Damn. I tried it once. My gf had no time for me and I wanted to take a break since I felt like I was asking her for more time than she could give. I thought that I'd give her some space until she had time again. The break went on for too long, the issues weren't resolved (after many attempts on my end) so I broke things off. I really wasn't trying to see anyone else or explore other options. I was going to focus more on myself and my goals while she was busy pursuing her goals.

Honestly not everyone is like that - yes there is a lot of disloyal scumbags out there but there’s also plenty of people who are good and want exactly the same as you. If you meet the right person you will naturally trust them without effort, you’ll be at complete ease and know that they won’t do it to you. You’ll never feel insecure like that at all. However, if you want that experience which is the most wonderful thing, you have to be willing to get to know people and let them in. It’s better to be alone than with the wrong person but it’s 100x better to be with the right person than be alone. People are what truly add value to your life so make sure to try and not cut yourself off from others or assume the worst about everyone or you might let an opportunity for what you deeply want pass you by which is even worse. Just remember that no matter what happens you can mend and also every experience is great for learning from and the more you progress in life the greater the reward.

Sometimes i think it’s better to ignore your fears and trust the person until they give you a reason otherwise. People can change and you can change. Act like you would want your significant other to act. Me and her have no social media and she’s 21 and I’m 24. True! I've been in an open relationship before, and even me, willing to respect the rules, I couldn't do it every single time. But the thing is my ex didn't respect them at all, but reminding me the rules from time to time! So yeah, open is open and you can't do anything about it, so if it's not for you, just don't do it.
Every partner that I had that has asked for a "break" already had someone else they wanted to try out during it, even if it was agreed that we don't see anyone else in the agreed time of a break. (Usually 1 week, 2 tops, otherwise whats the point). I'm happy to give a person space to figure out their head and life and think about whether we are working, but for all of them it was a break to see if the other guy was gonna give them a "better" life. (They didn't but thats not my problem coz I wasn't gonna be 2nd choice).
A reason I don't agree with breaks. We either over or we not. And there is no back and forth, on and off. You don't need to break up to find out if the relationship is working it clearly is not perfect or plain not working if you had to come up with a break from it which is just a fancy way of saying, " I want to break up but want you to wait on me in case the break up doesn't workout for me". My first relationship was extremely off and on because anything there was a fight or we felt uncomfortable with one another we’d immediately break it off. Then one of us would come crawling back and we’d be accepted in open arms. Taking a break solved nothing for us cause all the problems were still there. I find that there’s no point in taking a break as it’s more of an excuse to either check your options and be disloyal or to think out if you want to be in a relationship without daring to include the other person you’re with. Taking a break is often, if not always, used as a one way street so if that’s happening then most likely the entire relationship is just one way. Suffice to say, no relationship should just be one way because the whole point of one is to bring two people close together and care about one another.

After checking his ig I understood he has a gf that he never mentioned. This is very true. I am in a relationship with a woman right now and i have these thoughts sometimes. Sometimes i think it’s better to ignore your fears and trust the person until they give you a reason otherwise. People can change and you can change. Act like you would want your significant other to act. Me and her have no social media and she’s 21 and I’m 24. Then one of us would come crawling back and we’d be accepted in open arms. Taking a break solved nothing for us cause all the problems were still there. I find that there’s no point in taking a break as it’s more of an excuse to either check your options and be disloyal or to think out if you want to be in a relationship without daring to include the other person you’re with. Taking a break is often, if not always, used as a one way street so if that’s happening then most likely the entire relationship is just one way. I believe my definition of break isn't the same as theirs. When I say break, I usually mean time apart from each other while not looking for a new partner. Like we are around each other "All" the time, and we need to physically not be around each other for a while. When you oversaturate each other's time, the time spent together no longer feels as special.
I just thought that's asking for some alone time. Break sounds too harsh for that. Just my opinion.
