I'm against leaks as it takes out the hype and it really creates damage to the company and the hard work from the developers.
Regarding cyber security this is BIG and can create huge damage.

Being a leaker is just a net negative these days. It ruins peoples’ surprises, you get people pissed off at you all the time, and you risk getting in a world of trouble. Even if you get clout from it, you’re one mistake away from everyone turning on you. If anything, I wish that leakers would go away because of the terrible challenges they would face by doing it.

I don’t pay attention to any of the leaks, but they used to make me really excited about that. Someone knows what’s happening at Nintendo and predicting it but now at this point, it just ruins the fun ruins the excitement you have when watching a Nintendo direct and seeing you’ve been waiting for for so long pop up on the screen.

Don't know if this type of situation may apply to Nintendo, but the fnf modding community gets completely shafted when leaks of a song or whatever are released and can apparently lead to entire songs being scrapped despite all the work.

Technically I'm not a fan of leaks because it does ruin the fun for me because I want to be excited for what's coming which is why I have been trying to avoid them but if they leaked out like Tomodachi Life to Switch or any of the 2 3DS Kirby Games like Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot then I would be hype for that but sadly it is sad to see these leakers gone from the internet and then just seeing how the future will go with leakers and Nintendo.

Nintendo will certainly t r y to close up leaks... but as games get bigger and more complex, they need bigger dev teams. Which, of course, means more people. And with so many people, its just inevitable one of them leaks info. So leaks will never truly die.
As for if I like them or not... its a weird mixed thing for me. On one hand, yeah I like to be surprised by really hype Nintendo announcements. Its a big part of the Nintendo Direct charm. Just knowing everything makes it all boring af. But on the other haaand... part of why rumor & leak talk has become popular with Nintendo at times, is during those periods where they're not exactly being transparent with what they're doing. So it makes us thirsty for a n y kinds of updates, and leaks and rumors are basically that. Like, leak and rumor talk were the only thing getting us through the NX era. That entire horrible dry period between the end of the Wii U and Switch's beginnings. So while I like to be surprised, during times where we don't know wtf is going on... its nice to be in the know in s o m e way.

Most of the time leaks get my hopes up to much. I’d probably find it easier to cope with a game not coming out/getting announced if I never knew about it in the first place, right?
Honestly I am glad there are less major leakers, if I wanted to know everything that is coming, I wouldn’t be as hyped for directs, plus it is kinda bad that after the developers finally make enough progress to show everyone their work, it is undermined by someone revealing it early

Leaks are great. Because even if somethings leaked it’s never certain till it’s shown. We’ve spent the entire Switch life cycle being “leaked” that TP/WW ports were coming in literally each and every direct and they never did.
Nintendo can try but they’ll never kill leaks. While we lost Midori and Pyoro, we can’t forget that they themselves just randomly appeared one day. And one day others just like them will randomly appear to take their place.
Get ready to get this leaks yes Nintendo can’t stop leaks entirely but they are doing a great job so far going by the Nintendo direct which was a nice surprise.
Yeah no. Stop all of them? no. Stop big ones/most of them? Yes.
Leaks hurt everyone involved and are just more fun to speculate and find out later.

This makes so much sense tho, since Nintendo LOVES their hype and wants to keep it going. Whenever someone like a very good leaker comes and brings people news anx updates on games and consoles and stuff, the hype goes down as people have more of an idea of what to expect and its even more likely that if something doesn't come like the leaker said, then the hype and their hard work for the game will turn to hate and not sell as much as another suprizing hype of the game would do.
I want leaks back so so so so so bad and I know they will come back.
I am more than fine with no leaks because all it does is build crazy expectations that are more than likely not true. Worst case, they flat out just ruin a fun surprise announcement.

I kind of prefer not having leaks since I do like being surprised during directs. And moreover, given that Nintendo really does not like their stuff getting leaked, some would argue that it may tempt Nintendo to postpone and/or switch decisions for game releases for the sake of having at least something surprised. All because they just really do not like it when people hack into their codes to reveal what's supposed to be confidential business plans.
I feel vague leaks and maybe small things or long dormant franchises getting something (still kept vague) is okay. As we can theorize and talk about.
As suddle and vague leaks feeds the theory machine and we can get our hopes properly set. Also no leaking announcement time or release dates.
Personally, I'd rather have leakers tell me when there will be a jumpscare than what game is coming their way. I like surprises, but not if it's gonna scare me.

For me on the topic of leaks. I actually feel like leaks can be good and bad at the same time. Leaks can get people excited for the reveal but it could also lose the hype of a game. If the game is announced and is getting another trailer leak that it is. If it's not announced don't leak it.

Doesn’t really matter in the end, all leaks did was hype up the games like a week before they got announced, I can wait a week without getting a hint on the next big game.
Idc, I just like exciting things being revealed, it does not matter if it is official or unofficial. Things that shock will shock regardless, F-Zero for example had us all in disbelief because the series was believed to be done for.(yes, I actually was on the edge of my seat watching that direct because I wanted to see if it is real. Which it was, obviously.)
