It is hard to say whether air travel is safe during pandemic as the virus is invisible. Just about any activity has risk. This video is about to document what airlines has been doing on regular basis and what my flight is like in the current climate. It is not endorsing or recommend flying is safe. United currently do not have social distancing onboard their planes but said they will alert passengers if the flight is more than 70% for options.
It's not free. How would you feel about paying an extra $8 every time you walk into an airport? I'll bet I'm not far off the mark. They were already cleaning *plenty.* Every time I've ever gone to an airport (except late hours) I have always constantly seen cleaning people working. The difference is that they're taking it to a greater level now, and it's bound to be painfully expensive.
My aunt is a flight attendant for United. She told me about how the airplane hasn't been this clean ever. She literally said "what have I been flying in for so long".
@@davebo1116 Per person. Bring your family of 5 to the lobby to meet Grandpa, 40 bucks. That's just a guess. Smartass. It is impressive to see how all the airline's employees put their heart and soul into bringing the hygiene measures to an absolutely top level. Hats off!!! Thank you Sam for the amazing video!
@Amsterdamnster Kush In the US they have some 5 million covid cases, 162k deaths. All they are refusing to wear masks. They have no plan and now they are behind. The netherlands have 57k cases, 6k deaths. They are wearing masks. They have a plan and they are ahead. Germany has 200k cases, some 9k deaths, they are wearing masks and have a plan, they are ahead. Masks offer some protection enough to keep asymptomatic carriers of this virus to spread it further. Pointless? Then fine. Go out without protection and get infected. Is this your plan?
Airline, airport, TSA, concession and everyone that works at the airprts know how important it is - like our jobs depend on it. All of the airlines and all airports are putting forth a 100% effort to keep flying safe.

The ticket price are driven by supply and demand. Right now international travel are quite restricted which had a skew in pricing. In longer term if we all back to travel airline may not have enough supply so there is a change of price hike.
@@SamChui True. With being said, eventually people will return flying. During this season airports should be packed, but they aren't so airlines would have to cover their loss once traffic returns to normal. That is regardless of the supply they can generate.
@@zupa5637 That's not bad. But again, we're still on the crisis. I am wondering what is going to happen once we quit the situation, or at least the normal traffic returns to the airport. Then the real test would come.
Airlines can't survive if 50% of their most vital revenue is nullified by government forbidding them to fill up planes. Those full planes pay all the bills, and make everything else possible with an airline. But unless they are nationalized (the most devastating outcome, but very possible, and the government subsidizes them like a Communist country), the prices are going to have to soar. Yes, that's supply and demand. When the supply is forced downward by 50%, prices soar. Unless the government [further] interferes.
26 years old the oldest Boeing 777-200 and still flying well without a single accident. Owned by United since 1995 and got a remarkable outstanding safety record.
Love ❤️ United airlines ! Thanks Sam for sharing ‘this and all videos !! Captains is intelligent ; can’t wait until this pandemic goes away and we all live our normal life’s ! God bless you all .....
It took a pandemic to establish better cleaning standards in aviation. On another note, it's great to see such an old bird still flying. You would think it would be one of the first to go in times of low demand and decreased earnings
Seeing passengers talking with their mask down, taking time enjoying their food and drink, is not reassuring that people are serious in minimizing risk of infection. Also taken aback to see crews using their hand to grap the front of the mask on their face. More training and safeguard are needed to convince people to fly.
I flew that plane from ORD to SFO in 2018. Normally that flight would be an 737-800 but that day it was busy so they substitute the 777 that flight. I do miss flying as my last flight was from SFO to ORD for business & fly back to SFO in February 2020 before the full pandemic was in affect.

just makes people feel good, its a load of shit. Its voluntary in Australia while flying and from my experience so far only a hand full wear them
Pussy

Hi, Sam! I have seen all your videos for one year and I´ve enjoyed them a lot. Congratulations! Good quality and exciting videos.
I am wondering how much this crisis is going to make our tickets more expensive.
I saw a buissneses class ticket from Tokyo to Paris for $2,000
@@zupa5637 That's not bad.
I understand United got that plane for nothing. Boeing needed it as a testing platform.
sam chui if i would get heart from you and you would reply that wold mean the world

Love ❤️ United airlines ! Thanks Sam for sharing ‘this and all videos !! Captains is intelligent ; can’t wait until this pandemic goes away and we all live our normal life’s ! God bless you all .....
0:38 I brought a sandwich!
Sounded like a NPC from a videogame😂
Uh-oh purser brings his own food on board? Doesn't eat airplane food?
Me too!!
Great video. This helped to restore my faith in the airline industry. I'd love to see you critique all major airlines. Good job!!
Love how the pilots could care less about a mask 😂
Pilot do not need to wear mask on flight deck for communication reason, however I should wear one when visit them.
@@hermicruz9937 what??
I really wish there were much more widebody flights within the US. I love the 777 and the 787
The only thing this virus brought is just more work for the flight attendants lol
It took a pandemic to establish better cleaning standards in aviation. On another note, it's great to see such an old bird still flying. You would think it would be one of the first to go in times of low demand and decreased earnings

Your videos give me so much hope! I'm praying that this virus will leave us soon. We need to populate the sky again✈️
I cringe every time I see someone touch their mask with gloved hands.
Close your eyes then
@@omar90s91 🤣🤣😂
Thank you Sam. Your videos give me hope that tomorrow is going to be OK.
This is the most terrifying video you have ever produced. So many masks down during flight. No thanks!
Michael Peterson, LCSW hi Michael! This is allowed during eating time for most airlines, but I’d rather not, cheers!
Seeing passengers talking with their mask down, taking time enjoying their food and drink, is not reassuring that people are serious in minimizing risk of infection. Also taken aback to see crews using their hand to grap the front of the mask on their face. More training and safeguard are needed to convince people to fly.
Sam I enjoy your work. Next time I fly I hope I see you.
You are too close to people when you speak / in the cockpit in particular you have no mask …/ …etc etc … why Sam ?
UA had their launch party at Signature Flight Support IAD. What a cool event!
really happy to seeing people travel again . can't wait to my turn at next Jan 2021
Sam, I watched that aircraft make it's first ever flight. Nice to see it is still in service.
Thx for showing us the flights during covid, can't wait to travel again
Sam, thanks for sharing your experience!
I worked on that exact plane when it came into Denver for the first time. Miss working on 777's.
Great video! United is by far the best airline (at least in the US)
Love United Airlines! They're My Most Favorite Airline!
Yay! Denver International Airport! my home airport!!
😷 🙅🏼 ✈️ *Sam* your videos are so entertaining. I won't be travelling with a mask on so i'll just enjoy your videos at home. This situation has taken all the fun out of travelling.
