I remember when Terry said that everyone has a weakness, Tori said "Sensei Kreese doesn't." She had so much faith that Kreese could be the mentor she's been looking for all her life, so being cut loose like that had to be devastating.

I don’t like it when people say it’s just Miyagi Do! There is no more Miyagi Do or Eagle Fang now it’s Miyagi-Fang! It’s not just Daniel’s dojo it’s Johnny’s too! It’s not just the karate of Daniel anymore… the kids know both styles! Mr Miyagi said to Daniel to find his own karate… he found it with Johnny! The way they talk about nostalgic moments comes through so awesome is because they actually lived those nostalgic moments, if you had some other actor come in there, try and talk about it, It would not work! These are those actual people that lived those moments in that universe so it comes across in the dialogue for sure

While yes, it kind of felt like Kreese screwed Tori over, ... did he really though? Basically he told her to make her own choices. She's been following and relying on others, and he's simply telling her to do what is in her own best interest. Yeah, maybe it sucks because she wants to feel that someone's in her corner, but his advice didn't seem like bad advice. And it didn't feel like it came from a place like "I don't care, do what you want."
This season was going slow but this ep turned it up. Johnnys Rocky IV reference with the Taikai guy was amazing. And the kids choreography this eps fight scene was really clean.
Firstly, Nikki is such a mom. Secondly, Eagle-Do, all the way. Thirdly, I love the part where Johnny said Miyagi-Do, and Daniel said Eagle Fang, cos we are now at the point where Daniel and Johnny fully understands and respects each others fighting philosophies, where we would never have fought that was possible. Finally, as far as Kenny goes, he's an angry kid, hurt by those that hurt him, and he has finally found a place where he can expel that hatred in a productive way, and also with the fact that his team just won the All Valley, so he's on the winning team here, or so he thinks. But what happens when he finds out the whole thing was a sham?....
I bought the name should be like Balanced Bonsais- the name speaks to the balance of different fighting styles and how each Sensei wants to help shape children they teach into strong, balanced, and confident young adults. But I like Chozen Ones, too.
Oh boy.... It's this episode. The one episode where they actually give Hawk something to do after his victory in Season 4, and they completely nerf him just to be jober for Kenny. I know it's needed for the plot but it still sucks.

Hawk might be holding back, but you'd think an experienced fighter would at least use his height and reach to his advantage to help against Kenny's speed. The Silver Bullet is essentially just a glorified punch to the chest that apparently knocks the wind out of you, but the show clearly shows that it's very blockable as Daniel does later in the season. Plus, it's just flat out bad writing for them making the audience think that Hawk is going to get a moment to shine even if he is taking a backseat this season, only for him to lose. At that point they should have just committed to keeping Hawk to the background.
@@rich355 Oh please. Hawk owned Kenny without throwing one punch in their brief fight at the waterpark. This was a combination of not taking Kenny seriously, holding back because Robbie said to, and the ref being corrupt, which threw Hawk off. If youre going to whine about this, do you whine about there being some magical technique to paralyze someone by lightly tapping their arms and legs? Did you complain about Kreese being able to take on 6 people at once, despite pushing 80 years old? Did you complain about Daniel mastering Chozens technique with exactly one single try? If you can get past those ridiculous moments, you can get past this one. Theres a lot of iffy writing in the show if you really want to get into it.
@@Billyregin Oh yeah, that's a good way to respond to an example of bad writing. You said it yourself that Hawk was toying with Kenny at the water park, in that example, he clearly wasn't serious with. Hawk may have held back, but he did in there previous encounter, so that shouldn't have damaged his performance by much as we already saw him not trying against Kenny. An experienced fighter like Hawk would have known the basic ways to keep the shorter and less experienced fighter at range and pick their shots and kicks. Did I complain about the crazy techniques? No. Did I complain about old men being about to fight multiple younger guy? No. Did I complain about Daniel learning somethings quickly? No. Why? Because all those instances of insane techniques, fast learning, and old dudes kicking butt were things established back in the Karate Kid trilogy.
Daniel not giving the number to kreese may be the wrong thing to do but it isn't a surprise when kreese earlier told him...him getting beat up was a good consolation prize
I think that Miguel and Sam are in a weird spot in their relationship right now but I think that both of their feelings were valid in this episode…🤷🏾♀️

What I love the most about this season is with having Chozen around is like having Miyagi around. Chozen’s mannerisms, some of his fighting, his sayings are very much like Miyagi, especially when he’s with Daniel and the kids. I have a feeling when they do the Seikai Takai tournament, they will make a new name symbolic of their unity of two different styles. I thought of something like Kizunai Karate, the word being symbolic of unity. Loved this episode and I can’t wait to see you both react to the last two; they will blow your minds.

What Terry and Kenny did at the boys match was messed up. It'll take time for Daniel and Johnny to come up with one dojo name, but I'm definitely okay if they pick Miyagi-Fang!! We got to see Hawk's green mohawk! "It's time to uncage the Hawk" part was awesome! Tory did the right thing to run away from her match because she knows that Terry's going way too far again and he’ll use her to win again! I'm glad Sam was able to win with Miguel’s support!
Not saying if he comes back or not. But the reason Barnes got little screen time is because he's working on another show plus he can't do much cause back in KK3 when miyagi threw Mike into the light switch. Mike's actor got an injury that nearly killed him and he still feels it to this day
No, you don't wanna give Kenny a hug, he's a bully and a sociopath. You wanna give him a beating he'll never forget, so every time he even thinks about doing something stupid, PTSD creeps in and prevents it. And before someone says: "are you crazy? he's not a sociopath, his behavior is a result of him being bullied and misguided". Wrong. Watch it again since his introduction and you'll see he had the traits even before everything happened to him. You never saw Kenny feeling empathy or sorry for anyone but himself.

Faux Hawk isn't a fair nickname. Especially considering all Hawk did in the previous season when he had the Red Hawk was taunt/warn him that Cobra Kai would take him down a dark path. I mean all Kenny did was throw cheap shots on him in a rigged fight. Wouldn't have mattered if Hawk took it easy on him. Kenny is a poser with inflated ego.
@@TheArtisticGhost Hell even with Blue, Purple or Green, without being told to "take it easy" on him vibes would have murdered Kenny like Robby did in season 4. Easily.
Another reactor said that Kim Da Eun was the only character he didn't enjoy this season because she came across too much as a one dimensional caricature rather than a character. I have to agree, but I think there were so many storylines and relationships and development of fan favorite characters to handle this season that there just wasn't much room for her to be more fleshed out, and I believe she will get a lot more depth and character development in season 6.
Honestly the dumbest thing about this episode apart from the obvious thing with Kenny beating Hawk when we all know Hawk should have wiped the floor with Kenny, is the fact that not a single person apart from Tory noticed the ref not so subtly looking over at Silver or called him out on his bullshit when he denied points for stupid reasons
Imagine if Joe Pesci came in and turned out to be Louie's dad. So he wouldn't be his cousin but his uncle instead. I guess it wouldn't make sense though since technically Louie Sr is dead now and we actually saw him in Karate Kid 3.
William zabka and Ralph Macchio are friends, but it hasn't been for that long Back when filming Karate Kid, they were kept apart entirely between filming sessions (Zebka hung out with the actors of cobra kai, while Macchio spent time with Pat Morita), apparently as part of the director's idea to help nurture animosity between them to better personify their respective characters' hatred. It's only at Pat Morita's funeral service where they met up for the first time in ages, did some catching up and quickly became good friends.
By all accounts every episode next season could/should be nothing but fighting. They go to a foreign land (probably Asia) with the tournament and we see kids from all over the world competing and it's non-stop fights. I guess throw in some relationship drama and opposing dojo love interests to add something extra. I hope that's the route they go.
we need more of The Last Kingdom! Johnny is my favorite overall and excuse me lol johnny looks young still and looks so good, I even liked him in the movie back then, I like Robby even though yes last season he made me mad. Tory is trying to change which makes me like her, I kept saying don’t turn on them please. this season Kenny pissed me off, he was even a bigger bully, I didn’t like silver more than I didn’t like Kreece lol I literally watched this show in one night I can’t wait for the next season
With Tory I agree I was worried after her conversation with Kreese but I think after her witnessing Terry's cheating again, she finally decided on her own to do the right thing. Not saying she wouldn't have eventually but maybe have taken longer. I think she would have faced Sam and tried to beat her but seeing the potential cheating just put in doubt if she won that she wouldn't earn it and if she lost by trying that it would be humiliating. The only mistake she may have made was not taking Devon with her because she left her to get slaughtered. Either she wins a tainted match and gains some self confidence that will be dangerous or what actually happened and Sam laid waist despite the ref on her side. Regardless Tory had the chose to stay or leave after Kreese told her to be on her own and the cheating was the last straw. That is why she finally came clean imo

How did no one else notice the looks the ref was giving Silver? He made it so much more obvious he was paid than the one in season 4

I'm sure he's been in other stuff, but I will only ever remember that guy as Wolf "The Denstist" Stansson aka the bad guy in Mighty Ducks 2.

The idea that any of the kids from either team being able to compete at all in a world tournament is quite the jumping the shark moment for the show.

No, you don't wanna give Kenny a hug, he's a bully and a sociopath. You wanna give him a beating he'll never forget, so every time he even thinks about doing something stupid, PTSD creeps in and prevents it.

Watch it again since his introduction and you'll see he had the traits even before everything happened to him. You never saw Kenny feeling empathy or sorry for anyone but himself.

Faux Hawk isn't a fair nickname. Especially considering all Hawk did in the previous season when he had the Red Hawk was taunt/warn him that Cobra Kai would take him down a dark path. I mean all Kenny did was throw cheap shots on him in a rigged fight. Wouldn't have mattered if Hawk took it easy on him. Kenny is a poser with inflated ego.

Another reactor said that Kim Da Eun was the only character he didn't enjoy this season because she came across too much as a one dimensional caricature rather than a character. I have to agree, but I think there were so many storylines and relationships and development of fan favorite characters to handle this season that there just wasn't much room for her to be more fleshed out, and I believe she will get a lot more depth and character development in season 6.

Honestly the dumbest thing about this episode apart from the obvious thing with Kenny beating Hawk when we all know Hawk should have wiped the floor with Kenny, is the fact that not a single person apart from Tory noticed the ref not so subtly looking over at Silver or called him out on his bullshit when he denied points for stupid reasons

William zabka and Ralph Macchio are friends, but it hasn't been for that long Back when filming Karate Kid, they were kept apart entirely between filming sessions (Zebka hung out with the actors of cobra kai, while Macchio spent time with Pat Morita), apparently as part of the director's idea to help nurture animosity between them to better personify their respective characters' hatred.
It's only at Pat Morita's funeral service where they met up for the first time in ages, did some catching up and quickly became good friends.

What ever happened to Kenny’ s older brother in same jail with Kreese story line?
By all accounts every episode next season could/should be nothing but fighting. They go to a foreign land (probably Asia) with the tournament and we see kids from all over the world competing and it's non-stop fights. I guess throw in some relationship drama and opposing dojo love interests to add something extra. I hope that's the route they go.
we need more of The Last Kingdom! Johnny is my favorite overall and excuse me lol johnny looks young still and looks so good, I even liked him in the movie back then, I like Robby even though yes last season he made me mad. Tory is trying to change which makes me like her, I kept saying don’t turn on them please. this season Kenny pissed me off, he was even a bigger bully, I didn’t like silver more than I didn’t like Kreece lol I literally watched this show in one night I can’t wait for the next season
With Tory I agree I was worried after her conversation with Kreese but I think after her witnessing Terry's cheating again, she finally decided on her own to do the right thing. Not saying she wouldn't have eventually but maybe have taken longer. I think she would have faced Sam and tried to beat her but seeing the potential cheating just put in doubt if she won that she wouldn't earn it and if she lost by trying that it would be humiliating. The only mistake she may have made was not taking Devon with her because she left her to get slaughtered. Either she wins a tainted match and gains some self confidence that will be dangerous or what actually happened and Sam laid waist despite the ref on her side. Regardless Tory had the chose to stay or leave after Kreese told her to be on her own and the cheating was the last straw. That is why she finally came clean imo
