- This video is all about how there's a Discord scam where someone will tell you they "accidentally reported you" and that you need to do something to help resolve the situation. However, they are just trying to get access to your account. The Discord scam where someone claims they "accidentally reported you" is an old one that apparently also occurred on Steam. This video serves as an explainer. If someone on Discord says they "accidentally reported you" and show you a fake email from Discord admins about the supposed issue, it's a scam and is in no way legit.
So this video gets recommended to me AFTER i fall victim to it.

@@korawold9548 best just to ask Discord or look up how they do these processes. Cause ima tell u they don't need ur email or need u to change it... They already have it cause it's in the system. So like- if they're asking for ANY info... Just don't do it

Same thing just happened to me. I did message the person but I ended up blocking him and the fake account. I gave no info but I did send the video link and told him to go f himself.

I fell for that Discord scam last night. I realized it was a scam when they asked me for $300. By the time I found out it was a scam, they kicked me out of my account.

The scan sounds very believable at first glance. Seeing through scams requires not just intelligence but also knowledge about common scams, the common tactics, and normal weaknesses of human psychology.

Experienced once today.
That sounded trustable in first place, until little embarrassment due I was truly outside with someone, unable to look at my device.
It was stressing, until we start doing IRL activites, then it's alright. In aftermath the "admin" or "support" showed their impatience like "We need your faster respond here Discord user." instead of letting me do my own thing before.
So, it's a scam with signs that a normal human being doesn't do.

fell for it abt 10 days ago, sent a ticket to discord support. i’ve been waiting since forever to gain my account back, had this been a video like this sooner, i would’ve prevented myself :( thanks for warning people and making people aware of the scam

lost a f*ck ton of money due to this last night, i feel stupid for even losing that much to a scam. im normally very aware abt scams and stuff, but i had no idea this scam existed the only thing in my mind was "sh*t im going to get banned i have to do something" and like a fool i followed every order. ive never been scammed before, this absolutely sucks
Dude, it's ok. I fell for the scam too. Your not stupid, we just panicked at the moment. I was able to get my account back but I can't believe I sent 600 dollars to them. However, I cancelled transfer before they clicked accept so Im safe. But your not stupid, no one deserves to get scammed.

Thankfully I’ve recovered most of my discord friends and the important groups I was in, plus I’m slowly building my money back up and some of the gift cards are starting to get refunded so there’s that.
I just sent them over $200 today I cant sleep and Im paranoid as fuck I. I changed my passwords and everything and still feel unsafe as hell because of my stupidity. I was about to send them $1000 for fucking free but thank god my brother called me in the middle of that and I had to cancel it. It couldve been worse. I just got this from one of the user I friended with. I remember hearing this kind of scam somewhere, Searched for it and found yours. Straight up just blocked them. Thanks for the video, It really helped me out
The person who told you that you got accidently reported is someone that already has been hacked. The hacker is controlling my friend's account into tricking me.
Same! thankfully i saw this while my friends that where friends w her where in school. she sent the same thing to them! i sent this to them while they where in school. now hopefully they wont get banned. finally homeschooling is useful 😭😭

Just got this scam, I literally almost changed my email. But I'm so glad I thought not to.. Also they said my discord account would be suspended in 24 hours (guessing they do this to add pressure)
I fucking fell for it, wasn't aware of this but I reached out to the actual company to help me
I fell for it but I was able to revert my email to my original one after sending a whole paragraph with proof to Discord. I think they are aware of this scam

A friend of mine got hacked, and the person sent the same stuff as you stated in this video though with a little bit of change, saying somebody hacked into their account and reported all of the people they had friended but they got their account back an' all, creeped me out a lot.. First thing I did was ask some questions only my friend knew and they immediately stopped replying, went to confirm whether this was a scam or not then I found this video.. OMG a old friend on discord told me the same thing, I just blocked him.. but don't know what to do next
I almost fell for this, i even replied to the person but they didnt reply back, then found a bunch of stuff on the internet, including your video, about how this is a scam, ty for your video man. This scam is sneaky as hell
All right. 😂 So, this literally just happened to me, they asked me for three things. 1) Where I'm from, 2) my email addy, and 3) my cell number. All of these are publicly known info already (and are on my resume). I gave the info and LITERALLY they stopped there, like, "We dropped all of the reports on your account. You're good to go." LIKE LMFAO OMG WTF 🤣

I contacted discord to try and get my acc back. Ofc they just have the “automated response bot” which means contacting support is useless
Ah yes. I went through that too. You just reply to it and basically just ask for an actual discord team to talk to or something.
They may take a while to respond but they do.
Though I can't really say I expect much though. I've been waiting for about two weeks with no updates or anything. Still waiting.
I fell for this scam too on May 26th. I reported the incident immidiately and at first I got an automated response. But a week later, they looked into this and gave me a follow up. Then they reverted my account back to my original gmail. Hope you get yours back too
The other week, I had fallen for this scam. At the time I didn't know as I couldn't find any videos surrounding this scam, And I lost my account to a scammer for less then an hour. Discord Support was able to help me in less then an hour and I received my account back. I never knew of this, until seeing this video. I'm so glad this was talked about and addressed, this definitely needs to be talked about more as it risked my own account.

I told them and it's been hours without response.
@@sigmaziz0 I just went to their discord support page, and submitted my issue. I made sure to go into complete and full detail over the issue, including screenshots of me and the scammer. In less then an hour I received my account back and it's safe.
I'm not sure how I received help so quick, as my friend who originally scammed me still hasn't received their account even. I happened to be lucky with discord support I guess?
@@snoergee I didn't message discord, I went strictly through their discord support website page and explained what had happened there with all evidence and screenshots. Shortly after they contacted me back and I was able to have my account Back safely.
This may not be the case for you, as I'm unaware why I was able to get them to recover my account so quickly in such a fast manner. My friend who originally got me scammed still hasn't recovered their account back, I was just lucky I guess? I'm not sure really.

I unfortunately fell victim to this scam this morning. Thankfully they only got like fifty dollars out of me, and I managed to get my account back, boot them and report them, and go on a password changing spree.
Still, I feel stupid for not recognizing the signs. I wish I had known about this scam sooner.
Edit: There is even a subsection when you change your email for the code saying ‘Discord will NEVER ask you to change your email for any reason.’

A friend of a friend on discord just messaged me saying he accidentally reported me, luckily I gave him nothing and thought to look up the issue before getting in contact with the account he told me to message. He's never talked to me much before so he's probably been hacked. Thanks, this video probably just saved my account.

Update: One of my mutuals fell for it and I got a DM this evening. I blocked them immediately when they sent the copypasta stuff and the fake screenshot.

Just received something like this from a friend who I didn't talk to in like, a year. He said he had "accidentally reported me because someone else scammed him out of $550" and showed me an email screenshot and told me to "talk to support". I thought it was a scam immediately, but I wasn't so sure, thankfully I found this video! Thank you for informing me, and definitely others!

Dude, your friend who messaged you got hacked. When I got my account back, it turns out the hacker was using my account to scam people
Story: I'm homeschooled and this year they finally added a out of class chat thing and I got someone discord from it, we talked like 3 times before this and the only people I have on discord is them and family, so I ask who want to impersonate me and stuff. the message seems to be automatic as they didn't reply to my questions and said to message someone which I immediately told them to message me on the school chat if it's them, they been quiet since.
This happened today to my boyfriend, he asked for my help to try and fix it while there was a chance to. While researching I came accross this video which perfectly matched the situation my boyfriend was. Thank you for making this video.
Two of my friends have been hacked now. I received a new one less than an hour ago but I’m not going to do anything yet because this happened with another friend a few days ago. They said they accidentally clicked on a link, got hacked and “reported all of my friends including you”. Both of the people have said this now which makes me believe that it’s also a scam but I’m not sure.

The scam happened to my friend, luckily I acted fast and found out it was a scam, at the last minute. I didn’t send my PayPal, or anything. I instead spoke to my “friend” about it (the hacker). I fell for it because I don’t usually talk to them, I did insult them a few times, like I mocked their spelling mistakes 😭 but they blocked me in the end so I guess I’m okay. I also blocked the ‘discord staff’. Once I found out it was quite funny. But my friends helped me so if it weren’t for them, I would’ve gotten my account hacked.
I experienced this. I was in such a bad mood that day and could not think clearly, so I lost my account entirely because I fell for it. The old account has been deleted now. I got NO help from Discord. I miss my old account. I feel so bad.

Apparently it seems like my friend fell victim and my account is still safe as I was going through the steps. I made up that I managed to make friends with that certain account I was told to look for, and I said that everything is all settled. The next day, I saw that my friend's account was hacked and I was trying to tell the dolt who stole it to give it back to her...I just hope she actually gets her account back😔

@@Benthenewbie414 hey, I know it was like 2 months ago, but tell your friend if they remember or have a screen shot of the user who pretended to be a fake staff which was the scammer, notify discord about the user who is the scammer and pretending to be a CEO or a staff member
I got this scam from my friend, well it was his account, he probably fell for this scam and it was a scammer on his account, and it’s just like said in the comments and the video. 12 hours to message someone with an accurate looking thing. When I heard Discord never tells you to contact a username, that’s when I knew for a fact I was getting scammed. I had to make sure I wasn’t getting scammed because this was just out of the blue. So I checked online and found this. For those who get this scam too, tell them that the accidental reporter might have to contact the user and that the reported isn’t believeable in situations like these.

Remember to report the message where they say they accidentally reported you for scamming. it's a little something we can do to try to fight this together :)

I wish this video came out to me sooner. This happened to me last week and I’m hoping to get my account back with discord. Even sent an email to discord’s CEO and told him about it cause my actual discord friend recommended him to me. If and when I get my account back I’ll happily share your video right away with my friends who may have been hacked by this issue as well. Thanks in the future.

It’s alright. No worries. I’m sure you will save many more people from this scam going on now. I honestly didn’t know this was originally a hack on Steam accounts until I did some research (after the fact of getting hacked) that it was going around on Steam. But hopefully Jason will get back to me and recover my account. I sent him screenshots and everything that I could help to quicken the recovery process on his end.

The part where it asks for an email change, i was about to change it, but the second that code came, it said “Discord will NEVER ask you to change your Email for any reason” and then i started messing with the scammer and just making a fool out of him

That happened to me today, but after I report it that my account got fixed by the Official Discord Supporting Team, I'm glad that I saved it from hacker.

Happened to me just now. Luckily my dad works in IT and I have been trained not to do this stuff. I'm gonna try and get him removed from the server we share too so he can't bother anyone else.

I got to the change email thing and Discord added something to prevent it and what it is at why you changing your email there’s a new option that says Discord mod requested me and it tells you that Discord mod will never tell you to change your email
Never happened to me but i have been hacked before. It was a server that required you to “verify that you are not a bot.” For some reason, it required you to sign in. I didnt realize it at first, but the website still said captcha. I signed in, and then the next day a school friend of mine texted me saying “Bro were you hacked?” I logged onto discord, and I was able to sign in. The idiots in my account were too stupid to change the email. I went to my dms and nobody was there. I went to my blocked list, and all of my friends were there. I went to my friend DJs dms, and there was a corn server link. I unblocked my friends, deleted the messages and said that i was hacked. I logged them out of my account, it said they were in moscow.
I fell for it, luckily my bank locked down for mysterious behavior. I was freaking out the whole time and then my mother looked up “discord report scam.” I have to delete my account and make a new bank account. I have never felt more stupid in my life smh 🤦
I fell for that scam a while ago this year, just because I was so gullible and terrified, losing my account in the process. Luckilly, I immediately created a new account and I'm still trying to reconnect with my friends.
Oh, and apparently, if the money part didn't work, it requires the user to change the email and send a video of them dancing, which I stupidly did and even when I alerted the scam to my friends, I'm still reeling from the aftermath.

Idk if you've made a video about this already or not, as this video just popped up into my feed, but there's a new scam going around on discord with people pretending to be artists asking for money for commissions
Lmao, the fact that these kinds of scams exist means that there are actually people falling for it. I mean, I feel bad for them, but to be honest, if you're so gullible, it's kind of your fault. Could as well come up and say that they're a Nigerian prince who wants to give you a million dollars, but you have to give them 20K first. Anyways, if anyone here actually lost their account to this scam, I hope you'll get it back and never fall for something like this ever again. Always protect your account with 2FA to be double secure!
hey so my gf just had this scam happened to them but they told her to give the "support" a number which she had to send them. im worried that this number will let the scammer have acsess to her account

This happened to me a couple of days ago but they did more than just try to take my account, they wanted money from me as well saying that i need to pay for a database validation test so that my account won't get permanently banned and my IP blocked. Luckily I had 2FA and could still log in with my phone number even after my email got changed. They couldn't steal my account.
Happened to me, a friend told me “they needed help” and that they reported me on accident. Number one, reporting takes multiple steps. They don’t “accidentally” or misclick the report button. I was suspicious, but fell into the trap. I gave him my info. Just be aware. Actual discord mods have a badge. I haven’t gotten my account taken away yet and I’ve changed my password.
guys it happend to me just now, but i knew somethinf was off when they said change mail. REMINDER: DISCORD NEVER EVERS ASKS YOU TO DO THIS!! NOR THE STAFF.
the person looks legit and is named "Irene Cane-Vargas" and i honestly dont trust them at all. i will update this if i got banned like they said if i didnt change it!!

This happened to me too and I wasn't proud and the reason why I felt for it since I didn't want to be banned for something I didn't do. Although I was able to get it back but I chose to stay with the new one for a fresh start. Still sucks considering the money I lost but thankfully I was able to make up for the lost money.

1 way to figure out it’s a scam (I THINK) try add the account 1 time block the account and try adding the user again
I got the same message once but I replied to that person i immediately acted fast i know my account is at risk so i decided to change my password as soon as i can before it was too late i am so glad i found this and i hope i wont ever encountered one of these again
Discord support is extremely terrible, dude. I wish they we're actually good at their jobs. I got hacked on a coulple years worth of Discord info, and now I'm screwed. I'm an artist, I drew the person who scammed me as a catboy and will soon draw them pregnant.
