Thanks for flagging. I’ve also used a Philips IPL which I mention in this video but it wasn’t quite as good as this one - though it is good. Does the SkinGenics device have the cooling system?
The Silkn brand worked great for me and my daughters , we are/were hairy Latinas. It’s far more economical and they give great seasonal discounts. I also use their Titan .
I would like to try Philip 9000. But, you like Ulike more… Is there any update with these 2 products? Which one do you think should i get? Philip 9000 or Ulike 10. Thanks beauty ❤😊
We just got the Ulike air10 and I’m really impressed with the quality of the device. I was nervous about getting a Chinese product because I thought it might be kind of shoddy but it’s not at all. It’s too early to tell if it’s working or not but I’m feeling hopeful. I love the cool tip, it doesn’t feel hot or uncomfortable at all.
Thanks to your video I went out and bought the Air 3, I managed to get a fair bit off the price if I ordered via the website directly so I’m super sorry for not using your link but your video made me feel confident that this might be the right one for me!
@@iir.3.7 oh, I am covered in tattoos and found out after I bought it that it’s not suitable for use on tattoos so haven’t actually been able to use it at all
yea!!! my son is very embarrassed about the amount of hair he has. when he shaves his neck he gets such bad folliculitis. we have been looking at professional treatment. this might be a good option.
I’m sorry to hear he’s struggling with that. Might be worth seeing a dermatologist to talk through the options before trying something new. Hope you find a solution.
I bought a Philips lumea in 2017 I think. I need to use it once or twice a year. The only two areas where it doesn't work: on my knees and under my arms. I have thin pale armpit hair and I think that is the reason: not dark enough to work. Would this ipl machine work better on lighter hair?
I think it works for personal use, like at home people will find it works if they are consistent. Like me I bought one and been using for 3 years. But if it's being used at a business, it won't be strong enough
Thank you for this great informative video!! ❤🎉❤ It seems the Ulike head is quite big..do you think it is manageable on the upper lip? That is the only place I want to use it. Also, how many zaps should we do in 1 session I didn'thear you mention? Thanks!!❤
Yah this is what I want to know too. I had a tria and used it for 3 years, but it stopped working now. And am wondering if its technology is outdated compared to Ulike . But she said one is a laser and one is IPL, and it seems most people say laser is stronger. But again perhaps because Tria is an old product, maybe the new IPL Ulike is stronger.
Many thanks, I've been using a clinical laser but I decided to buy these things laser. According to ur experience , which brand(model) do you recommend as having longer effectiveness?
I purchased the purple ulike. I used it for the first time yesterday. I was using the 2nd setting on my face. Even with my eyes closed and glasses on, I could see my skull light up, lol.
@@no-one0425 After 3 weeks, I do notice the hair in some areas slow to no growth and other areas seems not to be making a notable difference yet like facial hair. I think its because my facial hair is thicker so it will take longer for the device to do its job.
@@amya.3174 Its working good. I've been using it for a couple months now. I seem to be hairless every ware I used it except my face. 40% of my facial hair doesn't grow back anymore so I know its working, just taking a lot longer for the thicker hair. The hard part is sticking to a schedule. That's the real test, lol.
I got an IPL device around 8 months ago, but even after 12 sessions, my underarm and bikini hair were still the same.. My skin is light and hair is thick.. My mom also didn't see any results, even though she has a hairless body and only few hairs in the bikini area.. The device I got was Eosika and it costed around 100$.. So should I blame the device? Or is it me and my mom who have a problem? So in other words, do all IPL devices work well despite their prices?
Not all devices are the same and some are absolutely more effective than others. IPL will be less effective on lighter hair though so that may be an issue here.
You are a lifesaver! I have also used two hair removal devices. The Tria was good, but I still have enough leftover stubborn hair and had been discussing with my husband spending the money on going to a professional laser clinic. Thank you!
Thank you for the video! I am interested in the Ulike, also because of the large price difference. I am wondering though if it would be as good as the Lumea without any add-ons for the different body zones. What is your take on that?
Thanks Larissa. I found even with the one tip I could easily use the Ulike on different areas of the body. The results have also held up so, to me, it really delivered.
Is it expensive ? I am in Canada and don't know what to chose between an epilator or lase IPL for at home. I am discourage honestly but not rich to go to the salon to do it. Any advise you have for me please ? Thank you
@Karine I would not go with epilator. Ouch, I'm so glad I displaced mine. Ouch. I believe in the Instructions, it NEVER recommends use that close to your eyes for safety reasons. Think about it, if they also give you glasses to wear for use, how on earth would you use it for brows?
Hello sister I bought the device today and charged it for 2 hours. I then used it for only half an hour, but it suddenly stopped and ran out of charge. Do you know why this happened, and what should I do to fix it?
I haven't tried it for that but they're designed to target the pigment in the hair follicle. In other words, I would only buy an IPL hair removal device for the purposes of hair removal.
They do advise to use it on a lower setting on the face, probably for that reason. I’m not sure how much research has been done on the link between IPL and melasma but I’ll make a note to take a look at it on the channel.
@@vivixwaldo4227 The laser is only painful if you haven't shaven, otherwise you just feel a little burst of heat - nothing to worry about though. I suspect the Tria may be better for the upper lip, mainly because the Ulike head is quite big which means it's suited to larger areas.

Confused about how long to hold it in one place. Do I keep it still until the flash happens and then inch along or do I slide it along slowly (and how many inches per second?) until it flashes? The instructions in the manual are not clear at all. It says a couple of ways to use it that actually cancel each other out (I’m guessing it’s the ESL translation issue) but I don’t want to burn myself by mistake. Do I go over the same area a few times if I’m siding it? Twice? 3x? 4? The way they advertise the longer time frame between on and off suggests that you are meant to slide it over the skin but it doesn’t tell you how quickly to do this. And your video seems to show you pausing between flashes. Confused.
yeah you can these days confusingly, people call it the bikini line even though thats not really what that term meant. but yes it includes vulva hair removal too
