    I don't trust people that hate/skip the ball-boy arc! It's such an important part of Hinata's journey and I (we) wouldn't have most of my(our) favorite moments later on if it wasn't for the ball boy arc

    The most important line is Ukai’s: Don’t go underestimating what it means to be a ball boy.
    People on the sidelines learn too. Hinata does a great job learning by observing.

      I also love how this is a recurring theme in the show. During the first Aoba Johsai game, Suga states that he has a better grasp of the game because he spent a majority of the first set watching it from the sidelines without letting his emotions cloud his judgement.

    One thing really strikes with me (non-anime), Washijo effectively becomes Hinata's mentor, provocating him to go to brazil and take on new challenges there WITH the cap of 2yrs. Ultimately becoming a life defining moment for Hinata (where he ends up playing in Brazil). Haikyuu is a awesome underdog story and up there with my favourite, it's a shame we wont get the developmental moments animated but I still hope

    • @mocha13
      @mocha13  7 месяцев назад +1

      Washijo is honestly such a great character, even if people may not like him. I’m really hoping for a third movie. If the Kamomedai and Mujinazaka matches are in movie 2, then all of the time skip can neatly fit into the third film. But that’s just me trying to cope. I

      I really really wish they just made 2 more season after To the Top. Anime switching to movies is really annoying to me because you cant fit in as much, but it is what it is. Hopefully we get to see the entire Nationals tournament animated and maybe some post time skip stuff at the end, who knows @@mocha13

      @@KingsCompanyy If anything, the manga gets even better after nationals. I don't think the games are as good as some of the games in seasons 1-4 but they're still great and the Brazil arc is incredible (not to mention a certain amazing character being given some much needed show time).

    I’ll always say it. Hinata was a monster at Nationals. He got way too good too fast and it was scary to see. Author had to stop him with sickness cuz he was goin to hard. I know there was a real reason he got sick because he didn’t rest well, etc. But really though Nationals Hinata was the scariest monster there. They were gonna smack Kamomedai.

    • @mocha13
      @mocha13  7 месяцев назад +5

      I’m not entirely sure if this would have been the case, although, in fairness, it’s impossible to say what would have happened. But I do think that regardless of the result, if Hinata was fit and able to play the game at 100%, the result could have gone differently, but it would have been close. The fact of the matter is, at that point, Hoshiumi was leagues better than Hinata, and no amount of “determination” from Hinata’s part would have overcome that gap.

    For me.. Sawamura Eijun’s yipps arc was more hard hitting than Hinata Shoyou’s ball boy arc…
    Cuz Hinata is a genius too..he is gifted despite what anyone may say. Hinata had to works hard so hard to bridge the gap in lack of practical experience between him and his peers.
    Sawamura has experience but what he lacks is talent.. he has potential but no talent. What he does is.. run, basic workout training and he strengthens his basics and learns from zero without any talent.
    I related to him more because of that & also because Sawamura is petty too nd jealous of his rival & isnt ashamed of that. He uses it as fuel to fire.
    Hinata however is pure.. pure instinctual embodiment of the urge to grow.
    Hinata is the character i would give as example for growth. He strives to grow and keep growing..

    I appreciate every video essay about haikyuu but I cant help to not notice that your script is almost identical with Alecsander video about hinata.

    • @mocha13
      @mocha13  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks! And yes, I was inspired by Alex’s video, which I mentioned and linked to in the description, as well as Harsh. I don’t think my script is identical, but it is quite difficult to be different to two existing essays without changing the meaning behind the character (if that makes sense lol). As in, I realised there were many similarities, but if I changed them for the sake of being different to existing essays, then that would inadvertently end up being an incorrect analysis of Hinata. One part that is the very similar (and one I wish I did differently looking back) is the part mentioning his receive against Aran. But that’s just something I’ll have to learn and improve from going forwards.

      I’ll try my best to be the first, but it depends on when the international release for the movie is. And I don’t fancy my chances of it coming out in the UK anytime soon. It’s such a great game, definitely in my top 5.
