Round of applause for dedication I just not do this because of also my genetics I can't stand hairy anything apart from my head of course lol! It's the feeling of being in bed in shorts and moving your legs together and feeling the hairs rub together
I did get one but it's stopped working obviously a cheaper version but I was told in the leaflet to shave my legs before I did it it even came with a razor a cheap one mind you! I just wish there was a cure for hyperpigmentation 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🇯🇴🇦🇫🤲🏼❤️
Read reviews first. I was looking for a cheaper 2nd IPL machine after Philips Lumea for my Sister. Kenzie had bad reviews online. Bought the 2nd at Costco at £245 GBP
Agreed, I only shave when my hair has completely grown back because it’s super irritating if you do it too often but that means most of 5e time I have Super hairy legs. Which I’m fine with but especially where I live, women with body hair are shamed
@@scarahjolielaide don’t ever feel like anything about your body is abnormal, we all have the same body just different shapes and sizes 💘 body hair is neverrrr something to be insecure ab thats something society’s conditioned our minds to think is abnormal for women
I have PCOS and one of the side effects of it is that I have hirsutism (excessive hair growth) - literally everywhere. I personally purchased a Philips Lumea prestige IPL (250.000 light pulses shots) - I am really happy with the results so far, my hair grows back slower and it's getting thinner. My armpits are so smooth and no sign of hair there!
@@zanibyaqub268 Philips is more expensive, but their technology is superior. Braun also has a great IPL device (still very expensive though) - I prefer investing money in something that lasts longer and I also trust more these brands and their technological innovations.
Apologies of this has already been mentioned - but DO NOT USE THESE DEVICES IF YOU HAVE TATTOOS!!! Doing this treatment over tattoos can cause burns and completely destroy the tattoo 😵💫
I love how you’re one of the only RUclipsrs that tells the brands that you’re gonna show the REAL result. Also, you’re so informative and actually care about us spending our money well✨🙏🏽love u for that.
My partner and I discovered you a week ago and we are f***ing addicted to your videos. The enormous amount of knowledge you possess and share with your audience is mind blowing! Love the science behind all of your reviews. We are now trying to catch up with all your content 😉
Bought this 3 weeks ago, I'm trying it on myself, my 18 year old daughter and the neighbor😁 Every Sunday we all meet and I do the pits of everyone. Haha, so I'll keep ya posted.
@@hmhm2970 it works by flashes each unit comes with a certain amount of flashes approximately 10,000. Most people do their whole legs and their whole body and we're literally just doing the armpits of three people which is like a quarter of the amount of flashes you would do on a full body each day. So, I'm confused on how it would mess it up in any way? Please explain
I used the Phillips Lumea back in 2012... didn't finished the treatment but almost 10 year later I have like 20 hairs on a leg and 30 in the other. A tip was to get a white eyeliner and draw lines on your leg to avoid getting patches
@@melodym2871 you get a white eyeliner and draw parallel lines from ankle to knee the width of the laser removal window, to make sure no spot was missed. So you place the device at the top or bottom of your leg and slowly move it keeping it between the lines.
The Philips lumea was life changing, hair is literally gone in most areas the only thing is you have to stay consistent with what the apps schedule is , got mine on sale and plus my student discount was a bargain.
Mine was cheapest at Costco on offer. £245 inc VAT- GBP Bought the 2nd for my Sister. Barely remove any leg/arm hair & have only slight hair here & there underarms. I have PCOS & warm Indian skintone
I have used the Philips lumea religiously for 9 months and my hair is all gone and has not grown back ( it has been 4 years) and i was hairy!! The best thing is that i have no more ingrown hair and permanent soft skin.
@@lenevanrensburg9947 i am olive skin and my hair is dark, i used it on my full legs, bikini line, arms and pits, it's all gone. I used it on the face although they provide the attachments for it i was a bit nervous. I did a few times on the upper lip and it is much less visible but not gone because i was not as diligent ,I should give it an other go this winter. My daughter (20) did not get the same results, she is very pale with dark hair. She still gets regrowth but thinner, slower and fewer, but most importantly no more ingrown hair. I hope that will help you.
amazing results! i have also olive skin and i am very hairy with dark hair, which Lumea did you get? So glad it worked for you and your daughter as well!
We're really lucky to have you Cassandra. You have no idea how much you impact our life. You literally make people's life better. Never forget that you are amazing and really special to us.
I've been using my Kenzie for about 6 months, not only do I have a drastic reduction of hair, but also sun spots & freckles. I've heard it helps the appearance of strawberry legs too. Love your content!
sherrell - so happy you mentioned this - when i put on fake tan the brown spots on my legs are horrible - not so noticeable without tan but can you tell me more about how the sun spots reduced?
@@jude8602 it took about 3 months of using it weekly, but my sun spot were almost completely gone after that. I had IPL done on my face in office, & found the results took about 2-3 times as long, but the results were eventually comparable.
@@jude8602just and fyi you’re not supposed to use these devices on fake tan, whether it’s been done at home yourself or professionally like a spray tan. They say it drastically reduces the effectives
Bought this device after seeing your video. Did the exact 12 procedures before the summer started. My hairs are not completely gone, but I can go for a week or two without shaving, which is still amazing relief! Can't wait to proceed with the procedures, I am sure it would have great results
I use on my face. I bought the kenzzi after Susan yara reviewed but yours is way more thorough. Anyway I have not been disappointed. I’ve struggled with unwanted hair since puberty
For PCOS & Hirsutism. Try drinking spearmint tea, with natural/dried okay spearmint leaves. Boil then steep for five minutes (cover the cup of tea) and drink plain as quickly as possible (not too hot so you don't burn yourself). Twice a day. It really works. I did it and it helped. You have to be consistent and keep doing it.
Damn girl thank you. It's hard finding RUclipsrs as hairy as me but lately I've found some and I'm so happy. Although this isn't a product I will get, I'm black, it's nice to see the results for when something comes out for my skin tone.
Hi Cass, we talked about it in the live chat but I'll leave it here too... I bought it right after your first video, used the code too, so thanks for that. I used it EVERYWHERE. My arms and legs are definitely improved, other parts show less progress, face is also responsive in some parts more than the others, as in mustache good, chin hairs not so much. I'm still on it till I'm silky smooth except for my hair, brows and lashes, I love the feeling of my smooth skin.
You had questions that I didn't manage to answer before live ended, so let me know if you wanna know more about my experience. Also, I started off using the goggles, but found that the process took so much longer with them and I started procrastinating, so I decided not to use them and just close my eyes and look away lol.
@@moonmaiden4197 it's not 100% so I still shave for the IPL, butttt I can go longer without it being noticeable. And I have the same "line of hair" phenomenon Cassie mentioned, clearly there were places I kind of skipped, just yesterday I figured a solution, shave an area where hair still grew then immediately IPL it, then move to the next one, so I actually target the right areas. And I had very visible strawberry skin on my legs, definitely improved by a LOT!
@@moonmaiden4197 of course! It does take longer than 12 weeks though. Like, underarms and bikini are noooo where near gone, there are small patches of hairless skin, but I think I still have a LONG way to go.
I had clinical ipl done (on my underarm area and sides of my face) and would generally recommend a maintenance session about once a year once you have 80% hair reduction. It worked so well for me so I'm interested to try this for legs, bikini line and arms. Amazing!
How many treatment session did you need to get rid of your underarm hair? I’ve been using the Kenzzi for 2 months but my underarms are resistant and am considering switching to clinical ipl to see better results, but it’s pricier
Regarding how long the results last: I bought a Flash & Go years ago, back when they needed replacement cartridges (then they came out with one that would basically last as long as the device). I have dark hair/fair skin, and it worked really well for me. It cleared out the dark hair on my forearms, leaving behind just the fine blonde ones, and got rid of almost all the leg hair. The last stragglers grow back so slowly and fine, I shave them once or twice a month. It’s been at least eight years and the results have held up. The hardest hair to get rid of (besides the knees, lol) was the underarm hair. I had to keep working at it, and finally got rid of the last little patches after being lazy with it for a couple of years. “Fun” fact: the smell of burnt underarm hair and scorched underarm odor (despite daily bathing and deodorant-does it live under the skin or something?) is-memorable 🤢
Do you perform maintenance flashes? So I mean use the device 1-2 times a year to keep the hair away. And don't worry about the odour, it's very normal. The bacteria and body fluids sit on the surface: if there's hair - they will sit on that, if there's no hair - then they will sit on and in the skin (whether it's pore openings or even in between the "loose" upper layers of keratinised cells). I can imagine that extra "spice" when it's burnt though haha
@@Black.Spades I don’t really do any maintenance zapping. I probably should, but the leg hairs are so scattered, slow-growing, and hard to see that I tend to ignore them until they get long. I used to have to shave every other day in the summer, so it’s easy to live with the strays.
Agreed with the burnt underarm kinda smells🤣 IPL really does help. I recommend it 100% for compatible candidates. It definitely lessens facial hair also...especially for those struggling with fast growing facial hair.
God i so agree with what you said about it taking forever to reduce the armpit hair, and the smell! I never had smelly underarms and since sometime, i started smelling really, idk, spicy(?) in there? I researched online and just thought I was eating crazy amount of garlic. Nothing seemed to help. Then bam! I stopped using IPL for a while, and the smell was gone too. It's been like 2 months for me, hope it works faster for me, because having to shave every week and not being able to wax and have smooth skin for atleast a little long is starting to get difficult now as I've got thick hair in my armpits that are prone to getting bumps.
@@surabhisharma6608hi how is it now? do you think the benefit of having less to no hair in the armpit outweighs the cost if having a burnt smell armpits?
I used the Kenzii (regularly for a bit and then not so regularly) and I noticed that I have bald spots on places on my legs and the hair definitely feels softer. I also noticed that once I did wax it seemed to be significantly less uncomfortable
I'm new, I have paddle skin and dark hair and PCOS, (and KP which causes many of those dark hairs to be ingrown) and I love you. I'm sold. Thank you!!!
I love mine! I used to have multiple hairs per follicles and since I started it has slowed that and the growth. I unfortunately made the mistake, upon the first try, of going over the tattoo on my leg...oops! It was uncomfortable after and raised my tattoo for a few hours. Otherwise it's great, for the short time I have been using it.
So, I did in-clinic laser hair removal about 5 years ago and I will say that I have not been back for any touch ups since and the hair is still completely gone. Not even a shadow. I do have a few hairs that have grown since but I just pluck them as it is not even worth paying for another treatment to remove. I am Spanish so I have very dark body hair and it’s mind blowing how much of a difference it made. I started doing other parts of my body but I had to stop because of the expense and the time commitment. If you can afford in clinic laser hair removal, I would highly recommend. I will admit it was painful, but the clinic I went to offered numbing cream and cooling air to minimize pain. Hope this helps somebody who’s curious about in-clinic laser hair removal!
It’s funny how life goes bc I’m a very hairy girl bc of PCOS & maybe even my Mexican genes so I was looking into laser treatments but I came across your video & you are my absolute favorite RUclipsr & when it comes to truthful reviews, I can always count on you 💜 Update: I just received my Kenzzi but it’s defective & I’m so sad I really wanted to start using it already & it won’t turn on properly 😢💔
I have pcos and on laser hair treatment for a year, I love it! But they said that my hair will probably grow back because of my hormones :( but I can have a couple of sessions in a year to keep them away!
@@kathrinat9824 I have pcos and going plant based is what worked finally. Most of my symptoms are gone. I lost almost 120 lbs, got regular periods now, my acne is gone, my hormones test normal. But the stupid hirsutism has not changed. That’s why I’m here watching videos like this.
I’m so glad there are razors. Au natural is fine for those who don’t wanna shine but I guarantee clear smooth skin catches peoples eye and it helps exfoliate. Love it
Hi!! I am a brownskin girl and I've been using the Kennzi for almost a year now and I can say that it really does work for me and my skin tone too with a few adjustments I've made to make sure everything works out fine. My hair is black and I'm def not lightskin more like a tad lighter than a milk chocolate Hershey bar. Like a Fitzpatrick type 5ish. I will say that level 3 is the safest, highest level for my skin. 4 or 5 seems risky so I haven't tried it tbh and its recommended to not go over 3 for my skintone. My hair starting out was very thick and very dark, growing back literlly within half a day after my lst shave. But now I notice my hair seems alot thinner to the point that it's like thick peach fuzz. I have also gone longer without shaving because of the slowed hair growth. I kinda fell off of using my Kennzi every week for that reason but I'm getting back to it. But honestly the difference is undeniable and I'm so happy I don't have to be excluded from cost effective long term hair removal due to me skintone. You are a doll for this vid Cassandra, giving us girls something (more like someone) to trust 🤌🏾💕
I have type 1 skin. I've been using the Tria, which is actual laser rather than IPL. On the bits I've done, it has had lasting results. It did my hands a few years ago, and all the visible hairs have completely gone, but if you look really closely under a bright light, you can still see some really fine transparent hairs. I've also managed to clear my ankles and maybe about 30% of the hair on my lower legs. The big disadvantage of Tria over IPL is it takes a lot longer, about 20x as many flashes to cover the same area of skin, and I think it is about twice as long between each flash.
I adore your dedication to this! Really looking forward to your follow up video. Great information and this feels so authentic. Appreciate your complete coverage of the topic including meds and diverse skin
I’d love to see what happens with your hair when you stop! It’s the one thing holding me back from buying- I want the results to be at least semi permanent to ideally permanent if I’m going to invest in a tool like this.
Just FYI even laser hair removal in office isn’t permanent… once you’re done with your series of treatments you still have to go in to keep up results (just less often) or else the hair eventually grows back… just want you to know because I didn’t know this when I started laser removal… Electrolysis is the most permanent method
Ok here is my experience: I used this for over 6 months and honestly my hair grew slower and almost to the point where they didn’t grew back at all. But here is the thing : after 5 months of not using it EVERY SINGLE hair grew back and the “growing speed” was the same as before the “treatment”. Now I’m back to where I was before. So I’m letting you be the juge. Yeah it “works” but you’ll have to use it forever for it to not go back to its old state. Sorry for my bad English, my mother tongue is French.
@@Acidfunkish it will take less time than shaving , and you eventually wont have to shave all the time the more consistent you are. Youll probably have a few stubborn hairs but thats it. It will save time and money.
That's actually true, I've done clinic strength laser treatment. After a year, my underarm hair grew back. So, to conclude you have to touch up every year. So nothing is really permanent.
The same is with epilating for me,my hair grows back slower snd sparser .I used to shave every 4-5 days the most and now after two and a half years i use the epilator every two-three weeks. In the two weeks mark it has grown back a lot but i dont care anymore if my hair shows unless it is very long(thats normally the three weeks mark for me) It doesnt also help that i have a lot of hair and all of it is 99% dark, like in the video my three weeks hair is like her hair when she shaved it after a long time. But always after i stop using my device in about 2-3 months the hair has completely grown back and i am back to bear mode
The fact that you had the confidence to show your real hair. I could never! Often girls come on RUclips testing shaving/waxing products and their skin is bare and I'm like..are you for real now?
Love this video and your dedication! I've been using the Braun Silk Expert Pro 5 IPL for 6 weeks and I am obsessed! I decided to go with the Braun brand because it was the only one that was FDA approved.
I was impressed by your results and I was able to get the Philips IPL through a work benefit and I have to say I get excited every two weeks when it's time to flash! I flash some of my bfs arm hair and it looked so funny
First of all, you are A CHAMP for dedicating yourself to this study for an entire year! I watched your initial video last year before I bought my own IPL device, and for that reason paid extra close attention to my ankles and knees. The hair on my ankles has now permanently stopped growing back!🎉 I’ve also had INCREDIBLE results on my underarms. I am fair-skinned with course, thick, dark hair, and had been waxing for almost 15 years because I felt I had no other options. Having been raised by two cosmetologist parents, I was skeptical about this device, but thought the discount code made the product worth it if it was effective. I honestly haven’t even been that consistent, and my results are unbelievable. I’m SO HAPPY I don’t have to spend 3-4 hours waxing every 5-6 weeks, and for that reason alone this product has saved me LOTS of $$ over the last year. Thank you so much for your incredible, entertaining, candid, and super informative videos!! They’ve really made a difference in my skincare. I consider you an authority figure and generally check your videos first before trying new products and devices. 💕
Doing my last 12 week treatment tomorrow and going to keep going! Bought mine open box and has been working well since. But mainly excited for your live videos!!
@@vabunajonsville4251 I stopped using it over the summer, so basically back to square one. I thought it worked when I did use it though! But there’s a limit to how many flashes / uses it has. Not sure how long they last
I can attest to kenzzi’s return policy! The first one I received did not flash at all. I took pictures and video and they sent me a new (working) one immediately! And I’m having the same results! I’ve been at it five months and it WORKS! I should also be clear I have the perfect skin tone/hair color for this to work. Also really, really appreciate you acknowledging both the social pressures of being hairless and the fact this doesn’t work for many people with darker skin tones!
Awesome controlled study. I always appreciate your honesty and research. I saw a review a few months ago on RUclips specifically for the "Brazillian" area that seemed very genuine. She was still in the process of diminishing hair in the area(I don't recall the length of time used.), but suggested thinner, slower growing hair with the hairline gradually fading inward.
I've used Braun pro 5 IPL. Naturally my hair grows slowly after I shave. Normally it takes about a month for my hair to grow. With IPL, it took my leg hair almost 8 months to grow back but thinner. That's where I grabbed my IPL and zapped them off. There are few spots where hair never grew back not sure if that's also permanent.
I have the same Braun and it’s amazing. The cheap brands like kenzi take forever to start seeing results. Anyone interested in IPL should invest in a higher quality machine like the Braun or I think Phillips makes a good quality one as well.
I just bought a braun one. Do you know if it's okay to use over ingrown hair pimples or by the PII left by them? I get those in my bikini line and seeing as I have to shave for the IPL... thanks, I'd really appreciate it.
@@leonamay8776 hey girl! IPL actually helps with pimples and ingrown hair. It destroys the hair follicles which will help get rid of the ingrown hairs. But, id suggest you to do your research or reach out to an expert :)
Bumps and cuts are the reason why I gave up on razors and switched to electric shavers. They don't give such a close shave as a razor would or exfoliation, but it's good enough and skin is not irritated.
Thank you for doing this!! I have had salon treatments (4 years ago) and after 8 treatments (on my armpits and bikini area) I thought it worked, but after two months my hair grew back. They suggested I needed more treatments. Unfortunately after 12 treatments the hair still came back. I ran out of money so I stopped the treatments. What a waste of money... I really wanted it to work, so I might try it again in the future (somewhere else or with kenzzi) when I have more money to spend. If kenzzi keeps the hair away, then I will probably buy it.
It happen the same thing to we. I won a contest of 10,000$ on internet and 1 year later it all grow back, same as before :( Now I don't know what to do. I want to buy a home device, maybe an epilator... have you bought something ? Thanks !
I bought this because of your reccomendation and kept up with it for 4 months on a weekly basis and during that time I did notice that my hair definitly did grow back slowly on my legs and arms. I did it on my underarms as well, but it that progress was very slow. I unfortunately stopped the IPL as I couldnt keep up with it and the hair hair does grow back for sure. One thing I noticed was that my Kenzii device became overheated everytime I tried to use it, it didnt burn my skin but it was just too hot too hold so I had to keep stopping and let it cool down, which was super annoying.
I bought philips lumea a few years back. 95% of hair from legs seems gone forever, but every once in a while I shave those 5%. But they grow ultra slow, ant the amount is so small that i just forget them. Its nice to finally have no ingrown hair and 0 lazer cuts. Friendly tip for those who is choosing a device, take with a cord not a chargeable... Had both and it was so inconvenient when you forget to charge it, and it takes a few hours, or your battery runs out in the middle of the process.
Here in Vietnam in salon IPL is super popular and it is known that the effects don’t last forever so the salons offer a lifetime warranty where after you finish the 8-10 sessions, you can come back like every 3 months for retouch sessions so yeah don’t expect long term results, you need to keep using the machine for the rest of your life pretty much :D But as time goes by you should be able to use it less often
i have pcos and hirutism. im very embarrassed of my overly hairiness so i was really happy to see her legs as hairy as mine . alot of other youtubers dont show how hairy they actually are when reviewing ipl stuff
I'm a Fitzpatrick 1 and laser hair removal worked for me: I have the palest of pale skin, but dark(er) body hair so the contrast was still there to make it work. Basically all the melanin my body could muster goes into my hair, and absolutely none for my skin!
Great video. I am one of those lucky girls who are naturally hairless, but lately one of my friends was complaining about having to shave every day. I will send her this video. Thank you for all you do, you are awesome. x
Wow what an experiment! Good on you and your dedication is fantastic. I bought an at home ipl machine from Aliexpress and I'm surprised it works so well! It is slow going but I'm so happy with how my legs are looking. I'm Vietnamese but i think I'm hairy. Mine is about 900000 flashes and I've used 5000 flashes. I also bought glasses because I thought it best to be safe! Me leg hair wow.... the hair is growing back really slowly, no more ingrown hairs and no dark spots on the skin from the hair. The price point is fantastic.
GUURL, I LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUU You are showing us real hair and how it works! I have one of those and i do notice difference, I can go a week and a half without shaving my legs now! Not so much on the underarms and private areas. I am going for real lazer now, I hope all the work I've been doing so far will only help that process! Btw, I have oily & dehydrated acne prone skin, would you show us a vid on what you consider the best hydrating cleansers, serums, masks and others? Grateful
LUX Skin has the exact same one for waaayyyy less. They always have sales as well, and yes, it does work. I have used it on my under arms and I can count the number of hairs I still have growing. They are stubborn. Anyway, get the less expensive brand. Other places are over charging and I couldn't believe anyone started shilling an expensive version of the one I bought at $59 (on sale). EXACT SAME ONE! Save money.
Omg I remember your old makeup tutorials!! I only just connected you to those videos. I watch those ages ago when I was trying to learn makeup as a kid!!
I have a Silkin version….and so far my hair hasn’t grown back very much! Yes it’s grown in a little bit, but in patches on my legs and much thinner….I haven’t used mine in over 6 months now. I have also used mine on my face and it’s wonderful
I got one for my daughter last xmas. It seemed too good to be true but it did have good reviews. Also it is so hard to find a good gift for a teenager, that I decided to get it. She says it definitely works and totally worth the price! So I would definitely recommend and I am waiting for my turn to use it after she is done with it.
I’ve been using IPL (not Kenzie) for about 4 months and I’ve seen results on my arms but not my armpits yet. I’m seeing patchy growth on my arms and it’s exciting that it’s actually working. It’s just hard to keep up with. I was good the first 3 months then I started slacking off.
I used an off brand amazon one but it had thousands of good reviews. I used it for 3-4 months consistently, moving from every day, every other day, and then to 2 times a week like recommended (i did it even more often than they recommended actually) which was EXTREMELY TIME CONSUMING. And it seemed to be thinning out my hair but one year later and I really don't think it changed anything. My hair grows back the same thickness, rate, and amount. Maybe I didn't do it long enough idk
The cheap brands like kenzi are very weak. It’s worth investing in a quality brand like Braun pro 5. With a high quality machine you’ll get results within a month then it’s just maintenance once every couple of months.
I bought it in Feb 2021. But did not start it right away. I proceeded to do my armpits and upper lip weekly for the past 12 weeks now. So far I am satisfied with my armpits. Upper lip..well of cause the hair as thinner not lighter but thin, thanks for your thorough review I will keep at it. Would love to see the update video for your legs when it’s out.
I bought an ipl 3 years ago, i was sick and tired of shaving every day and it was very dark and coarse hair. after 6 months of use I no longer needed to shave, it started growing back 2 years later, but very soft hair. I think you are not supposed to use it on your face because your skin react to sun exposure after ipl, like I got white spots on my legs for a year because of it.
Ive always hid my legs bc im Porcelain white and my leg hairs are wiry thick and black. I don’t know how I ended up with such crazy genetics (being Spanish and white i guess), but my leg hairs are thicker and blacker than the average person. Even after shaving or waxing you can see the hole where the root of the hair used to be thats how porcelain and translucent my legs are. I NEED THIS….
@@dutchik5107 It depends. Most Spanish people have medium skin tone (they're not tan but they're not fair), and it also depends on the region. In the northern parts Spanish people are paler and a lot of people there can't tan at all, as you go south, people are naturally tanner or they can tan easier. Even with that, Spanish people rarely have fair skin (they are white but not as pale as someone from UK, for example), even in the north.
@@junglalii i know. But you cannot tell me they are not white. I am pale as hell whenever I go to Spain. I am also pale as hell in the netherlands. But tanning a bit and not being ghost pale because you live in a place with loads more sun, doesn't mean you are not white. I've been to Spain many times. Even had a 2 year relationship with a half Spanish dude. Going to his town and seeing all his friends in Spain. I've been in Spain. I've been to the North. Valencia region and mallorca. Not to southern Spain, but the complexion of people is probably the same as in southern Portugal right? Cause I have been there.
@@dutchik5107 Of course, people in Spain are white, I guess the original comment meant she's pale? In Spain white is blanco, which we use to say that someone is pale (we also use "pálido" but that's more formal). I'm sorry if my comment was misunderstood, of course Spanish people are white
In my experience, at home IPL devices do reduce hair growth but it is a lot of work for presumably temporary results that need continuous use of the device for upkeep
I got a $50 version on Amazon prime day. I'm extremely surprised by the results! I have to shave my legs every 2 to 3 weeks! My underarms and bikini line are taking a bit longer tho. I have to shave those about every 7 to 10 days. Not bad for 50 bucks!!
Do you have issues with facial hair? I want to get one but I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars right now. Which one did you buy for $50.00 please?
I bought an IPL thing that was like less than half the price of that one and I did it over winter and stopped during summer (cause I was afraid to sunburn my legs since it makes that area more sensitive to the sun) and it has held up very well over summer and you can see the patches where I was more diligent vs the ones I sometimes missed.
I’ve heard this said so many times and never understood it. Hearing you say it finally made me understand. Basically your hair has to be darker than your skin for it to work.
Well, your review pulled me over the line. I was considering it, but also thought it sounded scammy and too good to be true. But you I believe ^^ Just bought and am very much looking forward to using it!
I used a Philips Lumea about 7 years ago for my shins and calves and it worked great - just some little patches around bigger birthmarks remain. I did professional laser removal by my dermatologist on my thighs and in my armpits (it HURT!) and it basically did f.-all! Thankfully my insurance covered it. Frequently having ingrown hairs at the back of my thighs apparently was a good enough reason 🤷🏻♀️ even though the hair is not gone, it got a bit thinner so that problem was fixed.
This comment is a little late for the video but might answer someone else's question. I had IPL sessions done on my legs at a professional center in the past. I am a latina with light to medium skin and really dark and thick hair. I also have PCOS so I am hairy. I used to go there every 15 days. This was about 7 years ago and I the hair on my legs still grows slower and thinner. I had to stop the treatment for monetary reasons, basically, but I was told that after you achieve the desired results, you need to have a session every 6 months to keep the results. I'm finally thinking about getting my own machine and I'm so excited cause my experience with IPL was very positive!
Have you noticed anything going on with your legs other than effecting the hair? Does the kenzzi for instance, affect freckles, small moles, hyperpigmentation or telangeictasias/dead end capillaries?--also, should you look away from the light or wear sunglasses? Or is it safe to look at?(ok you covered it)
IPL Devices will burn your moles and (maybe freckles if dark enough) Which is why its dangerous for dark skin tones to use. I'm not sure about anything else but in the video she said she looked away sometimes and not used glasses so idk.
@@blueyblue5831 do you know if it's safe to use an at home IPL device over an ingrown hair "pimple" / irritation or by the PII left (the discoloration)? I recently bought one and can't find the answer anywhere...
@@leonamay8776 just skip the pimple, clear out the ingrowth and let it heal and then use ipl on it. Burning a whole big excess of hair curled up in the ingrown follicle will likely just irritate the pimple and make it bigger.
Hi ipl does work. I did mine in a clinic 27 years ago on my arms and legs. It lasted but a few hairs did grow back about 7 years ago. So I bought a home device similar to the one you used . It worked just as well. I do want to mention I did not bother to shave when I did it and just fried it as it was not much. Worked just as well . The hairs may grow back due to hormones

Thank you so much for giving information on how IPL works on people with dark skin
Omg thank you for following up on this. You're the only person I've seen who kept up with these reviews

How many times do you have to use it, for upkeep, though? Like, if it's one treatment every 2 weeks, it still might take up less time than shaving. 🤔
@@Acidfunkish it will take less time than shaving , and you eventually wont have to shave all the time the more consistent you are. Youll probably have a few stubborn hairs but thats it. It will save time and money.

Thank you for all you do, you are awesome. x
I can vouch for this product - it’s been life changing for me!!!!!!
GUURL, I LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUU
You are showing us real hair and how it works!
Grateful
This woman could sell me anything. Love u Cass

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this! I have been thinking about getting it and hadn’t completely decided until now. You rock girl!
Save money.
they all are from aliexpress they are dropping and putting their name on it. search the ipl up on ali express it’s like 28$
Omg I remember your old makeup tutorials!! I only just connected you to those videos. I watch those ages ago when I was trying to learn makeup as a kid!!
Can’t ever forget that couch!! Loved your couch 😂😂
I have a Silkin version….and so far my hair hasn’t grown back very much! Yes it’s grown in a little bit, but in patches on my legs and much thinner….I haven’t used mine in over 6 months now. I have also used mine on my face and it’s wonderful
So have areas not grown after 6 months withour shaving at all?
@@GuidetteExpert yes I have hardly any leg hair that grows anymore, just a few patches….it’s great!
I am using an ipl and I am so satisfied using your results. Thank you
I got one for my daughter last xmas. It seemed too good to be true but it did have good reviews. Also it is so hard to find a good gift for a teenager, that I decided to get it. She says it definitely works and totally worth the price! So I would definitely recommend and I am waiting for my turn to use it after she is done with it.
Whoa, u are by so far the most honest reviewer ive ever watched 😯👏
I’ve been using IPL (not Kenzie) for about 4 months and I’ve seen results on my arms but not my armpits yet. I’m seeing patchy growth on my arms and it’s exciting that it’s actually working. It’s just hard to keep up with. I was good the first 3 months then I started slacking off.
I'm so glad she explained who this will not work for. I kinda wished that she said that at the beginning of the video.
Using it every day? That sounds weird. Ypu usually start with evwry two weeks since this is the cycle the hair grows back
I bought it in Feb 2021.
This is *actually the most helpful review of these devices that I've found. THANK YOU!
You know most Spanish people are white, right? Most have brown hair yes. But most are white. Especially during winter.
@@dutchik5107 most I’ve seen are brown, but few I’ve seen are white. I have black brown hair too.
Please upload an update video about wether or not your hair grew back after you stopped using it.
In my experience, at home IPL devices do reduce hair growth but it is a lot of work for presumably temporary results that need continuous use of the device for upkeep
Love it only honest review I found on youtube after watching thousands of videos!
Yeah this is the best video on these devices. And I love your personality. Great presentation and energy
Which one did you use?
@@SanHolo124 Proficare IPL 3024. caught it on sale for 70€
@@dledee thank you!!!!
OMG Thank you !
"Because it's important for people who have black skin or dark briwn skin have options as well."
If you are able to spend the money I can really recommend the Lumea :)
How did your insurance cover it??
@@silviapirvulescu4159 German private healthcare covers almost anything if a medical professional gives a good enough reason. Frequently having ingrown hairs at the back of my thighs apparently was a good enough reason 🤷🏻♀️ even though the hair is not gone, it got a bit thinner so that problem was fixed.
Philips Lumea has changed my life! Not only all hairs are gone, my skin feels baby soft!
Thanks for the delightful reporting of updates; looking forward to all the rest to come! 😊💛
You also need to avoid sun exposure after the sessions!

Do u have an update for us? 😊 How are the long-term results?
Hi ipl does work. I did mine in a clinic 27 years ago on my arms and legs. It lasted but a few hairs did grow back about 7 years ago. So I bought a home device similar to the one you used . It worked just as well. I do want to mention I did not bother to shave when I did it and just fried it as it was not much. Worked just as well . The hairs may grow back due to hormones
Hey cassandra! please give us an update on the leg. Has the hair started to regrow or are they still scant? and what about your armpits?
You dedicating a year is SUPERB QUALITY info. Thank you
