I’m using it right now on my acne and acne scars every 3 weeks to one month. My skin purged after 4 days, the. It started to reduce the redness and i can see amazing difference in 2 months.
I saw a paper for erythema, hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation, and mild acne. Most subjects responded very well to the treatment and no specific brand was mentioned, just that the light penetrated to around 520nm into the skin. Some others showed hypopigmentation after treatment, or hyperpigmentation -basically, the treatment was overshot and reverted their condition from having a blemish, to having a lighter spot and viceversa, but all subjects recovered from their respective reactions eventually (with follow-up treatment). Scars didn't reduce that much but to be fair, the study lasted less than a year. And erythema did show extremely well results, reducing almost entirely in less than a month for basically all subjects. So I'd say it works regardless of the brand, and what matters is how deep the light can penetrate. The only thing I wouldn't leave out at all is getting a device with cooling support, since more often than not, the IPL burns the skin.
Pale skin with dark PCOS facial hair, so I bought the green one, and I have thoughts… I must say there are quite a lot of caveats on if this will work for you, so please research before investing like $300+ bucks… Some places on my face the hair leans more red and in those areas, this did not work so well. Other places are starting to show a difference, but only just… and that is after treating religiously for about 3 months. I decided to keep the thing since shaving every three days beats shaving ✨every✨ day… maybe my hair is just incredibly resilient 🤷♀️
@@MediocreAtBest_Ginafer I’ve been using about 2x a week on the highest setting for 3 months or so. It really is virtually painless. Sometimes I’ll get a slight warming sensation. But I did patch test on my leg before using on my face.
@@cheekymonkeygirl3378 I can’t really speak to that, as I don’t happen to have hyperpigmentation in the areas I am targeting for hair removal… I do have some visible broken capillaries on my chin due to rosacea. I can’t tell a noticeable difference in that yet, but I haven’t noticed it getting any *worse*… i definitely follow the device’s suggested aftercare though… never use exfoliating acids directly before or after treatments, and follow up with sunscreen if going out after!
You can get eyebrow dye and dye it darker and it should still work. I have the same one as you and just out of curiosity, I started Googling random questions I had about IPL and I asked the company as well. I have dark hair everywhere I use it, so it doesn't apply to me, but dying the hair should help it work better.
Hey! I have the less expensive one (the thickest one) and it works! My leg hairs are none existent and I used to shave every two days. The hair on my face is also gone. The only place it hasn’t worked as well is under my armpits.
Omg, your skin is looking more flawless than ever. No wonder you were a model because you are naturally gorgeous! Can anyone tell me if it removes hyperpigmentation? 😢
Hello Cassandra, can you please tell me if you recommend the new Ulike Air 10 IPL version? I respect your expert opinion. Thank you very much, greetings from Guatemala!!
I've had Hidradenitis Suppurativa for 36 years. I've taken every oral & applied every topical. Accutane failed me. I'm already on 2 immunosuppressants/anti-rejection medications for a liver transplant I had 2 years ago. I'm desperate. My current dermatologist (a PA) wants to just inject each cyst as I flare with steroids & has me applying Clindamycin 1% lotion 🙄 My next step is surgery to remove the skin in my armpits & inner thighs. Do you have any idea how IPL works for extreme cystic acne?
Was literally about to ask her thoughts on this device for HS!! I've been considering it bc laser is typically recommended but is so expensive and bc it's considered cosmetic, most insurance won't cover it even for HS 😢
Hey girl! I know this isn’t the comment you’re expecting but I used to have really bad HS and Jesus healed me. When I got born again and came to him I realized That Jesus is the healer and I gave it to him and trusted his word and I got healed. @@kaitlynbeachy504 I was saved when I was 6 years Old, I'm 49 now. I know through Him, all things are possible. I had a liver transplant 3 years ago & I know i am only alive because of my my God. i wonder if the ‘93% hair reduction’ meant 93% of PEOPLE had noticeable hair reduction rather than referring to 93% of hair. would still be misleading if that’s the case, they should be more clear
@@cheekymonkeygirl3378 i hope you aren’t serious. Everyone needs skincare regardless of skin color, dark skinned people have many skin care concerns as well that can be noticeable. I just asked if it’s safe for darker skin as some laser hair removal devices arent recommended for use on dark skin

This isn’t ab skin care ‘glow up’ so, tho I am tan aka light skinned… if u r really curious, y don’t u ask a dark skinned person… in person. Skin care is care of skin, which can smooth all shades.
Cassandra, I thought you bought a Ulike Air 10 recently. Do you like the Air 3 better than the Air 10? Are you not using the Air 10? Did I imagine that you got an Air 10?
The instructions do mention specifically not to use this over areas where you may have tattoos or permanent makeup. Says it can cause blisters/burns and scarring 😳
IPL can aid in the removal of tattoos, but it can cause burns if you don't use it properly, so you may want to bring it to the appointment with you and ask them questions about how you could use it on your tattoos. I wouldn't just use it on your skin in that manner without consulting a professional.
definitely don't use on tattoos. the spectrum of light that is used in IPL is different than laser. IPL will melt the ink in your tattoo and cause blowouts, scarring, burns, and scabs. laser actually breaks the ink pigments in your skin, causing them to break into much smaller particles that can be removed by your body through your white blood cells.
Curious how they work for acne scars and if it’s just that specific brand? 🤔😱
