“For just $259 dolllars” 😭 Youn, I adore you, but idk if I can even pay rent this month 💔
Felt ❤ boo you’re not alone
IPL not as effective as diode lol
2 real
I feel like it's extremely cheap if it lasts years, compared to the others solutions
This is not how the world works.
IPL light WORKS! 👍🏻 I have a device (another brand) and I literally killed all the thick black hair I had on my legs, face, and I am currently working on other areas. But, it works if you have lots of patience, consistency and commitment.
Also, you need to have dark hair and light skin as the IPL light burns the dark color.
People with dark skin would burn themselves.
Can it be used for light brown skin like mine or not recommended? Thanks!
@@anthonyrosique7965 Well, I can tell you from my experience that in an area where I have a birth mark which is light brown color, the IPL burned my skin there a little, to the point that became flaky and some of it came off. 😲 So, my birth mark is lighter now, that tells you the impact it would have in your skin. I don’t think it would be safe IMO.
@@MonicaPerez-yv2iw Yep. Definitely not. Thanks though!
Its temporary for almost everyone
@@jaquicx9500 No, the results I got are permanent, but it has to be done many times. It requires patience and commitment.
I wish! I hope this works for dark skin with dark hair. Dark skin with coarse and dark hair.
So many hair removal tools are not made for dark skin or dark skin with coarse hair and it would be really great if more treatments were made with all people in mind. Little steps though.
Unfortunately IPL is not suitable for dark skin.
If you want to try, try the other one that is way less intense. It will take longer for the results but it will be safer for you.
From the same company and it comes in green and white so that you do buy the purple one by accident
IPL is better than regular laser for dark skin. As long as there is some pigment and a difference in shade of the skin and hair, it will work. Coarser hair is actually better, since the laser has a larger target. The people who can't get use out of it are platinum blondes- especially if they have super pale skin. It's pretty amazing.
Edit; the reason it is better for a wider range of skin and hair tones is it has a much broader range of light waves. It makes it less powerful - so it takes more sessions, but it makes it more versatile.
Edit again: I've done a lot of digging to confirm this. The people saying it doesn't work have not used one, nor know how it actually works.
It's fine
I read that The At home IPL sadly is only for light skin and dark hair. It doesn’t work with light hair dark skin or both.
Personally, i would not buy something without seeing the person that is advertising it using it. Thank you though Dr Youn!
Cassandra Bankson has a video on this device which she tested by IPLing half her body, one leg, one underarm, one big toe 🤣💞
“you have my attention”
*”you lost my attention”*
It only works with light skin and dark hair. If u have light hair OR dark skin or both u have to go get it professionally done
And the results of IPLs are temporary.
The tria 4x laser is what I have and it cover more skin tones, but still not enough, and it does work on blondes; best of all, its actually permanent. My hair actually went away faster with the tria than with one of the top laser hair removal salons in nyc.
@@jaquicx9500does it work for brown skin
@@jaquicx9500 yea I’m really interested in it ngl lol. Body hair sucks😂
Damn that sucks…
Are you being serious? @jaquicx9500
When they come out with one for darker skin, I'm definitely buying it.
Samee
What?
@@its3amandilostmypasswordthe one that is currently out says it will not work on darker skin
Or lighter hair! I mean: I'm probably 4-6 waxing seshes away from obliterating my fu-muff-chou, but STILL! (Cree/Norwegian/Fluck-knows-what-else, here. Leg hairs are almost-nonexistent, transparent, except for the odd 3 inchers that grow around my ankle region. I've got pinch or so of straight, mouse-brown hairs under each arm, and A1 Muffin Fluffins.)
Seriously: the latter? I could probably grow, cut, and sell to wigmakers. But only in the lower, front muffstache area. Everything else in that region is bald, or patchy around the edges. Then? My blonde, puberty, buttmoustache- my muffinchop if you will- consists of, again: tiny, overcooked rice noodles. If said noodles were crafted by Santa's Elves; aka mini and tissue-paper-thin.
What's the point of spending ~300USD, plus taxes, shipping , customs, and MORE taxes, on something that could only remove half my remaining hair, leaving behind the most annoying of it??!
Even worse: SOMETHING ONLY A SMALL CHONK OF HUMXNKIND CAN GET *ANY* BENEFIT FROM!?!??
*IS* there permanent, at-home-tech that won't A) leave our beloved P.O.C. pals with 3rd degree burns on their bikini zones!?!..... because brutal ingrowns aren't enough to contend with for people with 3B and beyond curl patterns.. or B) leave folks with no medulla and weak coteces (cortexes? Spelling??) installing bidets that shoot frozen water at our bootyholes to deal with our invisible-yet still toilet-paper-snatchy butt fluffins??
(Don't get me wrong!! Bidets are the tits! Just not the cold-water-only, attached to your toilet seat, clean after anyone uses your bathroom, lest you miss a splatter pattern and get THAT all up in your personals. No Bueno.)
*Cries in ginger*
Cries in mixed Caribbean that somehow has dark skin with baby fine ginger body hair. Literally nothing works on me, it's even a struggle to shave
@ rip I’m so sorry. I’m in the same boat, doing electrolysis now 💸
This is actually a great deal, Considering how expensive frequent laser hair removal sessions are
I use Brown IP epilator, the newest one, that I got for testing and it IS realy great!!! 🤩
I don't use ut very regulary anymore but oh girls... it helped me so much to get through the summer! 🙈❤️❤️
i get after shaving CRAZY itchy skin (it wakes me even at night) and this helped crazy.
Hair grows MUCH slowlier, I shave once in few weeks and it is just perfect. I have very pale- white skin with very dark black hair so it was ideal for me...
I can’t use razors or I scratch until my sheets are full of blood. I use an epilator and wish I had not suffered for so many years of intense itching.
Doc, please, can you confirm if it works for all skin shades? We, black/darker-skinned women would love to know.
It doesn’t.
unfortunately, it doesn't. IPL (Intense pulsed light) is attracted to the pigment in the hair, thus it will be attracted to the pigment (melanin) in skin which can cause burns. IPL is also not recommend for blondes as the hair lacks melanin/pigment.
I'd love to know if there's any information on the long-term effects.
Yes. Possible scarring and likely regrowrh, requiring more sessions. Also doesn't work unless you have light skin and dark hair. And will burn dark skin.
It's been out a long time, just not a home product.
Guys just saying but IPL won't work. I have experience of 15 years. I know what I'm talking about. Also depends on your hormones. Depending on your hormones you need to use certain laser treatments... IPL istn it. Hair will grow back (just bit slower)
I actually bought the Ulike 10 yesterday :) waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I’ve been wanting this for soooo long!
What did you think?
???
I’ve dealt with random patches of thick black hair on my face, neck and belly since I turned 30. It sucks. So I bought another brand although this Ulike one looked the best, I was just trying to spend less the first time to see if it worked and if I needed more rounds or better treatment I’ll get that one when this runs out. Anyway it’s the only time I’ve been grateful for super pale skin and dark hair as it’s attracted to the pigment and it can blast it better and be more precise the lighter your skin without risking burns. If you have moles, tattoos, dark scars, or dark skin I’d be very cautious and buy one of these through Amazon so you can return if it’s not for you. It definitely makes a little pain but it’s not bad and I’ve seen my hair color and volume decrease a lot. I was looking at laser hair removal before this and $300 is nothing after those prices. There’s always like a $80 off coupon too and lightning deals for it like every other week so just throw it on a list or in your cart and you’ll get notified. The one I got was around $100 and it definitely works.
which brand did you buy from?
@@snoobet Aopvui is the name of the brand. I wish you the best of luck! I hope you find something that works for you!
Will the hair removal eventually be permanent if I keep using it? Ive been wanting to get one and I trust you. So I just may get this.
Does it only have a few times you can use it ??
I’m olive skinned. Dr. Youn, can we use this?
Probably not, and the results are temporary anyway
Hi. Does IPL have permanent hair removal results ? Is IPL better than laset technology on hair removal ? thx
OK now what the _hell_ does "Sapphire Ice Cooling Energy" mean?? You mention it as a FEATURE of the device but it just seems like nonsense words. Please explain?
Edit: it's interesting. Lasers have gems in them. I had no idea!
I know what it means as a laser tech for almost two decades and that is the only part of this that isn’t sketchy. It just means it has a sapphire to chill the surface of the skin. I would definitely not trust this to give permanent results.
@@SingingAesthetician thanks for the information! I really appreciate it, you sent me onto a learning path. I responded initially with "Well that doesn't sound right, why would a laser have a sapphire in it? That doesn't make sense." And _that_ made me realize...I don't know how a laser works, maybe instead of thinking something sounds sketchy because it sounds weird to ignorant me I should look it up. I had no idea lasers incorporate precious gems! OBVIOUSLY. Lasers like these in particular, if anyone is curious, use a titanium-treated sapphire to remove or lessen the heat sensation. I'm not going to get any more technical than that because there's information out there that will explain it much better than I could.
Recommendation for men’s body hair removal?
Cool. Less door to door sales pitch, more practical information please. What hair types does this work best on? What hair type is this a lost cause for?
I have the Monsia Silk Series Pro and love it.
The price is impressive, last time I looked into this it was respectable brand for $400
I've been looking for something like this. I'm a guy but I absolutely hate my body hair and don't wanna pay 1000s of dollars for multiple sessions to a proffessional. I'm definitely gunna pick this up.
No dont, the results are temporary
I have the Tria 4x laser and it works and works permanently. Its like $500, but probably closer to $300 on black friday. God bless❤
@@jaquicx9500while i believe you 100%, how did you come to find out the results of this particular one is temporary?
and how long have you been using the tria for? are the results of that one actually permanent?
thanks in advance :)
@@jaquicx9500do you have this? How do you know it’s temporary results?
So excited I’m waiting for it to arrive ❤
I’ve been researching recently for an entirely different purpose….. dark spots, wrinkles, etc. If you research IPL for face you will find a lot of good videos. Just wanted you to know there was an amazing bonus most don’t know about! Keep me updated! I’d love to know your results! Patience is the key…. It can take 3 months to notice anything. Update me, if you don’t mind…. I may have bought one by then but I’d still love to have an update. OH…. How much did you pay? Did you use discount code? Their website currently has $80 off.
Quando terá esse aparelho por aqui no Brasil, um laser portátil?, fabuloso.
This isn't for dark skinned, is it, Dr Youn?
Pls include all skin tones.last time i. A short you spoke about creepy skin and fractional laser( again not suitable for dark skinned) I heard in your longer videos
Its shush a great thing i will need it som day to buy it
Is this as effective as getting it done by a professional?
Can thos be used for skin rejuvenation? Sun damage? Age spots?
I have extreme KP skin. Can I use this? Does it worsen my skin condition? Does it burn? Is there any pre- or post-care procedure to avoid scarring or burn?
How long is the code good for? Also any tips on keeping the device clean in between uses? Thank you
could i use it on my neck for neck wrinkles? also, could i use it on my face just for skin rejuvenation?
Oh yay! I need this. 🎉
That’s actually pretty cool

Will this work for those unwanted hair growth on your ears that get longer the older you get?
I was so happy until I heard "just for $259". I gasped so hard. 😂

$250 is reasonable, last I looked into it a at home laser treatment device is $400
are there Long-term studies?
Is this device recommended for women of color?
Thankyou Dr Youn, how would you compare it with philips lumea prestige. Which on is better?
Dr. Youn, does it work for African American people?

Can this work for medium skinned/ olive/ tanned skinned girlies?
I got the beami laser hair removal is that a good one ?? It was 100 bucks on Amazon
Do we have to use every day???
How does it work? I’m not buying something if I don’t know exactly how it works
Does this work for black skin
Is it also dark skin aproved ?
Does the hair have to be darker than the skin like laser treatments?
Yes it does. The devise targets all things darker than the main surface. I believe there are different options for divides that work on dark skin to dark hair. I have blonde leg hair and I’m Caucasian so it not work on me for hair removal. There are other uses though.
How long the results last?
Does it work on dark skin?
Unfortunately it's not suitable for dark skin as it can cause hyperpigmentation.
Can we get one for nostrils?
Does this means that after 12 weeks I wouldn't need to use this device nor any shaver or wax anymore? It's permanent right?
Does it matter what *colour* the hair is ???
I have a doubt... After the hair treatment , what do you guys do with that device??
I can't afford this in this life 🤣
Now I’ll buy
Ok for dark skin? I use ndyag? Laser atm but would love to do this at home
You need #ad
I’m gonna pull the plunge and get this. It seems to last longer than getting waxed frequently and I’m tired of ingrowns
does it work on light skin gray hair?
It doesn't work on grey hair.
How is this not just light cool sculpting?
Does this work on dark skin I'm a type 4 on the Fitzpatrick scale and was wondering if this is safe for people with my complexion
I’m Indian, medium toned for an Indian, can I use this?
If you wanna surprise me make it work for ppl of color
How well does this work on brown skin?
Wish these things would work for red hair 🤷🏼♀️
How does it work??
does it remove white hair
I dunno. Just the way you approached this ad made it feel like a 1980s ad and I was instantly uninterested. I want to see real results over time!
Quanta costa???
Weird question but, can a man use it on the shaft.....some hairs started showing up there and plucking it, results sometimes in ingrown hairs, which is not that good.
How do you know if your hair won't grow back ? What if there is something that your hair will grow back as soon/after you stop using it??
My husband is bald and is tired of shaving his head. Can I use this on his head?
Where can I buy this and does it ship to the uk
But does it work..... everywhere??? 😮
Is it safe for someone who have a lot of beauty marks?
Is it good for dark skin with malasma on face?
Noooo, absolutely not. On a dark skin it can cause hyperpigmentation, so it would get worse unfortunately.
@@missmoon6624 thank you

I have a mole on my armpit :/
I used level 4 and i have burn mark now 😢... i have to wait months to heal . Then to try it again maybe on 2 level
Is it painful? At bikini area?
I'm so sick of everyone saying it takes less than 10 min for full body. It takes me 40 minutes to do my armpits and half of each leg. I don't even know if it's even working and I have light skin and dark hair...😒 it's been over a month
Does it work with light blonde hair?
Nope
I have the ideal hair/skin color, but my hair is corse AF! Does this work well enough to NOT cause ingrown hairs?
i’ve done this professionally and havent gotten ingrowns, but i always exfoliate the next evening so that helps. you should probably read some reviews though!
@ohwow9559 my worry is at-home ones aren't strong enough. I didn't think of exfoliating, which would definitely work. Thank you!

Can i use it where the sun dont shine?
Can you use it on tattooed skin?
My understanding is that it detects pigment. If you go over your tattoos, it will cause a burn. I'll just say, I have one and I'll be avoiding mine.
