The person who told you that you got accidently reported is someone that already has been hacked. The hacker is controlling my friend's account into tricking me.

The other week, I had fallen for this scam. At the time I didn't know as I couldn't find any videos surrounding this scam, And I lost my account to a scammer for less then an hour. Discord Support was able to help me in less then an hour and I received my account back. I never knew of this, until seeing this video. I'm so glad this was talked about and addressed, this definitely needs to be talked about more as it risked my own account.
@@sigmaziz0 I just went to their discord support page, and submitted my issue. I made sure to go into complete and full detail over the issue, including screenshots of me and the scammer. In less then an hour I received my account back and it's safe. I'm not sure how I received help so quick, as my friend who originally scammed me still hasn't received their account even. I happened to be lucky with discord support I guess?
@@snoergee I didn't message discord, I went strictly through their discord support website page and explained what had happened there with all evidence and screenshots. Shortly after they contacted me back and I was able to have my account Back safely. This may not be the case for you, as I'm unaware why I was able to get them to recover my account so quickly in such a fast manner. My friend who originally got me scammed still hasn't recovered their account back, I was just lucky I guess? I'm not sure really.

A friend of mine got hacked, and the person sent the same stuff as you stated in this video though with a little bit of change, saying somebody hacked into their account and reported all of the people they had friended but they got their account back an' all, creeped me out a lot.. First thing I did was ask some questions only my friend knew and they immediately stopped replying, went to confirm whether this was a scam or not then I found this video.. I know most scams, but I haven’t heard of this one until I searched up about the situation I am in and it led me to this, this video made me grow suspicions and it was verified with other discord friends of mine and thankfully I was able to prevent them from giving my password. I unfortunately fell victim to this scam this morning. Thankfully they only got like fifty dollars out of me, and I managed to get my account back, boot them and report them, and go on a password changing spree. Still, I feel stupid for not recognizing the signs. I wish I had known about this scam sooner. Edit: There is even a subsection when you change your email for the code saying ‘Discord will NEVER ask you to change your email for any reason.’
Ah yes. I went through that too. You just reply to it and basically just ask for an actual discord team to talk to or something. They may take a while to respond but they do. Though I can't really say I expect much though. I've been waiting for about two weeks with no updates or anything. Still waiting.
I fell for this scam too on May 26th. I reported the incident immidiately and at first I got an automated response. But a week later, they looked into this and gave me a follow up. Then they reverted my account back to my original gmail. Hope you get yours back too
Fell for this a while back. Had to contact support after I found out I had my account hacked. From what I know the hacker went after 2 other people in my dms. Didn't know this has been going around for months. Thank God this video exists to warn other people about this scam.
Thanks dude, this actually might prevent my like 1 year friend getting control of my account, because he just said he "accidentally" filed a report on me because a scammer took his account and apparently gifted and bought over $640 worth of discord nitro, so he “accidentally” reported me and told me I have to apparently appeal this 10 hour pending ban to the associate professor of law. Fun fact: I linked him this video and he went offline after a few minutes LMAO😭

Yo, those guys were hella smart, man. They had so many backup plans, it was crazy. The only thing that seemed a bit sus was the whole 50 dollar thing, but by the time I realized it, they had already hacked into my account.
I wish I found this video sooner. I lost my account and I'm on a fight for my life to recover what was lost. Spread the word to everybody else so fewer people fall victim.
Update: One of my mutuals fell for it and I got a DM this evening. I blocked them immediately when they sent the copypasta stuff and the fake screenshot.

Just received something like this from a friend who I didn't talk to in like, a year. He said he had "accidentally reported me because someone else scammed him out of $550" and showed me an email screenshot and told me to "talk to support". Had a friend that I couldn’t get in contact with for a while contact me about this. At first I believed it and I got to the step where I was supposed to change my email as soon as I saw that that’s when I became suspicious and started looking into it, thanks for the video. Appreciate it.
All right. 😂 So, this literally just happened to me, they asked me for three things. 1) Where I'm from, 2) my email addy, and 3) my cell number. All of these are publicly known info already (and are on my resume). I gave the info and LITERALLY they stopped there, like, "We dropped all of the reports on your account. You're good to go." I fell for it and usually I don’t fall for scams. My account has been taken over for months despite numerous support tickets. Recently they even changed my account username to another scam support bot
I got this scam from my friend, well it was his account, he probably fell for this scam and it was a scammer on his account, and it’s just like said in the comments and the video. 12 hours to message someone with an accurate looking thing. When I heard Discord never tells you to contact a username, that’s when I knew for a fact I was getting scammed. I had to make sure I wasn’t getting scammed because this was just out of the blue. So I checked online and found this. For those who get this scam too, tell them that the accidental reporter might have to contact the user and that the reported isn’t believeable in situations like these.

I know this video was uploaded MONTHS ago now, and nobody is going to notice my comment. But, I was just affected by this. It happened once before and I didn't think it was that bad. The second time it happened, it made me feel a bit suspicious. I decided to go ahead and begin researching and then I realized what was going on quite quickly. I immediately blocked them and moved on with my day. Thank you for literally saving me from disaster.
The scam happened to my friend, luckily I acted fast and found out it was a scam, at the last minute. I didn’t send my PayPal, or anything. I instead spoke to my “friend” about it (the hacker). I fell for it because I don’t usually talk to them, I did insult them a few times, like I mocked their spelling mistakes 😭 but they blocked me in the end so I guess I’m okay. I also blocked the ‘discord staff’. Once I found out it was quite funny. But my friends helped me so if it weren’t for them, I would’ve gotten my account hacked.
I just fell for this just now, so annoying I couldn't realize it was a scam, i just emailed discord right now. A bit irritated and disappointed on myself for not knowing this was a scam.
Id recommend making a thing on discord, you can file a report for a hacked account on the official discord support site. Explain to them what happened and see what they can do. If you have Nitro or have had your account for a long time mention that. Hopefully this isn't too late!
@@Vxsya21 Ohh my bad, I don't think they can really do much with just your email. I'm unsure about phone number tho. I'd reccomend getting 2FA to make sure nothing happens if you don't have it already, just to be a bit more secure in general. Just make sure you don't change your email to anything or change your password to anything they tell you and block the scam accounts.
Remember to report the message where they say they accidentally reported you for scamming. it's a little something we can do to try to fight this together :)

Story: I'm homeschooled and this year they finally added a out of class chat thing and I got someone discord from it, we talked like 3 times before this and the only people I have on discord is them and family, so I ask who want to impersonate me and stuff. the message seems to be automatic as they didn't reply to my questions and said to message someone which I immediately told them to message me on the school chat if it's them, they been quiet since.
Two of my friends have been hacked now. I received a new one less than an hour ago but I’m not going to do anything yet because this happened with another friend a few days ago. They said they accidentally clicked on a link, got hacked and “reported all of my friends including you”. Both of the people have said this now which makes me believe that it’s also a scam but I’m not sure.
Apparently it seems like my friend fell victim and my account is still safe as I was going through the steps. I made up that I managed to make friends with that certain account I was told to look for, and I said that everything is all settled. The next day, I saw that my friend's account was hacked and I was trying to tell the dolt who stole it to give it back to her...I just hope she actually gets her account back😔

i've gotten this multiple times, they probably target accounts with nitro. its funny cause they always use the same story; that they accidentally reported your account cause your user was too similar to someone who had done really bad things against TOS. Except there's also a way to find out if your account has done that or not. On mobile: 1. Go into the "You" tab 2. Go into settings 3. Go into Privacy and Safety 4. Go into "standing". It tells you if your account is good, limited, at risk or suspended. PC/Desktop: Same gist, Settings, Privacy and Safety, Standing. It's an easy way to tell if your account is really at risk of suspension like they say it is.
This recently happened to me and I cannot be more pissed. I have tried to report the account so many times but discord kept refusing to check the account. I feel so unsafe now because I posted personal stuff I couldn't save in my phone and I'm gonna get doxxed I swear. I'm constantly scared and I don't know what to do anymore.

my advice is, if you're can't restrain yourself from fucking with them, sit them through 20 questions. After 5 questions of them realizing that you're not gonna fall for it, and you want more information, they will fuck off. And if they don't? They're hard up for something.
I fell for this. I got my account back the next day. I already gave the scammer my email when they said that creating a new account would be a crime, fraud specifically.

guys, if this happens to you, go to your email and there should be an email from discord asking you if you want to revert it. do that but make sure it’s within the 48 hours that you changed your email otherwise it won’t work. you’ll get your account back but make sure to change your password to a new one

Even sent an email to discord’s CEO and told him about it cause my actual discord friend recommended him to me. I honestly didn’t know this was originally a hack on Steam accounts until I did some research (after the fact of getting hacked) that it was going around on Steam. This has just happened to my account, from the looks of things, someone I met playing Roblox, did this scam routine on me, telling ne they think I was doing some nitro scam even though I've never touched and since I did not know about this scam routine, I fell for it

Happened to me, a friend told me “they needed help” and that they reported me on accident. Number one, reporting takes multiple steps. They don’t “accidentally” or misclick the report button. I was suspicious, but fell into the trap. I gave him my info. Just be aware. Actual discord mods have a badge. I haven’t gotten my account taken away yet and I’ve changed my password.
Literally got a message from my old friend saying "Hey [insert @ name here] I know its been awhile but can you help me with something?" I didn't really think much of it but I'm type a person that asks a LOT of questions. The only answers they gave were ones that involved them "working with me" of fixing the situation. Now it's early morning when this happened. I was at work too, so I was tired, distressed, and distracted. It was a horrible and stupid combination on my part. So I'm thinking a childhood friend is trying to help me. So going forward I greeted them then they proceeded. (Typing their response word for word here) "well so basically I've made the mistake by reporting your account instead of someone else and then the discord emailed me that you're getting banned etc... can you help me to tell discord that you're innocent and not reliable to the report?" Now this is where I ended up shooting questions like: -What do I have to do and what exactly did this other person do? - Can't you resubmitted a claim too on the correct account? - Could you send a screenshot of the email? They only answered the last one with the image of mentioned fake email and when I asked if there was a sort of countdown for this cause in my tired mind I'm freaking out and not seeing things clearly. They told me I had 12 hours to do something and that we'd both get banned if we didn't comply. Then told me to "hit me up when you have time" Thank the stars I have that best friend that's smarter than me in the mornings cause I screenshotted the entire thing and saved the image of the "email" so my buddy could see it. If it weren't for my homie I'd chatting and giving away info to this person without a second thought. They basically said "Bruh they got hacked ignore them."So I blocked them and closed DMs with them. So far nothing odd has happened but it sucks that my old friend lost their account to someone like that I hope they are able to recover it or something in the future.

The other week, I had fallen for this scam. At the time I didn't know as I couldn't find any videos surrounding this scam, And I lost my account to a scammer for less then an hour. Discord Support was able to help me in less then an hour and I received my account back. I never knew of this, until seeing this video. I'm so glad this was talked about and addressed, this definitely needs to be talked about more as it risked my own account.

@@sigmaziz0 I just went to their discord support page, and submitted my issue. I made sure to go into complete and full detail over the issue, including screenshots of me and the scammer. In less then an hour I received my account back and it's safe.
I'm not sure how I received help so quick, as my friend who originally scammed me still hasn't received their account even. I happened to be lucky with discord support I guess?
@@snoergee I didn't message discord, I went strictly through their discord support website page and explained what had happened there with all evidence and screenshots. Shortly after they contacted me back and I was able to have my account Back safely.
This may not be the case for you, as I'm unaware why I was able to get them to recover my account so quickly in such a fast manner. My friend who originally got me scammed still hasn't recovered their account back, I was just lucky I guess? I'm not sure really.

A friend of mine got hacked, and the person sent the same stuff as you stated in this video though with a little bit of change, saying somebody hacked into their account and reported all of the people they had friended but they got their account back an' all, creeped me out a lot.. First thing I did was ask some questions only my friend knew and they immediately stopped replying, went to confirm whether this was a scam or not then I found this video.. Thankfully I’ve recovered most of my discord friends and the important groups I was in, plus I’m slowly building my money back up and some of the gift cards are starting to get refunded so there’s that.

I unfortunately fell victim to this scam this morning. Thankfully they only got like fifty dollars out of me, and I managed to get my account back, boot them and report them, and go on a password changing spree.
Still, I feel stupid for not recognizing the signs. I wish I had known about this scam sooner.
Edit: There is even a subsection when you change your email for the code saying ‘Discord will NEVER ask you to change your email for any reason.’

I fell for this scam too on May 26th. I reported the incident immidiately and at first I got an automated response. But a week later, they looked into this and gave me a follow up. Then they reverted my account back to my original gmail. Hope you get yours back too
Fell for this a while back. Had to contact support after I found out I had my account hacked. From what I know the hacker went after 2 other people in my dms. Didn't know this has been going around for months. Thank God this video exists to warn other people about this scam.
Thanks dude, this actually might prevent my like 1 year friend getting control of my account, because he just said he "accidentally" filed a report on me because a scammer took his account and apparently gifted and bought over $640 worth of discord nitro, so he “accidentally” reported me and told me I have to apparently appeal this 10 hour pending ban to the associate professor of law.

Yo, those guys were hella smart, man. They had so many backup plans, it was crazy. The only thing that seemed a bit sus was the whole 50 dollar thing, but by the time I realized it, they had already hacked into my account.

Just got this scam, I literally almost changed my email. But I'm so glad I thought not to.. Also they said my discord account would be suspended in 24 hours (guessing they do this to add pressure)

All right. 😂 So, this literally just happened to me, they asked me for three things. 1) Where I'm from, 2) my email addy, and 3) my cell number. All of these are publicly known info already (and are on my resume). I gave the info and LITERALLY they stopped there, like, "We dropped all of the reports on your account. You're good to go." LIKE LMFAO OMG WTF 🤣

I fell for it and usually I don’t fall for scams. My account has been taken over for months despite numerous support tickets. Recently they even changed my account username to another scam support bot
I got this scam from my friend, well it was his account, he probably fell for this scam and it was a scammer on his account, and it’s just like said in the comments and the video. 12 hours to message someone with an accurate looking thing. When I heard Discord never tells you to contact a username, that’s when I knew for a fact I was getting scammed. I had to make sure I wasn’t getting scammed because this was just out of the blue. So I checked online and found this. For those who get this scam too, tell them that the accidental reporter might have to contact the user and that the reported isn’t believeable in situations like these.
Unfortunately, this happened to me, and I foolishly gave my account to them. Don’t fall for it!!

I know this video was uploaded MONTHS ago now, and nobody is going to notice my comment. But, I was just affected by this. It happened once before and I didn't think it was that bad. The second time it happened, it made me feel a bit suspicious. I decided to go ahead and begin researching and then I realized what was going on quite quickly. I immediately blocked them and moved on with my day. Thank you for literally saving me from disaster.
The scam happened to my friend, luckily I acted fast and found out it was a scam, at the last minute. I didn’t send my PayPal, or anything. I instead spoke to my “friend” about it (the hacker). I fell for it because I don’t usually talk to them, I did insult them a few times, like I mocked their spelling mistakes 😭 but they blocked me in the end so I guess I’m okay. I also blocked the ‘discord staff’. Once I found out it was quite funny. But my friends helped me so if it weren’t for them, I would’ve gotten my account hacked.

Id recommend making a thing on discord, you can file a report for a hacked account on the official discord support site. Explain to them what happened and see what they can do. If you have Nitro or have had your account for a long time mention that. Hopefully this isn't too late!

@@Vxsya21 Ohh my bad, I don't think they can really do much with just your email. I'm unsure about phone number tho. I'd reccomend getting 2FA to make sure nothing happens if you don't have it already, just to be a bit more secure in general. Just make sure you don't change your email to anything or change your password to anything they tell you and block the scam accounts.

Story: I'm homeschooled and this year they finally added a out of class chat thing and I got someone discord from it, we talked like 3 times before this and the only people I have on discord is them and family, so I ask who want to impersonate me and stuff. the message seems to be automatic as they didn't reply to my questions and said to message someone which I immediately told them to message me on the school chat if it's them, they been quiet since.
Two of my friends have been hacked now. I received a new one less than an hour ago but I’m not going to do anything yet because this happened with another friend a few days ago. They said they accidentally clicked on a link, got hacked and “reported all of my friends including you”. Both of the people have said this now which makes me believe that it’s also a scam but I’m not sure.
This scam attempt just happened to me, and my gut was spot on and I blocked them before I even gave them my password.
Apparently it seems like my friend fell victim and my account is still safe as I was going through the steps. I made up that I managed to make friends with that certain account I was told to look for, and I said that everything is all settled. The next day, I saw that my friend's account was hacked and I was trying to tell the dolt who stole it to give it back to her...I just hope she actually gets her account back😔

i've gotten this multiple times, they probably target accounts with nitro. its funny cause they always use the same story; that they accidentally reported your account cause your user was too similar to someone who had done really bad things against TOS. Except there's also a way to find out if your account has done that or not.
On mobile:
1. Go into the "You" tab
2. Go into settings
3. Go into Privacy and Safety
4. Go into "standing".
It tells you if your account is good, limited, at risk or suspended.
PC/Desktop:
Same gist, Settings, Privacy and Safety, Standing.
It's an easy way to tell if your account is really at risk of suspension like they say it is.

my advice is, if you're can't restrain yourself from fucking with them, sit them through 20 questions. After 5 questions of them realizing that you're not gonna fall for it, and you want more information, they will fuck off. And if they don't? They're hard up for something.

I fell for this. I got my account back the next day. I already gave the scammer my email when they said that creating a new account would be a crime, fraud specifically.
I experienced this. I was in such a bad mood that day and could not think clearly, so I lost my account entirely because I fell for it. The old account has been deleted now. I got NO help from Discord. I miss my old account. I feel so bad.

guys, if this happens to you, go to your email and there should be an email from discord asking you if you want to revert it. do that but make sure it’s within the 48 hours that you changed your email otherwise it won’t work. you’ll get your account back but make sure to change your password to a new one

I honestly didn’t know this was originally a hack on Steam accounts until I did some research (after the fact of getting hacked) that it was going around on Steam. This has just happened to my account, from the looks of things, someone I met playing Roblox, did this scam routine on me, telling ne they think I was doing some nitro scam even though I've never touched and since I did not know about this scam routine, I fell for it
This is exactly how I got scammed a two months ago. Thankfully, I got my account back successfully, but I was a bit too gullible as the guy almost manipulated me on giving him ALL of my savings.

Happened to me, a friend told me “they needed help” and that they reported me on accident. Number one, reporting takes multiple steps. They don’t “accidentally” or misclick the report button. I was suspicious, but fell into the trap. I gave him my info. Just be aware. Actual discord mods have a badge. I haven’t gotten my account taken away yet and I’ve changed my password.

Literally got a message from my old friend saying "Hey [insert @ name here] I know its been awhile but can you help me with something?"
I didn't really think much of it but I'm type a person that asks a LOT of questions. The only answers they gave were ones that involved them "working with me" of fixing the situation.
Now it's early morning when this happened. I was at work too, so I was tired, distressed, and distracted. It was a horrible and stupid combination on my part. So I'm thinking a childhood friend is trying to help me. So going forward I greeted them then they proceeded. (Typing their response word for word here)
"well so basically I've made the mistake by reporting your account instead of someone else and then the discord emailed me that you're getting banned etc... can you help me to tell discord that you're innocent and not reliable to the report?"
Now this is where I ended up shooting questions like:
-What do I have to do and what exactly did this other person do?
- Can't you resubmitted a claim too on the correct account?
- Could you send a screenshot of the email?
They only answered the last one with the image of mentioned fake email and when I asked if there was a sort of countdown for this cause in my tired mind I'm freaking out and not seeing things clearly. They told me I had 12 hours to do something and that we'd both get banned if we didn't comply. Then told me to "hit me up when you have time"
Thank the stars I have that best friend that's smarter than me in the mornings cause I screenshotted the entire thing and saved the image of the "email" so my buddy could see it. If it weren't for my homie I'd chatting and giving away info to this person without a second thought. They basically said "Bruh they got hacked ignore them."So I blocked them and closed DMs with them. So far nothing odd has happened but it sucks that my old friend lost their account to someone like that I hope they are able to recover it or something in the future.
They said "Hey I'm sorry! I encountered a situation on Discord where someone with a very similar name to your profile attempted to deceive me Instead of reporting the deceptive user, I mistakenly reported your account, I'm really sorry it was all an accident i didn't mean it."
literally the exact message i just got hit with from a guy i haven’t spoken to in a while, it was hella suspicious tho

guys it happend to me just now, but i knew somethinf was off when they said change mail. REMINDER: DISCORD NEVER EVERS ASKS YOU TO DO THIS!! NOR THE STAFF.
the person looks legit and is named "Irene Cane-Vargas" and i honestly dont trust them at all. i will update this if i got banned like they said if i didnt change it!!
