    This tutorial is by far the most superior that I have found. Mavis Everett has got it all together - the use of voice-over, how to break it down for the true-noob, and her list of songs by BPM is genius.

    • @larsbaer3508
      @larsbaer3508 3 года назад +1

      Disagree ... For True noobs you Need songs that are easy to count... Especially at the beginning of Her list , the beat starts late, Drops out often, and has very complex rythm, so hard to find the beat for beginners, and hard to keep... There are much better slow songs for True noobs... But i like to See her Dance ...

    • @NOT_NativeEN_Speaker
      @NOT_NativeEN_Speaker 2 года назад

      @@larsbaer3508 Just skip first 4 or 5 and u will be OK. In my case (pure noob :) that 6th "SBTRKT - Wildfire" worked seamlessly for me (I was simply playing 1by1, until good beat happened right at the beginning of the song :)

    After watching I don't know how many tutorials, I find yours to be outstanding both in the style of instruction and in the way it is put together. In particular, I find the approach of a voice over instead of trying to talk your way through the steps very effective. More so to me than any other tutorial I have watched. Today was day 1 and thanks to your efforts, I'm thinking 55 isn't to late to start learning.
    The other thing that occurred to me is that I don't know anything about creating/editing videos but I do know something of recognizing innate talent, which you have harnessed. If I were recruiting, this video (and part 2) would sell me on your ability to create an attainable finished tutorial that crosses generational barriers. Very well done indeed.

  • @Luaxon
    @Luaxon 6 лет назад +163

    I like that you've included sign language instead of relying on closed captions. And, I like that you've pinpointed the main issue in shuffling--it's not that the moves are difficult to do, the hard part is *getting up to speed*. Most popular, catchy, and hype music are above 90 BPM, so people just want to skip to that speed and end up failing. 😂
    I hope to use your tutorial and playlist to gradually improve my shuffling, I tried dancing to A Tribe Called Quest - Scenario and I failed miserably. 😣

    Absolutely fantastic video! Love the no words, signing, love it! Good solid, accurate, easy to follow, step by step methodology! I'm a 'v.old school dude now! I did 'shuffle dance' way before I guess it was ever Called it and I guess I wasn't the only one!...The constant running style was a forté of mine with innumerable never seen before or again moves, jinx's, dives, cuts, operations, variations, styles, gestures, poses and signature moves... all flying, walking, running, jitterbugging, elaborating, extemporising naturally and absolutely ecstatically through it....fast forward several DECADES, I still love the art of movement, still love dance, got two kids who love music and 'pop video's' and I start seeing these 'shuffle dance video's'! I never even new it was 'shuffle dance' or rather what existed has become Called it...like 'Parcour-so called free-running'; it always existed, I did it too, but it didn't have a name! Anyway, I'm gonna show my kids these 'shuffle dance ' things and if they don't get it intuitively like I found it in myself in the music naturally, then 'by jiminy' I'm gonna get them to follow your wicked-cool-funky-sleek and super fine tuned funny, cheeky, no words-non-verbal signing feast- super coolio accurate method! Massive thanks and super- dooper good wishes to you!

    Thank God I found this video, I’ve been learning how to shuffle because of quarantine and I keep finding myself cannot shuffle on high speeds. Your training method is great because before I watched this video I can only go upto 92bpm, after watching and trying the method, I can now go upto a freaking 120bpm omg!!

    thanks for the video, I have two days writhing in hysterics that I get some kind of slow clumsy garbage instead of dance. in all the lessons, they move from slow motion to fast, which made me think that I was just a log. This video gave me the strength to continue.
