I have met a few lively Chinese ladies who are very weird about skin color. I'm part irish and had red hair as a teen. But im so white I glow in the dark and they absolutely go crazy that it's my natural skin color. They even talk about skin bleaching creams they try. It's scary
I've seen Chinese actresses who had eyelid surgery and Caucasian eyes looked awful on them, because they didn't match their features. This girl's wisdom is amazing and it moved me to tears because I too have the same eyes as my dad, who passed away this year.
This is why I don't plan on getting my nose done. My kids both look like carbon copies of me. They are absolutely gorgeous. I get my nose from my dad. He passed away a few yrs ago
That's interesting, because I always thought mono. Lid eyes we're beautiful. I have hooded eyes, and I always wished I had mono lid eyes especially when it came to doing makeup. I guess it's another case.Of always wanting what you don't have.
I see my nose on all the women in my family 😅 we all slowly start turning in my great grandmother and grandma. I have one cousin who is her carbon copy. But we all looked enough alike that when I go to my old home town for family reunions I get all kinds of folks come up to me in the store and say. Okay sweetie can you tell you mother that I got this or that or the flowers for the alter at church for Sunday. Oh I sure will lol. I know exactly which aunty they want me to tell 😅 they just think I'm of of her daughters 😅
Being half persian, nepali-indian and having big round eyes, I find monolid eyes super attractive. They can make a person look soft, adorable, cute but also fierce, edgy and cool at the same time. Please don’t even think of changing your natural beauty❤
I hate that societies and corporations around the world convince people that their natural ethnic features are ugly and need to be fixed. Your natural ethnic features are beautiful and part of what make you who you are. We don't all need to look the same
Asian eyes are particularly beautiful. How sad to be raised thinking that Asian eyes are not a plus. This particular lady is lovely in appearance and at heart, and her wisdom is inspiring.
I love mono eyelids I think it’s just the rareness that is considered beauty in every culture since most people have mono eyelids in Asia it is a regular thing for them I don’t like the lips every one is getting these days with lip fillers cheek fillers as it’s becoming a uniform look for every one is getting Keep the uniqueness nature has given you
Monolids aren’t undesirable at all tbh. As an asian who has monolids, I’ve noticed that it really depends on your facial features. I personally look weird with mine, but there are so many girls I’ve seen who look good with it. Your nose may look weird, your mouth, your eyes, or whatever but in truth it depends on how it compliments with other features. Monolids aren’t rlly a problem unless you want it to be.
It is a shame that she was criticized at a young age because of her eyes. I am really glad that she realized that she had beautiful eyes and appreciate that her eyes was really a gift from her father.
Thankfully, she has learned to love herself. Everyone looking the same isn't beautiful. It's robotic and lifeless. The beauty is in our differences and uniqueness.
Love yourself! A type of feature isn’t “good” or “bad”! You are amazing and beautiful! Please enjoy this one chance we all have at life and don’t worry about things as insignificant as appearance. ❤
I'm European, and I love how distinctive Asian eyes are. I love that difference in people, and I'm really happy she decided to accept herself - especially in honor of her father. Good for her!
I'm an adopted Korean living in the US. I have a double eyelid but always hated my eyes for being smaller than my white family and friends. I've always wondered what my biological mother and father looked like...I've never though of it this way. Thank you to this og poster, and Dr. Youn for sharing. ❤ Beautiful perspective.
I have monolid too and used to want to go to Korea sooooooo badly for surgery. But … I realized how just a bit of makeup on them (I use my blush only) and curling my eyelashes enhanced them. Plus they are the most versatile when it comes to different kinds of makeup up if you wanted to dress up, whether you want to look fierce or cute. I don’t have the yearning for surgery anymore. Also, my husband loves them and used to feel sad when I would tell him I wanted surgery 😂 he said it hurt him to know that I hated something he found so lovable about my face. That helped my new view of them too of course! 😊
I always felt like Asian women are very beautiful, being of Indian ethnicity, I was always made fun of for my dark complexion and curly hair, it gave me extreme insecurities, now I have white hair and I am beginning to start feeling relaxed because I am learning to accept myself the way I am. Thank you for sharing this inspiring story, I can relate to these unattainable beauty standards
My monolids turned to double lids a few years ago naturally (or supernaturally?) after my dad passed away. He had double lids. Now when I look in the mirror, I see the man I always hated, my abusive dad 😢
I'm sorry you have this thought in your head. I get thoughts and feelings too from my childhood. You are your own. You're beautiful as God made you. Your eyes are yours, not his. Maybe features are somewhat alike, but when you look through your eyes and express feelings with them, it's you, not him. I feel that you are totally opposite from how you were raised or treated. I know I am. Because we're strong enough to move above that. Please see you as beautiful and your own person.
I’m glad she’s happy with how she looks. No one should dictate how you look and it’s sad how people around you (especially adults during childhood) can give these criticisms without thinking about the lasting impact it has on a child. Even passing comments are bad enough to make a mark in a child. I’ve always been told that my nose is glad (also Asian), sadly I haven’t found a way to like it. My fiancé doesn’t see a problem with it, in fact he thinks it’s nicer than his (he’s white so it’s not flat). I may not like it but I’ve learnt to accept it and realise that it makes me look natural as opposed to some manufactured look on every other girl you see on social media who has had something done. No hate but if they’re happy with themselves that it’s great
In the West, should would be light years ahead most people as far as looks go. It’s crazy how one continent devalues one thing and another continent desires it! Eff society’s norm. One man’s yuck is another man’s yum ❤ Love yourself through all your stages in life.
That's exactly the reason I'll never touch my nose, I was made aware that it look "too" big as a child and became a little insecure about it and I think my dad picked up on that, he started to boop me in the nose and say 'this is dad's nose' in baby voice, as I grew up at some point it clicked 'If he's not here anymore someday and I look in the mirror and don't find him in my face it would be the biggest regret and the more heartbreaking thing in my life' so I love my nose very much now 😊❤
That's funny because it's like the second video in a week that I see of an Asian woman who didn't like their appearance until they realized that they looked just like their parents. This girl has her father's eyes and the other one looks like her mom when she was younger. Now they love themselves more and it's beautiful. 💖
Wow I was not expecting that beautiful sentiment at the end. She is a strong, wise young woman. Good luck in this world girl!
She is absolutely beautiful…inside and out; bless her heart for the sweet sentiment about her deceased father❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
So upsetting they made her believe that. She’s beautiful EVERY Ethnicity is beautiful! Be like her embrace yourself!
You’ve obviously never met African women

Not undesirable at all! Beautiful!
She is so beautiful Ma Sha Allah. May Allah help all who are suffering from those feelings. Ameen.
This is so sad to me. Your eyes are beautiful ❤
Imagine telling a literal child that a part of her is “undesirable” 😡
Happens every day
Happens all the time in east asian places unfortunately...sometimes you even hear it from your own parents 😢
@@keropiro6120 it happens literally everywhere, and it's always wrong.
@@crumbtember yup. That's what my mother (Italian) told me since I was a kid.

Awe, what a beautiful story. She is a lovely girl.
I love Asian eyes and hair. You are lucky!!
This is an awesome story! Thanks for sharing Doc.

I agree I love hooded eyes. It sucks that it’s “not the beauty standards” and everyone’s getting blethoraplasties.
GOD created you Very Beautiful. Don't ever change. You are BLESSED Young Lady. ☝🏽
I'm so glad you love your eyes, because they really are so beautiful ❤️
She's beautiful! Good for her ❤❤
I love monolid eyes. I think they look beautiful and unique. I have boring double lids.

It’s always funny when they say that. It only looks,”Unattractive”, because it’s normal/common.
This is beautiful ❤

In south Asia fair skin is considered as
the desirable skin colour for women.
If you have a fair skin you are attractive.
It’s CRAZY how ‘beauty’ standards look DOWN upon the NATURALLY MADE individual! Smh
It is a shame that she was criticized at a young age because of her eyes. I am really glad that she realized that she had beautiful eyes and appreciate that her eyes was really a gift from her father.
Omg i think she has beautiful eyes
She’s beautiful! I’m so glad she had that moment of realization. She doesn’t need to change a single thing about herself!❤
This is sad 😢. She looks great the way she is made. ❤
i've always thought of monolids as more attractive than double eye lids, i don't know why
You are beautiful inside and out. Do not listen to others who try to dim your light. 😊❤
She’s so beautiful. I’m glad that she loves her eyes now
You are beautiful. Please don’t let anyone judge you with standards that are not yours. ❤❤. Judgey people are worth being around.

Monolid eyes are beautiful! I so wish more east-Asians could see that and appreciate their own features. “Low” noses are often beautiful too.
