A common scam going at the time of this message: “Hey, there is an image going around that you sent a girl a ****…. If you want to see check # shame. (A provided discord link).. I don’t want creeps on my friends list so I’m gonna block you, I don’t know if it’s real or not but still.” And they give s server saying “name and shame” or something or “catching creeps”, if you join these servers they do the old QR code scam.
I found a hack similar to the QR scanning one but basically: It starts with one of your friends telling you that you posted your private parts on a discord server and saying that they’re blocking you. You know for sure you didn’t post NSFW, but fear and guilt kicks in causing you to click on the link. You go through the same QR scanner, but not only does the hacker get into your account, but they also block all of your friends and send the exact same message to them, which causes the scam to spread like wildfire. The main tactic of this scam is gaslighting, a devious strategy that actual abusers use irl. They tell you you’ve done something very terrible to feel very guilty. Even though you know you haven’t done it, you start getting worried and questioning your sanity, which is exactly what the scammers want.
Someone who has messaged me once a long time ago got hacked and he sent me that scam invite. He wasn't in my friends list, so it doesn't just send invites to friends - it sends invites to everyone you didn't close DMs with

@@omumi-9168 Change your password again, and re-roll the 2FA so it's a new code... They would've done something by now if they could, but changing the password invalidates old tokens I was told. Just don't believe anyone on there if they come at you with some free shit or off the wall shenanigans.

Also, remove your payment methods altogether probably for 1-2 days then put your payments back, and hope that everything is back to normal!

I knew this was a scam because what discord moderator/worker would have a profile picture like that and have a username that looks like it was copied-from-someone-else-username (a username a 11 year old girl would probably use). I mean free nitro yes please, but a profile picture of an overweight man with a hat and a weird username. Uh no. After I saw that I closed the dm and joked about it to my friends. I think it also may have to do with "being in the discord community server" in which I was not in and didn't realise even existed. And another rule, never click that one malicious link.

Yeah, the real deal “exposer” servers wouldn’t actually invite you to clarify things if they “found” you doing stuff. They’re just so nasty that you really should immediately expect it to be suspicious behavior.
The game scam I got nailed with was hosted on an .io site along other indie games, it was called "Super Cave Boy" and had a whole page made up with screenshots and everything... I got messaged by someone I talk to on a server I'm on, so I thought it was legit... so I got nailed with this garbage. They were also able to get around the 2FA instantly. I honestly hope they've started making password changes require the 2FA code server side so they have a hard time changing it. Or something on the phone so when they try to change it, there's a link that will lock the account down like on Google. But I have an early supporter badge, so maybe that's why. I honestly hope someone spent big money on my account to have it, just to have Discord roll it back to before it was stolen...
Nice video and I really hope that you can make a video about the new EXPoSED scam because it's a really major scam and I and allot of my online friends have been subjected to it and sadly fell for the scam and scanned the QR code with my phone and my account was used to spam other members including my friends but I was lucky enough to be warned by a random Discord member of the EXPoSED server very quickly after joining it and I was very quick to leave the server and change my password

Luckily I was scammed before by the “I falsely reported you because someone was impersonating you” scam so I know what is and isn’t a scam now. And sadly one of my best friends got scammed by this. I thought it was a bit real but I then realized his text pattern was different so I looked up a video and I found out it WAS a scam

was it hosted on an .io indie game site? That's how I got had. The worst part was after getting it back, trying to get the language back to English from Turkish. Discord needs a "LOG OUT FROM ALL" option in the settings that would kill every token, that would really take care of a lot of these problems.
in order to stop scams completely, we need to educate Discord users about how those scams work and how they can spot and avoid them. unfortunately, we are in a society where $10 a month could be prohibitively expensive to some people, and people are greedy about free stuff. and in the longer term, improving Discord overall service that free users feel they aren't exploited.
Gosh not too long ago, I got the scam about accusing me for being a creep from a friend who said they won't talk to me ever again till I explain things, then I was blocked by them. They posted a link to a "exposing" server yet I immediately caught "um, I can't explain anything if you block me?". Asked another friend to help me and told them what happened and that friend told me that it was a scam going around. I was immediately devastated in finding out that my closest friend had been hacked. I really hate these scammers.

@@dylaneason9420 I never got kicked out of my account but all my dm's got deleted when I scanned it and all my dm's got sent the link (fortunately I was able to warn them all in time before it spread further). Changing your password though seems to fix the problem since it kicks everyone and all bots out of your account (logs out all devices and resets your token). I've also heard if you have a card on file with discord that the hacker can take money from your card when you scan it.
This just happened on a server I'm in,we we're just talking random stuff in general and then like 100 people joined the server,and they started sending scams like that on discord,we immediately told the mods on a channel that is specifically to talk to the mods,I hope no one got scammed 😔
Yeah I fell too a fake discord support manager guy, and he hacked my account, and raided my servers, and leaked all my info. Turns out it was my online friend :( he hijacked one of my accounts and I had to make a new one

Just discord. Once you change your password you should be good. Changing your password changes your token and logs out everything and everyone. You should be fine at that but to play it safe go ahead and change any other passwords you have that are the same as discord.

About the server/qr code links Here is some information me and a group of people have found: It's hosted mainly in Bangladesh and Romania. It grabs your discord token, but your discord token gets reset when you change your password, discord has said it themselves. A lot of misinformation is being spread about this to make people scared. There is about a five-minute delay the bot takes between you scanning the code and you getting hacked. It doesn't change your password nor unadd your friends as my friends account is completely fine except it sent it to everyone on their friend's list. Hope this helps.
bro this helped a lot a friend I've known sent me a link to this name & shame server because someone was pretending to be me same name and avatar and that ive done something to a person and told to join the server to explain myself that it wasnt me and I had to do a verification QR code scan luckily i left the server before i scanned the qr code because people changed their names to "leave the server!" and "the server is a scam" im not sure if my friends account got stolen but i cant check to see because they blocked me. i was really confused because i barely go online because i sleep alot but this video helped me be aware of the new scams i didnt know of

exact same thing happend to me...i didint scan the code (couldnt if i wanted to it was on my PC and i didint have my phone)...i dont think it got me but to be safe i asked the owner of the server im a Mod in to disable my privilages...i didint want this hacker having access to Mod privilages in an entire server.

changing your password changes your token, so i'm confident you're fine
They can still get your account if you fall for these things, whether you have 2FA enabled or not. So be careful. Some of these scams bypass 2FA.

I fell for the try my game scam too. I was dmed a message that said they had made a “snake game” and sent me the link. I clicked the link and downloaded it. Thank god I got my account back after 2-3 days. The scam happened on my DAMN BIRTHDAY!
was it hosted on an .io indie game site? That's how I got had. The worst part was after getting it back, trying to get the language back to English from Turkish. Discord needs a "LOG OUT FROM ALL" option in the settings that would kill every token, that would really take care of a lot of these problems.

in order to stop scams completely, we need to educate Discord users about how those scams work and how they can spot and avoid them. unfortunately, we are in a society where $10 a month could be prohibitively expensive to some people, and people are greedy about free stuff. and in the longer term, improving Discord overall service that free users feel they aren't exploited.
Gosh not too long ago, I got the scam about accusing me for being a creep from a friend who said they won't talk to me ever again till I explain things, then I was blocked by them. They posted a link to a "exposing" server yet I immediately caught "um, I can't explain anything if you block me?". Asked another friend to help me and told them what happened and that friend told me that it was a scam going around. I was immediately devastated in finding out that my closest friend had been hacked. I really hate these scammers.
i got into a server called "name and shame" and they gave me a qr code, i didnt scan it but if i joined the server will i still get hacked or am i safe? i didnt scan the qr code though
If you didn't scan the QR code, you are fine. Never stay in the server though, leave as soon as you know it's a scam.

Sadly I stupidly fell for one of these scams recently, they hijacked my steam, they have basically everything other than my email.
I fell for this today and changed my password and added 2fa immediately. Am I better off deleting the account entirely and making a new one or is it not worth it to do that
Changing your password changes your token and logs out everything and everyone.

@@stormrunnercore this happened to me and I didn’t understand what happened I scanned it and it blocked all my friends but I added them back and after 15mins I watched a vid and then changed my password twice (what does it do if you scanned I seen a thing where it kicks you out of your acc)
@@dylaneason9420 I never got kicked out of my account but all my dm's got deleted when I scanned it and all my dm's got sent the link (fortunately I was able to warn them all in time before it spread further). Changing your password though seems to fix the problem since it kicks everyone and all bots out of your account (logs out all devices and resets your token). I've also heard if you have a card on file with discord that the hacker can take money from your card when you scan it.

always remember, if you don't see a checkmark, assume it's a fake bot.
This just happened on a server I'm in,we we're just talking random stuff in general and then like 100 people joined the server,and they started sending scams like that on discord,we immediately told the mods on a channel that is specifically to talk to the mods,I hope no one got scammed 😔
Yeah I fell too a fake discord support manager guy, and he hacked my account, and raided my servers, and leaked all my info. Turns out it was my online friend :( he hijacked one of my accounts and I had to make a new one
I encountered the 2nd one today, but it was about me sending some stuff to a girl or something, I never did anything like that, I checked it on my alt account and saw that QR code thing, I knew that it was the login QR code thing so I obviously left the server after

As much as I hate discord, I have to say these are on the user. I'm surprised to see that complete lack of basic digital literacy is so spread out on a platform used primarily by gamers and young people (who often make fun of others for being incompetent with modern technology)
Maybe some of them are not always the same people. Kids are just kids and don't get born knowing everything. Scammers are just scum. I've not fallen victim to this yet, but I can sometimes feel the panic.

Just discord. Once you change your password you should be good. Changing your password changes your token and logs out everything and everyone. You should be fine at that but to play it safe go ahead and change any other passwords you have that are the same as discord.

About the server/qr code links
Here is some information me and a group of people have found:
It's hosted mainly in Bangladesh and Romania.
It grabs your discord token, but your discord token gets reset when you change your password, discord has said it themselves.
A lot of misinformation is being spread about this to make people scared.
There is about a five-minute delay the bot takes between you scanning the code and you getting hacked.
It doesn't change your password nor unadd your friends as my friends account is completely fine except it sent it to everyone on their friend's list.

bro this helped a lot a friend I've known sent me a link to this name & shame server because someone was pretending to be me same name and avatar and that ive done something to a person and told to join the server to explain myself that it wasnt me and I had to do a verification QR code scan luckily i left the server before i scanned the qr code because people changed their names to "leave the server!" and "the server is a scam" im not sure if my friends account got stolen but i cant check to see because they blocked me. i was really confused because i barely go online because i sleep alot but this video helped me be aware of the new scams i didnt know of
same thing happened to me just a few hours ago!! we talked everyday and suddenly he started his message with ‘hey uummmm’ which he would never do!! i feel bad becuz he was a really good friend of mine and he blocked me :( do u think he was hacked or something? i hope he didnt think that was really me 😞

to be safe i asked the owner of the server im a Mod in to disable my privilages...i didint want this hacker having access to Mod privilages in an entire server.

once they get somones account they go through thier friends list posing as that person and send this threat to poeple on it,then block that friend...and once they scan that code the new account gets hijacked and starts the process over again,lather rinse repeat
and given how common identity theft and blackmail already is its unfortunately a very believeable tactic...which leads to all kinds of social problems ans situations even if they dont follow the link.

I think I got sent a scam for this from one of my friends who I met a while ago and haven’t talked to in a while for a Discord Shaming server. I’m pretty sure their account got highjacked.
Please note that if you log in using the qr code it will bypass 2FA
I just fell for one of these scams luckily I kicked out the scammer and warned my friends about it

This happened to me, and I had to delete my account. :)) Whenever I logged out, they still got access. I believe you can remove the authorized app, and change your password. Also, remove your payment methods altogether probably for 1-2 days then put your payments back, and hope that everything is back to normal!
My best friend got tricked and that made me click this. Luckily, I was able to change my pass, and now I’m safe.

So.. I got the message once, I clicked claim then it leads me to some more details things ( not a website ) and I started to realize that "Could be a scam?" I got this since 1-2 months ago and my account still not have anything negative. So, what should I do? Change Password?, or Leave it?
I just got scammed yesterday for thinking I got free nitro from this giveaway bot I verified myself then it kept adding me into these so called nitro servers and its been like that since yesterday until I found out just today that I have to go to authorized apps and deactivate the bot to prevent me from joining servers another one was when an old friend of mine which I haven't talked too in so long dms me claiming that I've said some shady stuff and it's on this "exposing server" I joining then things were off in my account I logged out then logged back in got my account back using my phone number and changed password well that's pretty much my history of getting scammed 💀
