    Thanks for the recommendations. I will be adding a 2 inch lift to my 2013 Ram SLT

    Beautiful truck, add ons which make sense. Personally I think that the trifold covers are the most practical ones. 👍

    Nice truck! Probably exactly the same as I’ll do to mine except the leveling kit. I like the stock geometry for towing

    Ive had several trucks. And my experience is the one without all that techy stuff are the most reliable. I love my 2021 ram classic. thinking about getting those runner boards.

      Unless you go back pre-fuel injection, anything you buy will have a computer. I agree with your comment though. The more stuff you have on it, the more there is to break. Also, a simple modification can have some unexpected consequences. The main thing that I recommend is to do your research and get info from multiple sources before you get on the slippery slope of modifications. Also, if you intend to sell a vehicle, you will rarely get back all those dollars that you spent on modifications. In fact, it may deter buyers because it has been messed with.

    I did a 2.5 in leveling kit and i wish i did a 2in one. I haul and tow with the truck and so with the 2.5 it squats with even 400lbs of corn in the bed

      Thanks for sharing that. Any chance you would run air shocks in the rear to compensate or maybe lift the rear 1/2"?

      @busabobsgarage9876 really looking into getting the timber Grove ASAM load leveling bags. They seem the best engineered and simplest

      Bagging it is certainly a good way to get the level and the ride that you like. It looks like a nice kit, thanks for sharing 👍

    Does the leveling kit make a huge difference?? I really want to get it. What do you mean pulling the struts? How long is the job putting them on, figuring you have all the right tools on hand?

    • @busabobsgarage9876
      @busabobsgarage9876  Год назад +2

      The leveling kit is going to give the truck the stance that you want. If you raise the front with the hockey puck or doughnut style spacers, you have to remove the struts and put the spacers on top of the struts. If you have never removed struts before, I would recommend getting some help from someone who is familiar with this kind of work. It will probably take abut 1-2 hours per side. Plan on getting a front end alignment after you install, and you should probably check the height of your headlight beams before you do this, so you can readjust them to the same height afterward. Lastly, I would watch some more vids specifically for your truck on how to perform this work before you start tearing things apart.

      @@busabobsgarage9876 yes sir, I’ve done a lot of different work to a Colorado extensively and now I have this ram. Haven’t had to do much besides oil changes and brakes, but I think I can do it

    (im a little late to this video Im aware)
    Your "cold air intake" doesnt do much to increase performance or fuel economy especially when youre will pulling air from under the hood, Its warm air + your trucks ECU can and will identify air temps and adjust accordingly. If you wanted a "cold air intake" youd have been better off buying a snorkel cause at the very least the air wouldnt have been pre-warmed by your engine bay area.

    • @busabobsgarage9876
      @busabobsgarage9876  3 месяца назад

      I believe that it does pull air from outside the engine bay, but the filter itself is inside. That said, I am disappointed with minimal if any performance gains. I guess I'm down to "8" essential upgrades 😢

    Did you increase your tire size after you installed the leveling kit? I'm thinking of doing the same but worried that the tires will look undersized (and they're new-ish)... so thinking of waiting until I need new tires. But your setup looks good... what size tires are they?

    • @busabobsgarage9876
      @busabobsgarage9876  Месяц назад +1

      The previous owner must have changed the tire size. It now has 275/60R20, which is about equal to 33". According to the interweb, the stock tire for the Bighorn should be 275/65R18, approx 34". If this is correct, it looks like someone may have put on a smaller tire with bigger rim. Not sure if it makes sense, but in my opinion, it doesn't look too bad. If you are going to change rims, be careful with the offset. If you go too far positive, your tires will hit the wheel wheelwells. I don't have exact specs, but learned this the hard way with an expensive set of rims on a chevy avalanche. Best advice is "do your research ".

      @@busabobsgarage9876 Hmm... I wonder if I can get away with the leveling kit now.. I just bought it a little over a week ago (2022 Laramie). As I mentioned, the tires look almost brand new. They're 275/55R20, which according to google are just a hair under 32". So slightly smaller than what you have (which looks good).

    • @busabobsgarage9876
      @busabobsgarage9876  Месяц назад +1

      I suppose it depends what you are ultimately going for. You may want to wait till it's time again for tires and save yourself the hassle and cost of the alignment. Who knows, you might go a totally different direction by then.

    1st item. What is it and why did you do it, what was thethought process?

    • @busabobsgarage9876
      @busabobsgarage9876  Год назад +1

      First upgrade was a 2" leveling kit. You can find leveling kits on Amazon, eBay, etc. The reason I did it was mainly for the stance. You will notice that the stock Ram, or most any 1500 series, is raked or lower in the front. If you install a leveling kit on the front, you will need an alignment.
