    Ahhh yay this is just the video I needed right now, I find that every time I sing very high and bright I sound oddly like my nose is plugged and the sound just isn’t really sharp and fluent

    Hey Claire! there’s been a lot of singing videos going around with people singing like sirens. I was wondering if you make a video showing how to sing like one or kind of explaining how they do thanks for all you do on your channel!

    • @clairehosterman7431
      @clairehosterman7431  3 года назад

      Hi Arabella! Just to clarify: are you asking if I can make a video on how to make a vocal siren, or explain why many teachers teach this? I can do either, but wanted to make sure I understood the question :)

      @@arabellareese That's a GREAT question! I will put it on my list of things to teach! Because I'm teaching about 43 lessons a week, my voice is pretty tired and I need to conserve it (that's why I haven't been making videos lately). But I am thinking of making an online platform/subscription service where people can subscribe and watch videos--so if I do, I will let everyone know and this video may be added!! It may be an Instagram video, as well. But, for now, it will remain on my "videos to make" list, as I am on vocal rest while I'm not teaching!

    Hey Claire! When you use the imagery of a line below your nose where the sound should stay above, does that mean there should not be vibrations in the throat/chest? When I try the exercise, I'm still feeling some vibrations in my throat/chest and wondered about that. Also, I just discovered your videos/IG recently and am LOVING your videos. Thank you for creating such helpful, encouraging, and fun content :)

    • @clairehosterman7431
      @clairehosterman7431  3 года назад

      Hi beautiful!! That's a great question: although you want the primary amount of pressure to be coming from the upper part of the face (nose, cheeks, "mask" area), you still will feel SOME vibrations in the throat/chest, as your vocal cords are in the throat and will always make some natural vibrations. Does that make sense? You just don't want the PRESSURE coming from down there--a little vibration will be a natural bi-product of singing, but it should feel effortless :) Let me know if that helps/makes sense!

    *I've got a qustion. if you teach how to mix... and it menas when we sing correctly our voices never get tired.. Why your voice is always tired? but i like this video*

    • @clairehosterman7431
      @clairehosterman7431  3 года назад +1

      Great question! Using mix voices doesn't mean you don't get tired, but you can sing for much longer without getting tired. I teach 43 lessons a week and sing more than most Broadway singers, so I need to be on vocal rest. This technique allows singers on Broadway and in major shows to not injure their voices, but they can't do it FOREVER--they need to rest their voices, too!
