMEND the experience somehow or another
One day i will do this. This is one of my bucket list!
Hope you do!
Thank you for doing this amazing trip.
This kind of ride will certainly fit with young people.
It is mainly 20 year olds doing this but I think older people would enjoy it as well!
Yes, we absolutely loved it! Will definitely be back to northern Vietnam another time as well :)
Loved the narrative
You gotta admit The Ha Giang Loop is something to do ❤
Laos Feb., a Mekong Cruise.
