Hi Dr Dray. I absolutely love your channel and have a question. Do you wait between applying the ha & moisturizer? Can these 2 products be mixed and applied simultaneously?
Thanks so much for this useful advice! How do you ensure you are applying HA to wet skin if you first need to put on e.g. niacinamide serum (that needs dose contact with skin)? Do you just put HA on straight after?
If you watch her PM skincare routine video you'll see dr dray does this - she cleanses, applies HA, applies moisturizer, applies prescription retinal. I find her demos of her routine very helpful, you should check them out.
Happy Wednesday, Dr Dray! I really want to love hyaluronic acid but it makes me break out so I've given up on using it. Thanks for the info. I hope you have a fantastic evening! 💖
You should do a video discussing nano particles in sunscreen because it has been said they could be absorbed into the blood which can be bad in long term.
I was wondering if you use other antioxidant serums like vitamin c or a retinoids or niacinamide that often instruct to be put on right after cleansing to better absorb into the skin, then how do you layer the hylarounic acid + moisturizer to ensure you don’t lose moisture but get the most affect of the products? Sorry if that’s a confusing way to ask the question :)
You can apply niacinamide over Hyaluronic acid....but u need to wait for 3-4 mins gap ...and then u can allly moisturizer...I do it ..works good for me 🥳
I love the calendar reminder idea! I will definitely start doing this. Are there any active ingredients that should be avoided when using hyaluronic acid?
I love the ha from the the ordinary! It’s fab for my skin! Also a question I know it’s not related to this video, I use ponds cold cream at night to break up the oils and dirt on my face .. to double cleanse could I use the cerave hydrating cleanser as the second cleanse? As that’s quite oily too? I don’t want to use the foaming one as I have more dry skin? Thank you :) love your videos! They are making me happy especially in a time like this xx 💕
Thanks for this video Dr Dray. I personally like to use my sunscreen in the morning after washing my face. Then I wash it off at night when I get home and add the HA serum.
Thank you for demonstrating why and how to use hyaluronic acid2%+B5....but then I get confused when to use the rest of my serums, glycolic 10% or my squalane next maybe...help and when to use solution of Ascorbyl glucose 12%? And maybe I'm over using all of it...thank you for your knowledge..xoxo
Marlene Harden thinnest water based serum to heaviest oil based products. Acids usually need to be applied right after cleansing and once u put your next water based serum on it will diactivate the acid so I usually do the acid wait 5 mins then do the rest of my skincare. I would do glycolic wait 5 mins then hyaluronic then vit c then moisturizer then squalane. But I have different routines for different days so I don’t have to put them all on at one time. You could rotate days or routines am/pm so u don’t have to layer too many at one time. You don’t need everything every single day to have good skin. Hope this helps. Hi there Dr. Dray, first off id like to take a moment to say thank you for all the great content you post and share with us all and your consistency with videos. I watch your channel everyday whether its a new video or an older one. In regards to this video in specific, I have a question about the Neutragena hyaluronic acid non-fragragrent gel cream. You mentioned it was targeted more for oily skin but I have been using it for about 3 weeks now and I have dry skin. I live in the high desert in the San Bernardino County in California and it is a dry location. My question is, is this gel cream working well enough on my skin like it would on someone with oily skin? Or does this product work for dry skin as well? Thank you!
Dr. Dray- It is such a pleasure to watch your content: Intelligent, informed, academic, charismatic, articulate. And cool quirky! Q: I am currently using a range of products : Vit C/ferulic acid serum ( home brewed) and Hyaluronic Acid serum ( home brewed) and Retinol 05%, (scrip) and an Alpha Hydroxy cream. AND Ambi fade creme AND various CeraVe and Neutrogena day/night/ moisture/sunscreen products. The results are encouraging. But I am clueless on how to integrate all these ingredients. Could you do a piece on how to incorporate multi products? Should I just schedule a virtual appt? S
I agree about the Neutrogena Hydroboost. I tried it before I discovered your channel when it first came out. I tried it as a stand alone moisturizer and it didn’t work for my dry skin. I didn’t realize at the time that it wasn’t meant for my skin type. Hada labo’s hyaluronic products work well for me under Cerave so I might try it again some day under Cerave.

Also, using your advice about cracking feet, I've been able to get my retired ballerina feet in shape for the first time since I was a teenager. You do so much for so many people, Dr. Warmest regards, ThePlagueFairy
Omg I have missed this channel!!!!
I never knew what that 24M meant!! I always kind of wondered. Thank you!!
Thank u for your information about hyaluranic acid👍. In which cases we do need hyaluranic acid injection under eyes?
Thanks for the video. Can you pls elaborate ab application when you use a treatment aswell? Let a say u use salicylic acid in the same routine. Or niacinamide and peptides.???
I also have that question! I put niacinamide at night and would that be applied on damp skin before hyaluronic acid?
Yes, I also want to know this!!
That's why I came to see the video...
she has a video "how to layer skincare products"
Yes! Or differin.
Another awesome video by our awesome Dr. Dray!!! ❤️🙏🤗
Thanks for sharing! I just bought a hyaluronic serum and turns out, I’ve been using it wrong. Thankful for the info from the video. Hope you’re well! 💛💛
The tip about keeping track on calendar 💥
I use Hada Labo Perfect Gel with Cerave moisturizing cream, amazing combination that keeps my skin free from flakiness that could have come from my acne treatment of benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and differin!!!
Hi do you wait for the hadalabo to dry on your skin before you apply cera ve? Or do you put straight cera ve on your face while the hadalabo serum is still on your face?
Thank you so much for these subject-specific videos! Literally any concern I have, no matter how unique, I can search it up and feel confident you have a video on it.
When do you put on your Tretinoin (Retin A) cream if your using HA? And can HA be used with Niacinimide & Vitamin C?
HA works best with Vit C! That's how I use it. I spray my face with my vit C spray and while my face is still damp I apply my HA serum. I wait for it to dry. Then I apply niacinamide and follow it up with a water based moisturizer.
@@ohmymascara6527 I recently read that HA changes the PH of vitamin c and minimizes it’s effectiveness. I always did them together too until recently.
@@lemonsqueezy5718 they can be. Research has shown that combining niacinamide and vit c does not lead to skin problem. This also depends on the %age of the product you're using.
Fantastic info. Wow, Dr. Dray, thank you! 🎉
How do we apply other products that need to be applied on dry skin before we moisturise?
You’ve helped me understand how to pick great products, save money and get skin compliments regularly. Thank you!
I don’t use sunscreen....
APRIL FOOLs, Dr. Dray 😝
😑😑👊🏽
😂
Hilarious!! You’re gonna be in trouble. 😅
Taylor Palmer 😂
Bahhahhaha!
Oh my god, this was so eye opening. I used to apply altruist face spf immediately after drying my face from the shower and it would pill up so badly! I thought it was just a terrible product but it was probably because there was still a little water on my face!! 🙈
Can vitamin C and hyaluronic acid be used together? I assume so, since the CeraVe Vitamin C Serum contains hyaluronic acid. What would be the best way to incorporate both into my routine?
Thanks. And here I was wondering why at times it wasn’t very effective. I think it was when I put it on for extra hydration on dry skin, nothing after, and went to sleep. So I thought you needed a lot of it. Will be more strategic with it nwo
How do you use the HA + moisturizer with Tretinoin in the pm and Timeless Vitamin C in the am? PM: I am using the Tretinoin first, followed up with HA (Necessaire body serum) then CereVe night renewing cream. AM: I am applying the Vitamin C serum, Barrier Reef lotion then either a mineral sunscreen or La Roshe-posay then sunscreen. It sounds like I should appy the HA + moisturizer prior to the Active Tretinoin or Vit C? You are so amazing. Thank you so much for all your help!
I have the same question, if you could please answer this Dr. Dray it would be much appreciated
Wondering same
@@RM-ld4mo Would putting tretinoin on top of those layers of a moisturizer and an HA decrease the effectiveness?
Wondering too.
I’d like to know to
Thanks for sharing the HA tip. I used to apply on my dry face until I watched your video.
so thats why my skin actually feels dry in the morning... ive been so frustrated bc i literally layer my moisturiser but its really not occlusive enough. i didnt wanna believe when you said my moisturiser wasnt enough by itself as a moisturiser bc it was pretty expensive for me but now 😭😭😭😭😭. afterwards i finally bought a ceramide cream lol.
oh my God!!! I had no idea I could use it on my damp face.... wow, so I understand it is good to put some around eye area... great. Thanks doc!
omg I just bought a hyaluronic acid serum and was totally applying it wrong this came just in time 😂
Same thing happened with me
What were you doing wrong??
Thank you Dr Dray and especially the "keeping a diary" of when we open the product...helps alot
Have a great day 🙂
I write ( with permanent marker) on each product the date I opened it and when to throw it out.
Hi Dr Dray. I absolutely love your channel and have a question.
Do you wait between applying the ha & moisturizer? Can these 2 products be mixed and applied simultaneously?
Hello Dr.dray ihave two questions
1. Can I use cerave SA cream on hyaluronic acid serum ?
2. Can I used cerave SA cream on versed vitamin c serum?
When do u use the vitamin C serum? I use c first and then hylauranic serum. Should switch it?
sherryp no, since vitamin C is more important it should come first
I have the same question. Vitamin c hyaluronic acid then moisturizer?
sherryp no hyaluronic acid first. Water before anhydrous
sherryp s
Thank you Dr. Dray. Your videos are always helpful and interesting. God bless you
Thanks so much for this useful advice! How do you ensure you are applying HA to wet skin if you first need to put on e.g. niacinamide serum (that needs dose contact with skin)? Do you just put HA on straight after?
You are so smart. Thank you for your knowledge!
Very helpful, thanks!!
Can Retain A be applied on same nights on top of the hyaluronic acid and moisturiser?
I wonder that too
Yepp
I'm not sure. Since it holds water on your skin, can Retin A or Adaplene be effective in penetrating that?
Sue G Z I use them both at night. Retain A just can’t be mixed with Vitamin C. I’ve never had an issue, I use the HA first because it’s thinnest
If you watch her PM skincare routine video you'll see dr dray does this - she cleanses, applies HA, applies moisturizer, applies prescription retinal. I find her demos of her routine very helpful, you should check them out.
You're a master educator! Thank you Dr Drey!
I have the same question :)
You can apply niacinamide over Hyaluronic acid....but u need to wait for 3-4 mins gap ...and then u can allly moisturizer...I do it ..works good for me 🥳
Your skin looks great!!!You take good care of your skin and it shows!!What do you use to keep your face looking so beautiful and young?
Botox
I love the calendar reminder idea! I will definitely start doing this. Are there any active ingredients that should be avoided when using hyaluronic acid?
Your videos are amazingly helpful, always!❤️Thankyou so much!
Your skin is beautiful. Happy to have discovered your account.
I have been watching you everyday! I am learning so much! I love your energy! 🥳
I’m not a derm but I’ve done a lot of research and helped a lot of people in my life w skincare and acne.
@@slamminsam6xoxothank you for that crystal clear down wright English🙏🏼😇 first time I really do understand why it's so important to use the thinnest first...xoxo I'm still learning from great teachers again thank you for sharing..🤗🤗 be safe..
Dr Dray what do you think of using La Roche Posay Toleriane 8 Spray as a humectant alternative to hyaluronic acid for sensitive skin that cant tolerate hyaluronic acid? Did you tried that?
A video about humectant serum alternatives for sensitive skin types would be so great
Hi there Dr. Thank you!
Your jawline is insane! I’m in absolute awe
Dr dray - do you have a preference between Neutrogena hydro boost or the indeed labs serum?
Hi. Dr Dray could you please tell me how many times should i use hyaluronic acid in a day.
When using this or any other serum, when do you apply topical medications like aczone?
Is there a way to boost comments to get a response?
So if you're using tretinoin which goes first? The tret or the hyaluronic acid?
How would I use hylauronic acid after my glycolic acid toner if my skin should be wet? I use the toner from the ordinary and just ordered the hylauronic acid from the same brand. I don’t want to wash away my toner before applying the hylauronic serum...?
What about toner? Before the serum? Should you damp your face or mist some water and then apply the ha?
