  • This brand new Range Rover SV, which came with a hefty price tag, arrived on site for the team to complete our full TBC Skins Paintwork protection. Protecting a brand new vehicle with a peelable paint protection seems like a no brainer! we always protect our £1000 phones with a screen protector and case but never our cars which cost a substantial amount more. Now we know that PPF (paint protection film is available, and of course, it is a good product. However, it doesnt have certain advantages that you get with TBC Skins.
So what is TBC Skins? As mentioned above it is a Paint Protection Spray (PPS) which acts like a wrap, and is certainly peelable should you want to remove it, but it is applied as if it was paint. It also offers the same protection as Paint Protection Film (PPF), but without any of the drawbacks that come with it such as; noticeable cuts or tears, stress marks, glue residues and UV yellowing and fading.
The ultimate benefit of this product is that you can either have a clear protection, like PPF, or you can incorporate a layer of paint which is either the car's existing colour (for a revamp), or a completely new colour. This creates the opportunity for a full respray which looks exactly like paint, but is peelable like wrap, and because it's a temporary colour change there is no requirement to notify the DVLA. Similarly, if not better than vinyl wrap, with TBC Skins you can also choose any colour you want, even a custom formulation. You can also opt to have either a gloss or satin clear coat finish with all options.
With TBC Skins you get 200+ additional microns of paintwork protection, whereas normal paint itself is only around 90 to 110 microns. Also, because this product is applied through a paint gun, rather than being applied like a normal film, there won’t be any noticeable edges. It has identical clear coat properties to normal paintwork which means you finish in gloss or Satin and obviously in this case the customer chose satin.
OH ALSO... This wasn't just a TBC Skins job, we also painted the calipers in a high gloss yellow and installed some new SV Wheels which the customer did not spec when ordering the vehicle and then regretted. We would love to bore you with our full process for colour changing callipers, but we doubt you will read it and Sam does actually explain it in the video.
If you would however like to find out more information about our services before getting a free quote, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
We hope you enjoy the video and it gives you more of an insight into what TBC Skins is and its benefits.

Whoever owns that SV will soon find out why LR doesn’t recommend running their hybrids on 23s 😂

@@TheBodycentreLtdNorwichUKThere’s two main reasons why they’re NOT a factory option: 1) 23s reduce the efficiency of the hybrid drivetrain given the additional mass/rolling resistance as opposed to 22s
      2) The other factor is load bearings as it’s commonly accepted that smaller wheels with higher sidewalls are able to tolerate the extra weight of the batteries and other such gubbins.
In reality I’m sure the cars owner won’t really be bothered with such minor details HOWEVER LR themselves DO notoriously seek to get out of warranty claims based on vehicle modification so tell them not to eBay their 22s just yet!!
