- During his testimony on Tuesday, Johnny Depp reflected on the beginnings of his relationship with Amber Heard.
Actor Johnny Depp is suing ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million for defamation in connection with Heard’s 2018 Washington Post op-ed, although Heard’s article did not specifically name Depp. Amber Heard is counter-suing Depp for $100 million.

Johnny Depp is a masterclass in how to handle a horrible situation like this. To be such a great actor musician and person yet still be so humble is a real rarity. I stand by him in this case and wish him the best!
That boot thing was disturbing. Notice how first it was just a nice thing she did, and then used that to gradually exert control over him, in a weird way. Narcissists do that. Just because you do a nice thing for someone doesn't mean you get to control thier actions. Having dealt with someone like that myself, I know exactly what johnny is talking about. I really hope she gets what she deserves.

It's sad because there's so many survivors (myself included) that resonate so much with Johnny that so many people will never understand, because if you tell people your story, no one believes you or just take it for heartbreak...no one understands the real damage it does unless you've been in this type of relationship before.

@Zaxby I have mixed feelings regarding your last sentence and it's because I think it's the opposite. One who has had a traumatic childhood and have had therapy etc, mindfulness, we have many ways of surviving that environment and one way COULD be to SEEK it out, though I really believe it's quite the opposite. (caps are not yelling, emphasizing important words "we" tend to use). When you have two people with mental health problems and the depth of such problems it is a tight rope and this even with getting help. So, I think we are not seeking it, in fact like Johnny being treated so "kindly and lovingly" and NEVER having that before I know it's a inner sigh of satisfaction though maybe we really don't trust it ourselves. It's the RED FLAG we ignore, he or "we" know that her reaction was off the charts now this is where the familial kicks in and that kind and loving feeling is too much to give up and so we go on for months or years on that roller coaster ride. I know now, trust that instinct but I'm 73 yrs of age, stopped drinking and the yrs of therapy is about you, that is why "how did or does that make you feel" is the main point of living life. It's a hard road (emotions from childhood through all the destructive ways some of us act out in adulthood is VERY overwhelming when one gets on the path of healing the mind body and spirit) Well it ended well, the legal part, for him though truly want him to seek and understand his anger/hurt needs to be released in a safe environment, for him to stop being the "nice suppressed child". ☮🧡

Referring to the boots, that is truly odd behavior. Seems Heard has somewhat of a psychotic approach to the keeping of routine and to be in control of a person.

So far the optics make Johnny look a lot better than Amber. He comes across as a very honest, articulate and likable guy.
Though he is an actor there are some traits of lying even the best can't hide because the body does it automatically. I saw no such traits during this video, I believe everything he has said in this clip to be the truth.

But for him, it blew his mind to have this young, beautiful woman into blues music. He thought it was so cool.

This is textbook abuser behaviour. They pull you in by seeming nice and great and no one on the outside can tell that this person is unpleasant because they are often great actors.
Then he broke the routine that she had set up, which is not acceptable for an abuser. He relaxes when she decides he can relax. Not sooner, not later. And this kind gesture shows what it really is: control.

The first red flag I remember when this relationship started was how Amber Heard stated she was a Lesbian a couple years before.. Then a couple years later, she starts dating Johnny Depp. I found that to be very odd, how a lesbian can just switch like that. She never stated she was bi. She was adamant at the time she was a lesbian.
That's not necessarily a red flag, I was in a lesbian relationship for 4 years prior to meeting my current partner who is a male. I just fell Inlove with him, I was adimant I was a lesbian before meeting him. Notice how she used the boots thing as manipulation to gain his trust and comfort at the beginning? It's not just an act of gentleness, for me it has also a sense of showing that you are able to be dominated to gain other person's attention and I'm my opinion he, which was neglected and mistreated, felt an intense feeling of care and emotions which brought him to the point to put all the trust in her. I am in the opinion this this beside many other acts gained his attention until she felt comfortable to show her narcissistic and violent face. I think that we all should arise our awareness when a person is too gentle with us, in an unreal way. Or... at last me who suffered of trauma too I try to keep distance from people that show too much kindness from the first moments.

That's a valid defense mechanism and response to past trauma but in doing so you close yourself off to people who actually are genuinely kind. I promise you those people exist. Sometimes incredible kindness really is kindness and not a manipulation tactic. Sad that some ppl like AH spoil this and make some of us look upon kindness with suspicion.
She was trying to foster dependancy on her. If she did these things under the guise of a dutiful wife, she could also revoke them during times of conflict. By taking his boots off himself he demonstrated his independance and his lack of need for her. It's very manipulative. Also it's quite destructive to hand someone an alcoholic drink every time someone comes home. It's chemical warfare. Alcohol can be very addicitive and soon he would have been associating her with the drink. Who knows, maybe she was trying to play out the image of a happy marriage she had in her head, which is a much more innocent interpretation but since she has shown herself to be quite a manipulater, for example, the nail polish on the rag or the incident with the door, it seems that her actions here may be more in line with the former perspective. Obviously I'm assuming JD's testimonies to be reliable here.
Heard did NOT what Johnny to get into the practice of taking his own shoes off or doing much on his own because she "being a Narcissist" was trying to gain control over him by getting Johnny to depend on HER. She was working on him by trying to mold him into a dependent man who needs her at all costs. She was working on getting his money.
