      jammersss Thank you so much,The simplest answer about karma is that what ever good or bad actions we performed ( if it is 1 day ago or even 10 years ago or even previous birth) will reflect in our life as part of karma.. Hinduism is equal to mathematics & science, every thing we can apply by science and mathematics

    I like when Pavitra stated, "Different paths, one truth." There are so many similarities between the different religions. It's all about one's perspective it seems. This video was enlightening.

  • @elaschannel942
    @elaschannel942 10 лет назад +48

    Something I feel like they didn't address in the video was that in Hinduism, it is believed that all religions/faiths are all paths to the same god. We can take it all different ways but saying one religion is wrong or "your god is wrong, mine is right" has no morning because it is all the same. No matter how we do it, and what stories that we believe in. Because they all COULD have happened.

      I like this type of religion that isn‘t adamant about being the one true religion. But this probably stems from the many sects inside Hinduism and them getting along with each other, whereas in Christianity being from different denominations was part of war. I grew up as a Christian, but I am of Sri-Lankan Tamil heritage, so my parents grew up Hindu. It‘s a weird and exciting feeling to learn about my ancestors‘ culture.

    I joined the Hare Krishna hindu group last summer, and it was one heck of an adventure! They had festivals, I enjoyed their cultural foods, I love their beautiful singing / chanting, they gave me tours of the local NYC ISKCON temples / ashrams, I also love going to Harinam in Union Square. I would love if you do a "Have a Little Faith" video about the Hare Krishnas.

    i'm a hindu too (same pinch-ppl in video)! this was a really awesome discussion. Generally i get annoyed because when discussing Hinduism people don't mention that there is no one ideology and no one way in it and that everyone can practice it in their own way. so this was just hitting all the right spots.

    This is brilliant, I just watched the file Gandhi which I loved, so I decided to come on here to find out a little more about Hinduism, you have shown it in a modern and understandable way - I'm English and believe the answer is for all religions to love and respect each other through peace and love, thank you for helping in this quest

    • @pavitrakrishnamani3678

      +marilyn lewis Hinduism is a personal religion, in which there are several texts. What I particularly love about it is that those texts are like folks in your life that you can accept or reject as mentors. As such, the religion encourages pluralism and comfort with the unknown. I'm glad that this video helped you find out a bit more about Hinduism and I totally agree - every religion can deliver messages of love and peace.

    I'm so disappointed that I didn't find this show earlier. As someone who has her own set of beliefs, seeing what people who follow a specific religion do and really learning about the core beliefs is very enlightening. Also as a comedian, I'm consistently sitting here tossing my head back laughing. Zach, "She's really making the most of her life, even though she's getting another one!" was such a great positive joke.

    Gosh, every time I watch these videos, I am just overwhelmed by Zach's genuine open-mindedness and his desire to share knowledge to other people who are equally curious as him. Sadly, people find the absurd need to declare the opposite views and bash everything that Zach is trying to depict. He already did a video on Atheism, so if you guys can't seem to get your arguments straight, follow the thread to there. Otherwise, why do you feel the need to beat down the positive concepts and ideas that are coming through these channels and use the comment box to bicker back and forth? Can't people just RESPECT the videos made for their enlightening worth and let it be?

    Hinduism is not a religion!! it is just a way of leading life , where it gives absolute freedom of choice to the one who follow its guidelines

    • @Eesen

      But... Hinduism is a religion.

    • @JAYANTHBUMAIYYA
      @JAYANTHBUMAIYYA 10 лет назад +3

      ***** Aprarently not.... Its set of structured rules you can follow... There is no compulsion , it gives you loads of freedom

    • @Eesen
      @Eesen 10 лет назад +1

      A religion is defined as "a particular system of faith and worship" and involves "the belief in a superhuman controlling power". Hinduism has several rituals and modes of worship regardless of the freedom it may give you. And there are several Gods - so no problem there.

    • @JAYANTHBUMAIYYA
      @JAYANTHBUMAIYYA 10 лет назад +3

      ***** i know what you mean, and its difficult to put this is perspective, ill try, See India was not the way it is today, it was a large un-unified country.... most of their teachings were encrypted in vedas , Geeta etc... The way it was distributed was from one person to another , generation to generation were not by books but person to person orally ... Thus the way the meaning was interpreted was also different in different places and group, just imagine thousand and thousand of years hundreds of generations they will add , delete material from the source.. So people started seeing God in the closest thing they could relate, Example a tiny village :- a group of people find a rock/pool/mountain/tree to be interesting they would put their faith in it and call it a form of a God... imagine so many villages, towns and city cross that landscape , thus you will find so many Gods...where infact fundamentally they are the same....
      When you read the ancient scripts written by sages its natural meaning will sound philosophical , but did you know there is a poem that will give you PI VALUE in RIGVEDA when you apply certain encryption mentho(youtube it)?? and so many constants! and many more scientific observation! the issue is we are not able to encryt those data and blinding reading them as songs and lores!!
      So yes even though it looks like its a religion its not...

    • @Relaxingtime4me
      @Relaxingtime4me 9 лет назад

      ***** "a particular system of faith and worship" is not at all Hinduism. There is no particular system of faith and worship. There are different paths to seek the spiritual/truth. Hinduism is not even an -ism. It is a word given by outsiders to accumulate all different paths into one which is so wrong, but they did it for their convenience to group people living beyond Indu civilization. You can't accumulate all these different paths to lead a life as a one set of rules aka "religion". Westerners find it difficult to understand Hinduism because they view it through their perceived version of religion which will not help them to learn about Hinduism at all.

    In Hinduism it's believed that everyone cant attain oneness wid god in one birth so there comes the whole concept of rebirth . if your karma are fairly fine but yet not upto the level u are reborn into another body which is more leaned towards god or else if your karmas are not good u are born into a lower organism and if your karmas are bad u are rewarded wid eternal hell . Basically SNAKE AND LADDER CONCEPT
    THIS VIDEO WAS REALLY GOOD

    • @nitinshankara7769
      @nitinshankara7769 9 лет назад +1

      Khushi Parekh Sorry your idea of karma is wrong. It is not that if you do bad karma you will suffer in next life. What if there is no concept of reincarnation? the correct meaning is that your bad karma not only affect you in present life but it will affect your future generation. what you are today not only depend on you but also many things/ persons, before you are born(can be called as past life). because of some ones good karma inventing computer and internet we are able to share our ideas.

    • @khushiparekh3819
      @khushiparekh3819 9 лет назад

      Nitin Shankara sorry but its wrong to say that you bad karmas affect ur future generation . When each person is born only genetic traits are herited or passed on , not the aquired experience and result of bad or good doings. And if u ask the question if there is no concept of reincarnation then if u believe in hinduism then it is an integral part of the scriptures . The only thing i mean to say is based on wat u do in lifetime decides ur afterlife. And if u really study or research abt it , It Really makes soo much of sense

    • @nitinshankara7769
      @nitinshankara7769 9 лет назад +1

      Khushi Parekh I did not mention anything about genetics. What i meant was, good or bad things you do not only affect you but also other people even after you die ( this can be afterlife )

    • @rational0
      @rational0 9 лет назад +1

      I agree with Nitin Shankara But you have freedom in hinduism to think and figure things out yourself, what ever conclusion you arrive at, is your personal choice. There are no central doctrines to follow in hinduism. Only must are
      AHINSHA (nonviolence, pluralism),
      DHARMA (follow laws that make you good, makes society peaceful hapoy progressive for all) and
      VEDA (reveal knowledge by scientific discovery).

    • @rational0
      @rational0 9 лет назад

      And karma simply means deeds/behavior. Karma should be according to Dharma: rules rationalized as right &wrong harmful behavior.
      And yes, it is common sense that our Karma (deeds) may effect future generations, like we pollute environment and future generation will suffer for our deeds. And we create computers and future generations will benefit from it.

    You should do one on native american spirituality. ...I think that would be awesome. I also want to thank you for this channel , with all the music and other videos I can always check out soul pancake and feel like I auctually learned something after watching one. Keep on doing what ya guys do, it makes a difference. .at least for me. Take care

    Great series, Zach! You should do one on Unitarian Universalism, it's a great American religion!
