You could try kiln dried Play Sand or Block Paving Sand. Available at most DIY stores. Cheap as chips. Great project. Well done 👏👏👍😀

I have some Dustin carbide stuff arriving so I'm going to try that first but I'll try the other stuff at a later date and post an update.
