We got asked to makeover these newly renovated vacation rental spaces for Kelsey's partner's mom, but we only had 5 days to complete it & we decided to make it a bit of friendly competition!

austin is so funny and i'm glad he's appearing a little more often in videos lately!! i saw another comment mention another version of boys vs girls but someone said the boys might have a tough time with the details, maybe instead of two completely different teams have the guys start a unit and then have the girls come in in the second half to flesh out the ideas and finish the space?

Honestly I'm impressed that ANYONE can make a video like this seem fun when the reality is that they're spending 4 (5?) days working in a tiny space that's sweltering hot with a camera pointed at them and a deadline looming the whole time. If I were in that position I guarantee I'd seem like a grumpy asshole

@@bumblebee_ms I think he's just uncomfortable being on camera and also irritated at having to work in 93°F temperature (I know I would be!). As someone who's also been studying psychology for about 7 years, I find it interesting that you would judge him so definitively (and somewhat harshly) after only seeing not even 2 hours worth of select clips of his interactions in these 2 videos. I think it's important (as psychologists and as people not actually in the relationship) to understand that people are more complicated than what they show on social media and are much more nuanced than just a few choice traits summed up from a quick glance.

It seems like you're biasing a preference for a bubbly, "warm and beautiful" appearance that you perceive in Kelsey. You shouldn't go commenting about an actual person and their relationship like this and using untrained psychology research as a defense for it.

Team Kelliot was by far the most resourceful. With limited space they were intentional with their design choices and the result is only good vibes. Blue tiling, blinds converted to wall covering, that round marble tabletop, the trim painted in the most perfect random pale blue color, the cute guest book, and even down to the hardware they thought of everything! This tropical paradise is a winner in my opinion
I just want to say I'm happy to see some OG TSG content again, it's been too long since we saw the both of you making videos together!

When I first saw Becky painting a room a dark red wearing light linen pants, I thought that is a level of DIY I will never reach. The speck on her pants was oddly reassuring.
also i love how much becky and austin keep calling each other cute and beautiful and just generally complimenting each other. so lovely.

Team Baustin! I love how everything turned out, I was originally like "ugh western themed" but like Becky said, the goal was to make it not too cringy LOL. It turned out amazing. 10/10
I must admit, during the whole adventure I was wayyyy more invested in Kelliot, It just seemed way more sophisticated and pretty - I love Western themes though, so I was curious to see how Beckstin would come together. I was so shocked at the reveal!!! I think the gallery wall really pulled the Western suite together, that mirror is everything. I also agree with the verdict of one being more of a party suite and the other more of a relaxation suite. I feel like the Kelliot/french maximalism suite is like, a getaway? Amazing work.
I’m a senior lady from the Smoky Mtns in Western NC. I am so inspired to see you young people create such delightful spaces using vintage and modern pieces. There is so little to view in the media that is happy, productive and wholesome. Watching these 2 couples work together is so motivating. Please continue your creativity and show others of your generation the value of reusable items rather than all the inferior decor items from China and cheap websites. There is a great abundance of hi quality items discarded that need new homes to shine again. You all have terrific talent and are great role models to everyone designing their living spaces.

I can't pick a favorite, they both turned out fantastic! I love the shelf Elliot picked for the dishes, It's so fancy and goes so well. Austin is so handy and clever. Both couples knocked it out of the park. 2 great episodes and 2 great couples. 👏👏👍👍

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely ADORE the Sorry Girls and hope they continue to bless us with content for a long time... With that said, I couldn't help thinking about what a fantastic team Baustin made and I was seeing shades of the Mr. Kate duo through their partnership in design, construction and problem solving. I really think the two could create a fun series together, Austin has a great spirit and sense of humor that compliments Becky's personality so well. I enjoy seeing team Kelliott as well, they feel like what they are- a couple authentically hashing out renovation with the added dynamic of one of the parties having a career in it. It makes for some fun, relatable content. If I'm being honest- and I could be way wrong- I just get the impression that Elliott might not be as on board with making it a full time job and a whole entire career, which is just fine! We will happily take whatever the two want to deliver! Great work, everyone! Loved this challenge!

@@sarahward9723 Same. I just felt bad singling out Baustin, as if to say I didn't enjoy watching Belliott, because I did, but I'm not sure that Elliott necessarily enjoyed himself as much. On the other hand it seemed like Austin genuinely had a good time and got really into the process.
I agree with thr Elliott comment. He just seemed like he didn't want to be there the whole time and was not fun to watch.

Country/western is so not my vibes so it's hard to pick a favorite because Becky and Austin killed it! But I personally would rather stay in the other one for purely aesthetic reasons! Both teams did amazing though!
Same. I’m not big on the western theme but they did the best job! Kelsey and Elliot's space is great but I don't get tropical vibes as much. It's just a mismatch of stuff and a lot of plants.

I'm going to go with the Baustin one even though both are great. I was not a fan of the fridge change and that corner shelf thing in Kelsey's one but I think she needs a round of applause for compromising and letting Elliot do his thing.
The Western theme was so difficult and Baustin killed it! I was a bit nervous about the red, but with the blanket it ties together really nicely. Kelliot also did a great job!

I would stay in the Kelliot cabin! I'm so glad Elliot fought for the corner shelf for the dishes. It's so pretty and I love all the tropical touches. But they were both amazing. I'm just not into country but I do love some of the touches in the Baustin cabin like the little side table, the saloon mirror and the little ceiling light above the bed.

His barn is a treasure trove from him gathering things from homes he's renovated or people just giving him things, or him finding things that could be useful at some point in the future.
My grandfather was similar, a collector of sorts. Mostly found art objects though and bricks for his backyard

Kelliot for sure! For a 5 day makeover, you would have never expected tiling to be part of it. And the way they pull in the blues made it so cohesive, definitely hit the mark with her mood board inspo. At first thought the fridge being switched out was a wrong move because the white did look better, but the standing shelf really added something to it.

I think both of them are so cool, I love the gallery wall in Becky and Austin’s room with the different shapes and the mirror is amazing, and I love using the blinds on the wall in Kelsey and Elliots’s space I think it adds a lot

I was so happy to see the reveal of the cabins today instead of having to wait until Tuesday! Yay!! Both cabins are delightful and y'all did a fabulous job! However, my choice, were I to go stay, would be The Southside Saloon. Probably as much because it's a one-bedroom, therefore a little more space, than because of the decor. But the decor is great! ♥ Kelsey and Elliott were limited by the small space and the big bed, but they did a wonderful job of making the space cozy and inviting. ♥ So...could be a tie, really.

Y’all did such an amazing job. Two completely different vibes for sure, but both beautiful in its own way. The western theme suite was a shocker cause somehow you managed to make it look so chic! I’ve grown up with so many western themed decor and this was just the right touch without looking too tacky. Honestly, y’all are so talented! I love this entire journey!

I love the bed in the tropical room, and the blue Kelsey picked out was gorgeous. It made me want to try painting my baseboards. And huge points for taking on a tile project in such a short makeover. However, I think Becky's was a more cohesive space - every single thing felt like it fit.
You both did sooo good! Both places just look absolutely incredible. Personally Kelsey's place is more of my vibe cause it's more chill and I love all the blues she used. BUT Becky's place was just *chef's kiss*. LOVE the gallery wall, the shelves, that small bedside table was so perfect, and that barrel table! Absolutely in love with both these episodes!! I think Elliot's mom will definitely appreciate more content like this because both units have a completely different feel to it. It creates a unique selling point for her because she can cater to different types of guest's. In love with both the makeovers!!

Really? I disagree. I think he was quite arrogant towards Kelsey, I don't like his vibe at all. I think Kelsey can do better, he's a narc. I truly feel sorry for Kelsey, it was so hard to watch her struggle with such an emotionally unavailable partner. I think she craves what Becky has with Austin and is trying to make it work with Elliot. It won't.
