What really makes this series for me is that you guys are helping family businesses thrive. Like people will go to these places just to stay there. And the owner can charge a little extra for their new specialty cabins 😍
As a Hawaiian I really appreciated the acknowledgement of native land ❤️ it makes a difference when the people you support also support people like you ❤️❤️
it's a lot of work to keep clean and dust free though. While I don’t mean to discredit the owners of these cabins, do a quick google search on how clean hotel rooms really are. I’m sure everyone would love to think that their hotel is spotless when you arrive for your holiday, it often isn’t the case, especially when it comes to kitchenware. Good of y’all to be optimistic about the “deep clean between guests” though.
@@missdelaney When you give the place a clean every few days to weeks in between guests I don't think that's as much of an issue as it is for a 'normal' kitchen
@@missdelaney you have to clean thoroughly between guest anyways, so it wouldn't be that big of an issue as in private homes where there is way more stuff that gets forgotten in the back of the cupboard...
@sparklythings21 I kinda agree! I don’t like all the stock music and I miss the authenticity of their old style. I appreciate they’re trying something new but it’s not really my jam. OG subscriber here and long time fan so nothing but
The camera work and editing was on a whole new level you guys! Also it was interesting seeing you handle a bit of stress and a slump. I think it would be interesting to hear your honest thoughts on frustrating moments during projects! I think renovation can be super frustrating and stressful too and I know my partner and I can get a bit moody with each other when we're in the thick of things. I'd love hearing your thoughts on how you deal with frustration during projects and in working together, and how you go about keeping your eyes on the prize. Great work you guys!
As an Indigenous person, I just want to say thank you for that brief land acknowledgment. Love this and I hope this helps more individuals think about the Indigenous people, their lands, and current Indigenous affairs and news.
It's crazy how everytime I start watching one of this episodes I think: "This will never work!" And than it always turns out adorable and cool and amazing!
The team always do a great job with the B-Roll, the angles, the editing, the styling but the entire production in the last few weeks has just been a step beyond! Keep up the good work to everyone behind the scenes you're doing amazing!
At first I was a little hesitant about the 50s theme, but you nailed it! Also, the outfits matching the theme were so pretty. Becky, I think red might be your color. You looked so good!
Does the van get a new sticker/magnet for every place you and the crew make over ?! Like a stamp on passport ? Didn’t notice that until now - I LOVE it !
can we all PLEASE take a second to appreciate the editing at 9:24!!!!! (Edit: this entire video is a cinematic masterpeace! From the shots to the sound track, im baffled!!! It looks amazing guys! well done!)
Yes, but also no because Cypress (its a tree not a bush) don't have massive roots like for example chestnut or smth, so they will not ruin the porch or temples of the cottage.
😉 Don't think it will be an issue. These evergreens are commonly planted along fences and decks. They will create a natural barrier〰️ giving any visitors🫂 a much needed sense of privacy. 🌿They won't expand too much, but they will grow quite tall. They are more of a bush vs tree. 😎They're pretty hardy plants, drought-tolerant 💦, and fairly maintenance free. Although once it reaches the desired height, it's a good idea to keep 'em trimmed on top. 💚 Bridget from Cali ☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
Kelsey says "you'll only know what this for if you're from a certain" geographic spot: white plastic pour jug for BAGS OF MILK. I've read that half of Canadian milk consumers get their milk in plastic sacks.
I’ve been going back and watching some of the old episodes. These are so fun upgrade my stay. I’ve also been enjoying watching Rachel’s upgrading different items. I love how your business continues to grow and you’ve added new staff.
Actually, a fun tip I learned from one of my plant groups: apparently, if you dig a square hole for trees when you plant them, the gain height a little faster because the roots have more of the loose soil to spread into. :D

Great makeover! Love it! Brought back so many memories, especially the green bench at the dining table. My family had one of those in our house and my mom did canning on it, on our back porch! She made the best home made ketchup from the tomatoes in our garden! 😀💓

Absolutely shredding. Whoever edits and films this needs a medal
Literally was thinking the same thing!!
I think its because they get extra funds from Bell Media for producing this series
So funny when Becky was shopping and Kelsey struggled with the light!
Fun fact! They always put who edits the video in their description box. :)
Jake Doforno
The quality of this series is NEXT LEVEL!!! Netflix who?
💯
Right!? I'm here for it!
TSG content has just been unbelievable lately. HGTV could never.
Hgtv would tear the place down, spend 10000000000 dollars and called a diy
They should have a show on HGTV
I WAS THINKING THIS like i would love for TSG to get their own show but i don’t know if it could ever be as good as as they already do it!! Lol
So good! I hope they can get captions accessible soon so I can fully enjoy their content.
Netflix, like Helooo 👀
I really appreciate that y’all are acknowledging the indigenous people of the land at the start of these!
The most genius editing when Becky was thrifting and Kelsey was trying to do the light lmaoooo
Yes, loved it, too!
Kelsey about to go full hulk mode, and Becky just skipping around her happy place 😁
I was laughing my ass off. So funny. Great editing job!
Kelsey is ME in this video. Everything she tries gives her trouble 😩😩
Yessss😂😂😂 i laughed so much!
Kelsey looking like a modern Dorothy and then saying “we’re not in Toronto anymore.” 😂

Agreed!!
I agree. And just a random language note, they aren’t called “tribes” in Canada. They are “nations” or “bands”.

Becky’s having a lovely, fun shopping trip while Kelsey is having a mini mental break down 🤣
she had a total of three mental breakdowns in this episode 😂

Becky’s red outfit looks so amazing on her. The hat and halter neck, the belt, the pants. I loveeee.

I never comment on your videos, but just had to stop by to say thanks for the land acknowledgements. Love your work!
I was Born in the 50's, loved the space, and especially the blue "Jetsons" coffee table .
Those bushes are planted waaayyyyyy to close to the porch!

They should have kept them in the pots
Yes, but also no because Cypress (its a tree not a bush) don't have massive roots like for example chestnut or smth, so they will not ruin the porch or temples of the cottage.
I was yelling “oh hell no!” A simple fence would’ve surfficed without the waiting to have privacy and all I thought was MOSQUITOES! Lol
I feel like it just half the view possible from the deck. But maybe the angles are actually a bit different
I really love and appreciate that you guys take the time to acknowledge who’s land you are on!!
Me waiting for Kelsey to lose her absolute shit the entire episode
OMG The dinette chairs are identical to the ones we had growing up in the early 60's. Love them. Great job!
Oh no! The trees 🌲 are planted too close to the porch. As they grow, they’ll impede on the structure.
Impede on the structure is a very nice way to put "will completely destroy" 😂 easy to move thankfully 😆

Yeah, you really need to give yourself at least a foot to 2 feet from any foundation.
Maybe they should keep a contractor/gardner/generalist on payroll.
Do not put the dirt up around the trunk as it will smother the cyprus. Leave a little trench. Good luck.
