My aunt & uncle and cousins lived in Olney when I was a kid! I loved visiting them. I probably haven’t been there in 50 years!

I can tell you all about Olney, I lived there and grew up there my mom still lives there and lives in one of the oldest houses in town. My grandma used to run around in the same house she lives in now.
Lots of memories made there in the Big O.. including road rash scars from those damn brick roads.. Couldn't wait to turn 18 and get outta there but after having my first kiddo and realizing the city was a great place to visit, I sure wasn't gonna raise kids there, and Olney was sure the first place I ran back to.... Lol funny how things change when the child becomes a parent❤ it ain't what it used to be but it hasn't shut down like so many towns in the state!

The One Arm Dove Hunt was started by two amputees named Jack, yes both of them, and amputees from all of the world would come to hunt dove for many years tho I think they don't have it anymore, it was a big deal..
Olney, Texas! Known worldwide for their huge and thriving downtown attractions - wonderful shopping experiences at Macys, Gimbels, and even John Wannabees! The strip is hip! Olney is the birthplace of Uncle Fester as well as Polly Darden! This year's superbowl will be played at the famous Olney High School's "field of dreams!" Just follow the red brick road! Patron Saint: Teresa! What's next? Throckmorton or Jacksboro?
You guys are giving this town way too much credit. I lived there from my teens until my early 20s and I can tell you right now. This place is not a good place. It is very not home. It was meant for elderly people not young people. that’s why the buildings look the way they do, but as soon as the young people moved in, the town went to shit now I admire that you went by a lot of places that I lived and rented and owned, but the fact of the matter is this place is not meant for young people it is for people that are wanting to retireand it’s always been that way. I’ve seen so much crap in this town that I won’t ever be able to see but anyway I appreciate your video but don’t ever live there. It’s not meant for young people.
